I am so glad I came across your video today. I don't have much stitching time anymore, nor much time to watch flosstube. But we have had extra days off for the holidays, so I try my best to take all I can get in that time! Your stitching AND finishing is beautiful!! And I love the samplers! I didn't have any desire to stitch a sampler years ago, but its all I want to stitch nowadays! I've recently gotten hooked on Blackbird designs and have a dozen or so kitted up for if I ever get some "me" time again! Lol. I went back to work after a 6 year hiatus last February and I would love to be sitting at home stitching my days away once again. A few hours on the weekends just isn't enough. And Christmas is my favorite to stitch for. I'm currently stitching a Shepherd Bush stocking for my husband. I've stitched 4 of them already for the grandbabies and have grand plans to stitch one for every family member that I possibly can. LOL. May not ever happen, but I will love giving it a good go at it!! Look forward to your next video! Take care, Ruth.
I LOVE Blackbird Designs too! I have a Shepherds Bush stocking kitted up and I’d love to get started on it, one day soon! I must stitch one for each of our three children. Thank you for watching and leaving such a lovely comment, Ruth. ❤️
Hi. Michelle (Momma Loves you) sent me and Brenda and the Serial Starter also recommended your first post. I am so glad they did! I enjoyed seeing your lovely work and the original samplers. I can't wait to hear your laugh!!!

A hearty welcome to FlossTube from a small village located 45 miles from Barrington, IL. Congrats on your first video. Well done. I look forward to your future videos and learning more about samplers - with the possibility of an embarrassing laugh noted. Stay well and safe.
Absolutely fabulous video! I look forward to many more! I loved your ornament parade and thoroughly enjoyed seeing your samplers and the history of the girls who stitched them. Just beautiful!!!
Carol!!! I can’t believe you watched my video! I love to see the framed Hannah Cummins on your sampler wall - stunning. I think I enjoy the history of the samplers almost as much as the stitching. I hope you have a lovely Christmas. 🎄
So happy I found your channel through Brenda and the Serial Starter. Welcome to flosstube, you were wonderful. Can't wait to see your next video. Happy holidays, stay safe! Lori at Once Upon a Stitch
Just found you and just love the patterns you have stitched in your collection. I worked in Barrington for the Barrington Fire Department and have lived in the Northern part of Illinois for most of my life. What a small world. Plan on watching your flosstube channel more. Happy holidays.
Oh wow! Yes, what a small world. Did you work opposite the library? I lived very close by! I have loved reminiscing about my time in Barrington this past couple of weeks. I hope to take my children to visit one day. Thank you for watching! ❤️
Very enjoyable video! I too have stitched the Santa of the Forest in the 1990's but it took until last Christmas to get it framed! It's hanging next to my christmas tree at the moment. Looking forward to your next episode and seeing more of your beautiful stitching. Best wishes and happy stitching from Herefordshire.
Was directed here by Laura of Brenda and the Serial Starter....so enjoyed your video! Your work is beautiful....will be going over to your website to look around!
Such pretty designs! I have a sampler called Hannah Sanderson 1849 from Dutch Treat Designs. They provide 2 different color ways for it, one being in the darker, more true-to-the-original palette & the other being a lighter interpretation that was created by Needleworker magazine when they featured it in 1998. It’s a gorgeous sampler!
You are an absolute and utter delight! I watched #2 yesterday and #1 today. Unlike your children, I want to hear your "embarrassing" laugh. Keep the FlossTubes coming!!
Lisa! The blogging days. Do you still update your blog? I haven’t for a few years now. I remember a post used to take me ages to do! Have a lovely Christmas. 🎄
@@WhilstIrisNaps sadly, no I haven’t updated mine in ages. I do update my Instagram though! It’s definitely quicker than the blog used to be. I hope you have a lovely Christmas too, dear friend! ❤️
I just found your Flosstube and I'm so glad that I did. I love your pieces and your "how I got started stitching" story. And you lived in Barrington! That's just a bit down the road from where I live now. We have sun, snow, and cold at the moment here. It's a pretty day. What a small world this is, eh?
Spectacular video! Just gorgeous stitching...glad you joined the floss tube community! Your love of stitching certainly shows will look forward to more....love your reproductions!!🤗♥️
Welcome to floss tube. So glad you are here. Just love your beautiful stitching and designs. What a wonderful gift to find a sampler that's somehow connected to you and what beautiful gifts to leave your children. Can't wait till your next floss tube. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!🎄🎄🎄🎄Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much, Linda! ❤️ My children enjoy learning about the girls that stitched my samplers and they each have a firm favourite! They have all started to cross stitch, too. Merry Christmas and a very happy and healthy new year. 🎄
Your'e adorable! Those children are just too honest, but you have to appreciate their willingness to help you with your first video! The video was excellent. I am sure that they will agree that you did a spot on job. Very entertaining and informative and you have great talent and creativity. Love all the samplers that you shared.
Absolutely delighted to see your first FlossTube video! You are a natural and I just loved seeing your stitching and hearing about your reproduction sampler designs. Looking forward to your next episode! 🥰 Donna Rae
Thank you for your video and how lovely another UK stitcher. Pam and Steph on just keep stitching gave you a shout out . It is so wonderful to see the stitching community growing like this. I will certainly head over to your website as I love these samplers and look forward to many more floss tube updates. Stay safe and well.
So lovely to hear another UK floss tuber. You did a fabulous job. Can’t wait for your next one. Love your samplers, definitely on my to do list. I’m in South Yorkshire so not too far away. Well done!
What a wonderful video! Great stories and wonderful charts. You showed a couple of ornaments that I must go and try to find. Thank you! and I love your sampler charts. I have a few in mind to start in 2021. Thank you so much and I look forward to your next video!!
Thank you so much for watching and leaving a lovely comment. ❤️ I’m pleased you liked the ornaments. I really like the JCS Christmas ornament issues. Such good value.
So lovely to hear from a Northern lass on Flosstube. Fabulous first video - can't wait for another recording. Lesley @duckpoollane (Newcastle upon Tyne) :)
Oooohhh, even further north! I did my teacher training up there...West Denton and then Windy Nook (love that name!). Have a lovely Christmas, Lesley. 🎄
What a joy to watch your first floss tube video, I am off to discover your designs, I found you through Brenda and Laura's video. Thank you so much for sharing your life time love of cross stitch, I adored hearing your history with our craft. Looking forward to more from you when time permits. Happy stitching to you.
Well done, Christina! You are a natural! Your children gave you the best advice. I love all your ornaments, beautiful stitching and finishing! I have really enjoyed watching your reproduction journey. Love the ones you have chosen. Please share again as soon as possible. You are a joy to spend time with, xo, Tricia preb409
Thank you so much for watching, Tricia! ❤️ It was a little nerve racking - having a one-way conversation isn’t the easiest! Lol. I’d better get planning video number 2! 😉
I enjoyed your flosstube very much...thank you for sharing your samplers...and sharing the background of your projects...will look forward to another video...you did an amazing first flosstube...
I enjoyed your first flosstube so much. Your samplers are beautiful and I loved hearing about the history behind them. Now I’m looking forward to your next video 😊
What a wonderful video!! I heard you had made your first video while I was watching Brenda and the Serial Starter so I am thrilled that I took their advice to watch your video. I loved seeing pictures of your countryside and town with the castle; so beautiful. I live in the USA in the Midwest state of Kansas which is largely agricultural and also the home of the Boeing Company who makes jets. I have been stitching since the 70’s and am 73 years old and I live on our family farm. I really enjoyed seeing your beautiful samplers and I am so thrilled that you received your first one for your birthday. I look forward to looking at your website and to seeing many more videos and I would love it if they are longer. LOL. Merry Christmas if you celebrate and blessings to you and your family in the new year to come. Happy stitching and designing................
Thank you so much for watching, Pam and for leaving such a lovely comment. We love living here in North Yorkshire. Where we live is very rural too...more sheep than people! 😉 I never got to visit Kansas when I was in the States - I’d love to visit one day. Have a fantastic Christmas. 🎄
Hi Christina, Welcome to Floss Tube. Great first video. I love your history of stitching, especially that your grandfather did your finishing for you. Your stitching is so beautiful. You are such a prolific stitcher. All of those samplers in one year - wow. I’d love to see how you stitch some time. Congratulations on your first video and I look forward to many more. Kim
Yes, my grandad played a big part in our stitching, too. He was an engineer by trade and his garage workshop was full of tools that came in very useful when finishing our stitching! I think my stitching would be considered ‘old school’. I stitch with a hoop and my fabric has to be drum tight! I’m left handed and I have always, always started at the middle bottom of the chart and work my way up. All of my samplers are stitched this way! Thank you for leaving a lovely comment, Kim. ❤️
Wonderful video. I am also here because of Michelle, Momma Loves You GB. I love samplers, but I also love all the other things as well. I have been stitching since 1980. Loved it then, and love it still. Take care, be safe, have a wonderful Christmas. Quarantine is so boring, but we manage to chug along in our own way. See you next time.
Thank you, Karen. ❤️ Stitching has definitely got me through the numerous lockdowns this year. Here’s hoping for a healthier 2021. Merry Christmas to you, too. 🎄
It was nice to meet you! I have the charts for the BBD and ornament on black as well as some others. Thank you for the idea of stitching that silver ornament on a dark fabric! Your stitching is beautiful and your samplers are stunning! 💕 And thank you for the beautiful freebie drum! I hope to stitch it in January.
Thank you for watching! The black was a bit of a struggle...particularly with the metallic thread (not my favourite!). But I’m so pleased with how it turned out. I should have shown a photo of it on the natural linen too, because it’s just as lovely on that! I look forward to seeing your drum.
I so enjoyed your stories of each sampler. This is what makes history fascinating! Thank you so much much! Now it is time to check out your website. Have a Blessed and Stitchy day!
What a lovely first video and I so hope you will do more videos. Your stitching is amazing. How wonderful that your dear Husband purchased that beautiful sampler and the other antiques you showed today are just amazing. Thanks so much for sharing your talent. Best Wishes from Norma in Boise, Idaho, USA.
Welcome to Flosstube and thank you for doing a video. I have already downloaded the freebie and also purchased at least one chart. I think I need to have them all. So beautiful. Keep the videos coming.
What a lovely first Flosstube. I have loved your designs shown on other Flosstubers' channels but now I am going to hit that swoosh button and get stitching on some of them. Can't wait for the next instalment.
I enjoyed your first video. Loved your pieces and stories of how you began stitching. The reproduction samplers were lovely. I a. Looking forward to your next video.
What a fascinating story both you and your samplers have! I love the idea of finding the past of the girls who stitched these beautiful pieces. Thank you so much for the beautiful freebie! Thank you also for sharing your stitching! A blessed New Year to you and yours, and I cant wait for video #2!
Hello and welcome to Flosstube! Your ornaments are so pretty and your reproduction samplers are beautiful! And your first drum turned out great; All is Calm is a lovely design!
Lovely video. I enjoyed your stitching and your sweet countenance very much. Looking forward to following your creative endeavors 😊. Blessings, Cynthia
Wow you did your kids proud you are a natural. I loved your video and thank you for sharing your beautiful samplers, your work is amazing I’m so glad I found your channel. Already looking forward to your next video. Congratulations, great job!
Thank you for your lovely comment, Mary. Another Mary Jane! I did wonder if my Mary Jane was referred to as Mary Jane or just ‘Mary’. Have a lovely Christmas. 🎄
So glad you took the plunge! Oh my word! The history you shared with those amazing Samplers was such a joy and gift to hear. Thank you! Going to start following you on Instagram too.
I enjoyed this video very much. I loved hearing the stories behind the samplers. You have done beautiful work. Looking forward to stitching up the freebie chart. Thank you.
I love the research you’ve done on the samplers, so fascinating! My great grandmother and her family emigrated from Cheddar when she was 13 so I especially love all things British. Lovely, lovely work!
I am new to watching flosstubers and new to making videos on UA-cam. And I am especially happy to find people creating in the UK. Mostly because I find it so difficult to find supplies here. So I watch eagerly for suggested suppliers etc. Well done with your first video. Love your eclectic collection.
Hi Amy, thanks for watching! I mostly use Peakside Needleworks for my cross stitch charts/fabric. For backing fabric, buttons, bells, ribbon, felt etc I use a fantastic website called Paper & String. ❤️
I am charting an antique sampler that I inherited. I am sure that I spotted a couple of the same motifs in a sampler you showed.I have been looking for old sampler pattern books online and have found a couple more motifs from my sampler in an example from the Fitzwilliam museum collection. The sampler is from 1830 and I am trying to find out where the motifs came from originally. Just for fun as I chart it.
Loved this. My Nanna was called Mary Jane and she used to be a cleaner at Tanfield School which is not far from where I live now in the North East. What a great find, this will have to be a must make for me.
Oh fantastic, Lisa! I had hoped that somebody linked to the area would stitch her. ❤️ 3 sets of my Great Grandparents were from Durham - Carville, Middridge, West Tanfield and Shincliffe. I hope you enjoy stitching her.
Thoroughly enjoyed your first floss tube , your finishes are gorgeous. Hope to see more episodes in the future and hope you share your embarrassing laugh 😂😍
Hello from California! I just found your channel and am so pleased that I did. It’s so wonderful that you’ve rescued those antique samplers and been inspired by them. Mirabilias are some of my favorite designs and I have several though I’ve yet to stitch them. Looking forward to your other videos. ~Elizabeth ❤
Brenda and Laura, of Brenda and the Serial Starter, sent me to your FlossTube and I am so pleased they did! It was a magical treat from beginning to end. I cannot wait to view your next FlossTube video. Merry Christmas! 🎄🎄🎄
What a great video! You are awesome. Love every finish you showed. Can’t wait to see your next video. April, May, June Stitcher recommended you and I am so glad!!
Thank you so much, Marion! I love Ireland and have visited many times. I had a good friend who lived in Blarney. 💚 I’ve kissed the Blarney Stone a few times! 😊
I very much enjoyed your first flosstube. You showed some really awesome stitching. Museum glass would look very nice and there wouldn't be the glare that there is with regular glass. I have liked and subscribed and am looking forward to flosstube #2.
Thank you, Tricia. 😊 Yes, some of my more recent finishes have been finished with museum glass. The reproduction samplers that I have stitched so far don’t have any glass so that they photograph well for the chart front cover. But I think I’ll put glass in the frame before they go on my wall. ❤️
What a fabulous first floss tube Christina! I love all of your projects. (I can’t wait to hear that laugh of yours!!). Stay safe and merry Christmas 🎄, Nicky (in Australia 🇦🇺).
I just watched your first flosstube and I loved it. Someone mentioned you and unfortunately I can’t remember who it was but was so happy when you popped up on my feed! My daughter has the same birthday as you and her children tell her she has a crazy laugh, she also has 3 children! ❤️
Hi I am new to your channel! I’m so happy to meet you, especially since you’re April’s friend 👯♀️. Emily Harben 1824 is my favorite of your designs you shared.
Your samplers are gorgeous, I so enjoyed your first flosstube , please keep them coming you did a fantastic job. Happy Holidays and Happy Stitching Jennifer McMillan
Hope to see you soon too! Simply wonderful video...so very happy you decided to start charting these wonderful pieces. My daughter & family live in Suffolk & hope to make it there this summer....🙏😁💕

Thank you, Karen. ❤️ Stitching has definitely got me through the numerous lockdowns this year. Here’s hoping for a healthier 2021. Merry Christmas to you, too. 🎄
Great video, so good to see you “in person”, I love all your samplers on your website!

Thank you so much, Betty! ❤️
Delightful video! Thank you 😊
Thank you for watching, Brigitte! ❤️
I so enjoyed your stories of each sampler. This is what makes history fascinating! Thank you so much much! Now it is time to check out your website. Have a Blessed and Stitchy day!
Thank you, Kat! I enjoy the historical research almost as much as the stitching! ❤️
What a lovely first video and I so hope you will do more videos. Your stitching is amazing. So glad you took the plunge! Oh my word! The history you shared with those amazing Samplers was such a joy and gift to hear. Thank you! Going to start following you on Instagram too.

Loved watching your first flosstube and will be following you. Fom a fellow UK stitcher.
I love the research you’ve done on the samplers, so fascinating! My great grandmother and her family emigrated from Cheddar when she was 13 so I especially love all things British. Lovely, lovely work!
Thank you so much, Lisa! ❤️
Very relaxed and well done video..not too long..just enough! Subscribed before the end!
Thank you, Kathie! ❤️
So enjoyed your 1st floss tube and truly look forward to more.
Thank you so much, Muriel! ❤️
I am watching in reverse order 🙃, hence the late comment! Fantastic show you are obviously a natural, can’t wait for the next one now! ♥️

I’m so pleased you found my videos, Elizabeth! 💗

Thanks for your video, loved to hear your stories. I'll be waiting for your next video, your finishings are fabulous. Watching you from Ireland.
Thank you so much, Marion! I love Ireland and have visited many times. I had a good friend who lived in Blarney. 💚 I’ve kissed the Blarney Stone a few times! 😊
Loved your floss tube and all your stitches and samplers! Thanks!
Thank you for watching, Pauline! ❤️
Great video! Your samplers are beautiful and the stories about them are so interesting. So glad you made this flosstube. Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you too, Cheryl. 🎄 Thank you for watching!
Beautiful work & so lovely to see another fellow Brit on floss tube. Can't wait to hear you laugh!

Merry Christmas to you too, Nicky! Lovely to hear from a stitcher in Australia. One of my best friends lives in a Brisbane. ❤️
I just watched your first flosstube and I loved it. Someone mentioned you and unfortunately I can’t remember who it was but was so happy when you popped up on my feed! My daughter has the same birthday as you and her children tell her she has a crazy laugh, she also has 3 children! ❤️
Thank you so much for watching, Diane! April 4th seems to be a popular birthday! ❤️
Hi I am new to your channel! I’m so happy to meet you, especially since you’re April’s friend 👯♀️. Emily Harben 1824 is my favorite of your designs you shared.

Thank you so much, Jennifer! I really enjoyed filming it, although it’s a little strange having a one-way conversation! Have a lovely Christmas. 🎄
