Shay's ASMR Because people are idiots. What millennial doesn’t know say, “Wizard of Oz,” “Gone with the Wind,” both “Godfathers,” the first “Star Wars” trilogy, and tons of other great movies? People just don’t think.
I love Michael B. Jordan, and as wonderful as he is in “Black Panther,” he’s done some incredible work prior to that role. In “Fruitvale Station,” which was a small, independent movie, he pretty much commanded most of the screen time. It was a fantastic performance, and one that made me sure he was destined for greatness some day. Looks like I was right.
Daniel Day-lewis as Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood is utterly flawless. When you want a man for intensity in a film your making, Daniel Day Lewis is the man. Much better pick than most of these on here.
Jack in The Shining is one of the best performances of all time. Kubrick broke down his actors the way reality TV breaks down celebrities and gets to the raw heart of them. The acting in The Shining is flawless. You can keep most of the other stuff.
Cadillac Deville they address that in the comment section dude..... Calm down. Plus there are other roles that are just as good that should be acknowledged (hence the video)
Ano Nimous I'm black don't take offense to it, but think his performance was good. I think due to all the buzz it created and so forth. I don't think they included him because of his race, but because of the performance itself. Besides, let's be honest...Ledger's performance was perfect so it shouldn't be included on this list eh? :-)
Ano Nimous dude calm down man. You don't have to like his performance but they didn't put it in here because of his race dude..... They put it in because, regardless of what you thought about the film & his performances, he was one of the better parts of the film (in my opinion) & because (Like with Heath Ledger in his role as The Joker) the role of the villainous Killmonger showcased his acting abilities & range which goes against your opinion of "it didn't show their real potential". That's the whole reason people compare their performances, which they rightfully should as both performances showcased their acting abilities & range. Regardless if you liked the film or not is your opinion but leave the "Oh they just put him because of his race & not his performance" bullshit out man. Its unnecessary. You have your opinions but in no way should that be one man. Come on. P.s. its called Creed..... Not Rocky
Ano Nimous I have some problems with this & I will keep them as civil as possible. Not trying to get into an argument over an opinion but considering your whole opinion on "Killmonger is a typical villain" is VERY poor & ignorant & its VERY obvious you didn't pay attention to the character at all so here is what's wrong with it. 1( "it wasn't emotional"..... Dude he was the most emotional part about the film. & no offense but you clearly haven't faced similar, if not THE EXACT same problems that he did if you think he wasn't emotional or in anyway sympathetic. He grew up in poverty & saw (as it is referenced in the film) people dying all around him. He knows about Wakanda & the resources it has to help people out but T'Challa refuses as it is their tradition to close themselves off from the rest of the world. He goes through life hoping one day that they will help him, as he is of Wakanda Royalty, but it never comes & he grows up with that anger. That alone makes him sympathetic as there are people who will watch the film & immediately relate to him growing up in poverty knowing that there are people out in the world who can help but choose not to. They rightfully will not agree with his extremist "race war" plan that he comes up with but people will understand where he is coming from & see that his anger is justified. He grows up & chooses to continue his fathers plan. Only difference is he took his fathers plan & put a more extremist view on it & planned to commit genocide. & in the end, it is HIS actions that cause T'Challa to realize how wrong he was. He realizes that he needs to help with the rest of the world. He changes his ways at the end of the film & starts helping those in greater need, as we as a whole should. "Fool build barriers, the wise build bridges" T'Challa is the example of Privilege & Power how it can give you tunnel vision & force you to make the wrong decisions & again Killmonger's actions is what causes T'Challa to see how wrong he was. 2("just another typical villain"......umm no he isn't. The typical villain is someone who just comes along, wants to destroy/rule the world & is then later defeated by the hero. Ironically, Loki is an example of a Typical Villain. His character wasn't given a more complex backstory until his redemption arc in Thor: The Dark World. What makes Heath Ledger's Joker so great & complex is not only because of Heath's amazing performance but also because of how his actions took a toll on Bruce Wayne/Batman. & That is what makes Killmonger so great & complex. & yes Heath's performance as the Joker will always be the better one between the 2. There is no doubt about that but the whole reason that I think a lot of people, including you, are missing is that, like Heath Ledger, Michael B. Jordan took a comic-book character & made it his own & gave probably one of the best performances of his career & he deserves recognition for that. 3("villain that most of us will forget soon"......umm yeah that's not going to happen seeing how you & a lot of other fragile & ignorant minded people like to get online & talk about how much y'all hate the character & talk about how "racist" the film is, even though it address the problems WITH racism..... But y'all keep being ignorant & hating on a character you clearly didn't pay attention to. & don't take this personal but your clearly a part of the audience who just does not know what the hell y'all want. You say "Marvel has a villain problem. We want more complex & sympathetic villains with a relatable backstory" & now that Marvel has given you that not once but twice (Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Or was he not emotional enough for ya???) You just write them off as a "typical villain"....... Y'all don't know what the fuck y'all want so just shut up & let the common folks who enjoy it, enjoy it. PS. "It was part of "Rocky Universe";)" .....right but "Rocky" & "Creed" are two separate movies & characters.... That's what I was getting at Ben Shapiro.....
Ano Nimous calm down dude. First) I wasn't trying to push anything on you dude..... You stated your opinion on it & I stated mine while mentioning some of the problems I had with yours. I wasn't trying to say "your opinion is wrong" or anything. & you said "His performance wasn't any good" & threw in the "They only added him in because of his race" bullshit card. I calmly explained WHY they threw his performance in here & since that performance happens to be about the character of Killmonger, I felt as if I had to explain his character (the whole reason for him being on here) in order for you to understand why they, rightfully, put him in here, while also listing off my problems with your other opinions like "He's just a typical villain". If you didn't like his performance (which you clearly didn't) then that's fine dude. I personally liked his performance & believe its one of his best performances yet. "Its just you being emotional about a fictional character" um.......no it wasn't. I even stated at the begining of my comment that I would be civil in discussing my problems with your opinion. I wasn't in no way getting emotional at all man. You must of read too deep into my comment. Sorry if I upset you dude but was the "Get a life man" part even necessary?? I would like to add that your telling me to get a life but at the same time your getting pretty riled up about a comment...... Look again, I'm sorry for clearly upsetting you by trying to explain my opinion on why I think his performance of the character should be on here. Best wishes. No reply necessary man. I think you have said enough. Damn
These are unlikely choices. Interesting picks nonetheless. Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler, Heath Ledger as Joker, Joaquin Phoenix as Joker, Leonardo DiCaprio in Wolf of Wall Street, Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter, Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman and Anthony Perkins in Psycho are my favourites.
You should add: Eddie Redmayne - The Theory of Everything Anthony Hopkins - Hannibal Christian Bale - The Machinist Brad Renfro - The Client Haley Joel Osment - The Sixth Sense Ed Norton - Fight Club Michael Fassbender - Shame, X-Men first class RDJ - Iron Man Leonardo DiCaprio - Catch me if you can (and Heath Ledger, of course)
Not to mention she didn't even get nominated for the proper category. Such a joke. I really want to know what the people in charge of that were thinking when they nominated her for "supporting actress"
She quite literally made that movie worth watching. Apart from her I thought it was mediocre, with her it’s was an amazing period film. SHE had True Grit
Based on this list, its clearly that these performances are from movies that are no older than 5 years.... which is a shame. Tittle is totally misleading cuz these ain't the top flawless movie performances of all time
Aeon - Yep, 5 years, just about when Pulp Fiction and Misery came out... ^^ I'm totally fine with thinking that those are not exhaustively THE BEST off all times (which the title never pretended it was, so I don't get the "misleading") but half of those movies are still older than 5 years. And for the others, I understand the need for most youtube channels to stay relevant to a young audience.
Fiennes was better in Schindler's list - that was a masterpiece! And also an English pacient, Onegin, etc... Ralph Fiennes played in plenty magnificent movies!
@@MissSlovakia2 I agree with you about the stellar quality of Ralph's work throughout his career, and his performance in SL is flawless. But he was overlooked for his hilarious work in "Grand Budapest"; he was brilliant and absolutely owned the role.
Speaking of young actors in an astounding feature film debut, I feel I have to bring up Dafne Keen from Logan. Her portrayal of Laura Kinney/X-23 was flawless. Despite not having all that much dialog Keen sold the character's sadness and despair in the quiet moments as well as her unbridled rage and fury in the fight scenes, which made an already really good film a truly great experience. I look forward to seeing what she can do in future films (even if she isn't X-23 again).
Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over, Lee J. Cobb in 12 Angry Men, Daniel Day Lewis in There Will be Blood, Philip Seymour Hoffman in Magnolia and De Niro in The King of Comedy.
One Punch Man i highly doubt it. Id seen Ledger's performances earlier in some other movies and didn't see anything special. But his acting as Joker was simply exceptional. Maybe he wasn't a great actor overall, but did a superb job as the Joker.
One Punch Man I will be honest here. When I first watch The Dark Knight, I loved it. Thought everyone did a great job but I too thought that Heath Ledger was kinda getting more recognition because of his death. But I recently went back & watch his older movies & then watch him in The Dark Knight & I think he was a great actor but his performance in The Dark Knight is absolutely his best.
Fast talking sassy Maddy Ross character in True Grit played by Hailey Steinfeld hands down, is the most impressive and perfect performance I have ever seen, from any actor young to old. Teared up the entire movie.
The fact that you didn't include Heath Ledger's utter reinvention of the Joker, a character already iconic in film and print, is absolutely baffling to me. Absolutely, absolutely baffling.
Remember watching Hailee Steinfeld in True Grit at the age of 16 when it first came out. She was so good, i actually teared up. I don’t tear up often now and certainly didn’t as a teen. I see she’s playing in a movie, i watch it. She’s a special talent
Ryan West yet a marvel role is included for some reason , out of the many masterpieces like chinatown , shawshank redemption , taxi driver , the revenant and many more , they chose black panther , an entertaining silly film
Whenever I see JK Simmons in an angry role, I see him as Schillinger from Oz. That show was so good and he had some of the best performances of the whole series. I loved that they put Hailey Steinfeld (hope I got that last name right). When I first saw True Grit in the theater, I was convinced she would get the Oscar. I still think she deserved it.
Joaquin Phoenix in The Master Adrien Brody in The Pianist Charlize Theron in Monster Gena Rowlands in A Woman Under the Influence Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight Jack Nicholson in The Shining Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler and Prisoners Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men Tom Cruise in Magnolia Sam Rockwell in Three Billboards Ryan Gosling in Drive Bradley Cooper in The Place Beyond the Pines Christian Bale in American Psycho
Brando in The Godfather, Hopkins in Silence of The Lambs and Day-Lewis in My Left Foot are what I consider to be the top 3 performances. Not sure of the order though. And, of course, De Niro in Raging Bull.
Daniel Day-Lewis is a living embodiment of an Academy Award so it's impossible to pick his best performance but my soft spot is with Daniel Plainview ❤
Excellent call! Though you could almost argue Edward Furlong belongs in this conversation, as well. He was equally as amazing. If only it had better acting across the board, particularly on the Neo Nazi side of things. There's just something about the writing and acting in those scenes that makes the movie feel incomplete, but in a way that only adds to the brilliance of Edward Norton's performance. Had it been any other actor, I don't think it would've had nearly the same impact.
Kathy Bathes as Annie Wilkes is really the only performance on this list that's perfect. Sure, the others are fine, a few really good even, but Kathy Bathes is sooo scary in Misery it's ridiculous.
Your remark was the best of all these other posters screaming, "where is Heath Ledger?. Heath's performance was perfect, you cannot find a flaw in anything he did, maybe these guys should make another list, The Actually Perfect Performances in Movie History.
Michael fassbender as magneto Jackie earle haley as rorschach Bryan cranston as walter white Michael C hall as dexter Josh Brolin as Thanos Adam driver as kylo ren andy serkis as gollum Those are some of my favorites
I was going to say that _"J.K Simmons should be on here as J Johan Jameson"_ but I guess that wouldn't make sense... Because that performance wasn't _"practically perfect"_ *_It was_* fucking perfect!
Excellent, EXCELLENT suggestions. But where does Heath Ledger's Joker fit into that list? I'll need to know that before I subscribe to your newsletter.
Ryan West All The Performances I've Mentioned Are Extremely Underrated BUT Heath Ledger As The Joker Is Already Got The Fame And The Recognition That He Deserves , That's What I Think .
What... this list isn't "movie performances that are the most underrated", it's "movie performances that are practically flawless". By definition, the amount of press they get is flatly irrelevant.
Gosling came up in one of these threads a few months ago; The Nice Guys is an exceptional movie - even though it shouldn't be. Because of the acting of RG and RC is what elevates it into a thing. True Grit also exceptional when it shouldn't really be - it wasn't Brolin who was pulling people in, you have to remember at that point everybody had basically forgotten who he is; it was Gangster Squad and Sicario that rebooted his career.
Connor McCartney your looking at it the wrong way. They are praising Michael B. Jordan's performance of the character, not the character himself..... & honestly, seeing how talented Michael B. Jordan is, had they have chosen any other character (besides Killmonger) that he has played, there wouldn't be this many complaints about it. Not saying there won't be any, just saying that there wouldn't be as much. I personally think his performance was great &, like the role of The Joker was for Heath Ledger, the role of Killmonger was a role that showcased his acting abilities & range. Plus I clearly remember a lot of people bitching when it was announced that Heath was set to play the character & then he came out to be the best character in the film. With that being said, they should have still added Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker on here but, in my opinion, both actors & their performance deserve to be on here. Regardless, this list has a bunch of other performances on here that also deserve attention, & there are obviously more than 10 but that's one of the difficulties of making a list like this is that not everyone will agree with the list. No matter what they put on the list, there will always be those people that don't agree & will hypocritically comment "looks like a biased list to me" when they themselves would most likely be biased when making their list. You can't please anyone these days. Well this comment went off on a Tangent xD
Connor McCartney while that is understandable, it is, & don't take this as a jab or attack or anything, but still your opinion on it. The praise that his performance has been given has divided people into either liking his performance or not liking it. Some of it goes as far as to where people only see it as a "race thing" & he is only getting praise BECAUSE of his race & I personally think that is a very selfish & ignorant way of looking at it. It also goes far where there are even people who not only don't like his performance but they really don't like seeing his performance being compared to Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker & I can see both sides of that. However like I said before, Heath took the role of Joker & showed all the people bitching about his casting that he was the perfect choice & he gave a DAMN good performance & showcased just how much of a good actor he was. While that isn't the case here as there wasn't any complaint's with Michael's casting, I still believe, in my opinion, that he, like Heath, showcased a side of his acting abilities & range that we had never seen from him before (we saw a little bit of it in Creed & Fruitvale Station) & that's why I believe he deserves to be on this list just as much as Heath does. I wish they could both be on it but again I have no problem with Michael being on it. Again, that's my opinion on it. I still respect your opinion regardless though man. That's why I said "don't take this as a jab". I didn't want you to immediately think I was trying to attack your opinion.
Heath ledger in The Dark knight Katharine Hepburn in the lion in winter Jessica lange in frances Faye dunaway in Chinatown Halle berry in introducing Dorothy dandridge Henry fonda in on golden pond Anthony Perkins in psycho Sissy spacek in Carrie Viola Davis in the help Anthony Hopkins In the silence of the lambs
@@cicjose6016 No, it clashed with the movie in parts, standing apart rather than lifting it up. Lion in Winter was better. In my opinion, of course, you're entitled to your own.
Tom Hardy in Locke [2013] DiCaprio in Shutter Island [2010] Ryan Gosling in Blue Valentine [2010] Natalie Portman in Black Swan [2010] Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler [2014] Ulrich Muhe in Das Leben der Anderen [2006] Rosamund Pike in Gone Girl [2014]
Dustin Hoffman and Kevin Spacey are two of my favorite actors - Sally Field and Patty Duke are two great actresses that leave Meryl Streep and others in their shadow. Of course, Dustin, Sally and Patty have been around for a while, but unfortunately forgotten.
One of the few films that I actually thought I liked better than the book, and thats saying something because I loved that book. Both blew the first film out of the water even though John Waynes the man.
Downey Jr. in the first Iron Man. I generally don't care for superhero films, but damn he's good in that. The opening scenes in the Humvee are mesmerizing.
I'm so glad that Killmonger was here, though Tom Hiddleston as Loki should've been on the list, as well. His performance in Thor (2011) was by far the best thing about that film. A truly flawless performance that is the key reason for Loki's incredible success as a character. Played by anyone else, Loki would've been just as forgettable as most of Marvel's lackluster lineup of villains.
- Brad Pitt in 'Se7en' - DiCaprio in 'Django Unchained' - Hailee Steinfeld in 'Edge Of Seventeen' - James Dean in 'Rebel Without A Cause' - Christian Bale in 'American Psycho' - Blake Lively in 'The Town'
What other flawless performances should've made this list? We're going to have to go with The Joker.
Anthony Hopkins’ Hannibal Lecter
hayden Christensen from Episode 2
Kirsten Dunst in Interview with a Vampire, Dafne Keen in Logan, Christina Ricci in the second Addams Family - I guess I tend to recognize remarkable child actor performances more because extremely good performances are not typical for that age group.
Dozens - yearly, worldwide. Specify your question, please. Years, countries, movie genres, etc.
Yes Heath Ledger as the Joker was the best fit possible, it's too bad it ultimately ended such a great actors career so tragically...
Leonardo DiCaprio in What's Eating Gilbert Grape. He deserved an Academy Award for a lot of things, but that's number one for me.
Definitely should of been his first oscar

Charles Jannuzi he was so good that when he arrived at the academy awards everyone expected him to actually be mentally challenged
Hailee Steinfeld was robbed of an Oscar. Being able to carry well established talented actors at such a young age really is true grit
I love the little pun you gave at the end. 👏
That movie was amazing. As much as I love the original, the reboot was better.
I call that bold talk for a one eyed fat man.
I remember thinking it’s not right that Hailee Steinfeld doesn’t have her name come first or even second in the credits, just because she’s a non-famous minor at this point.

Heath Ledger (The Joker)

Jack in The Shining is one of the best performances of all time. Kubrick broke down his actors the way reality TV breaks down celebrities and gets to the raw heart of them. The acting in The Shining is flawless. You can keep most of the other stuff.
Of all things, you left off Heath Ledger? Nonsense
Damn
Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting
literally just watched it finally for the first time. Totally agree, he sold that role 100%
@@FecalMattur i think he was even better in Bicentennial Man
Robin Williams in any role
I thought it was "Farewell Mr. Bunting".
Christoph Waltz in Django unchained and Inglorious Bastards... flawless performances! The ones that are on here are very solid as well! Good list!
Adrien Brody in the Pianist was a top performance
Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler)
Dafne Keen (Logan)
Alicia Vikander (Ex Maquina)
Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight)
Robert DeNiro (Taxi Driver)
Viola Davis' performance in 'The Help' anyone? She was unbelievable in that!!!! 😍😍😍
JD Z many actresses in "the help." Great movie.
JD Z
Octavia Spencer and Jessica Chaistain were sublime too!
I caught Viola Davis playing a lawyer on Law & Order today. She’s pretty much unbelievable no matter what she does. 😍
Viola Davis in everything she’s in lol
ikr. I love the whole movie and the cast!
Tommy Wiseau from the Room
Or better yet, James Franco in the Disaster Artist.
blocked
*i did not hit her*
cheep cheep cheep cheep
I DID NAHH
Leo DiCaprio in ‘what’s eating Gilbert Grape’
You should add:
Eddie Redmayne - The Theory of Everything
Anthony Hopkins - Hannibal
Christian Bale - The Machinist
Brad Renfro - The Client
Haley Joel Osment - The Sixth Sense
Ed Norton - Fight Club
Michael Fassbender - Shame, X-Men first class
RDJ - Iron Man
Leonardo DiCaprio - Catch me if you can
(and Heath Ledger, of course)
Hailey Steinfeld was robbed of an Oscar.
*I think they are missing all of Nicolas Cage's performances*
He is actually an great actor and his Oscar winning performance is outstanding
This is getting too old. Cage is a good actor btw, regardless to his late misfortunes.
I actually think he is a great actor in his low budget movie, if he was playing my 11 year old sister.
1=national treasure 3
MWH Except that when he’s bad, he is REALLY bad.
There needs to be a motion capture category in the Oscars just for Andy Serkis. And leaving Heath Ledger out of this list was just unforgiving
His name is mud right now but Kevin Spacey in "American Beauty." He was absolutely hilarious.
Taron Egerton's performance in Rocketman was the finest acting I've ever seen. Heartbreakingly beautiful!
You're so right about Hailey Steinfeld
so wrong *
Natalie Portman for Black Swan?
Saigon Videos i was just about to say that
AND the Professional! I mean - she is great!
I strongly agree
Based on this list, its clearly that these performances are from movies that are no older than 5 years.... which is a shame. Tittle is totally misleading cuz these ain't the top flawless movie performances of all time
Aeon - Yep, 5 years, just about when Pulp Fiction and Misery came out... ^^
I'm totally fine with thinking that those are not exhaustively THE BEST off all times (which the title never pretended it was, so I don't get the "misleading") but half of those movies are still older than 5 years.
And for the others, I understand the need for most youtube channels to stay relevant to a young audience.
Tommy Wiseau (Johnny)
Oh hi Mark!!! - Best line of all time
everybody betray me..... i am fed up of this Worold......
How could they miss that?!
I did not hit her! I did not. Oh hi Mark!
Ayden McGee ❤
A better title for this would be "A Random Selection of Recent Movie Performances."
Recent Hollywood movie performances
Right. It as nothing to do with the actual quality of real performance and everything to do with current pop culture references.
Ralph Fiennes in the Grand Budapest Hotel
Michael Fassbender in X-Men First Class
Christoph Waltz in Inglorious Basterds
Fiennes was better in Schindler's list - that was a masterpiece! And also an English pacient, Onegin, etc... Ralph Fiennes played in plenty magnificent movies!
Thank you. Ralph was robbed of an Oscar nom for his performance in "Budapest." He was absolutely hilarious.
@@MissSlovakia2 I agree with you about the stellar quality of Ralph's work throughout his career, and his performance in SL is flawless. But he was overlooked for his hilarious work in "Grand Budapest"; he was brilliant and absolutely owned the role.
@@cherylhulting1301 yes, you're right. He was great, but those movies I've mentioned are my favorites. But yeah, he's great actor.
Hailee Steinfeld should've won the Oscar that year.
Josh Skudlarek and
how. that movie is boring and average which means no acting role in it should get much praise.
Ryan Gosling was really good in The Nice Guys, one of his best performances.
Johan Lebbing
Agreed, along with Half Nelson and Lars and the Real Girl
I think Gosling is an amazing actor but while Nice Guys is entertaining, Fracture and Drive are better showcases of what he can do.
His high pitched screams were great
Lars and the real Girl was absolutely brilliant
In the clips from that movie, Russell Crow kind of resembles John Goodman a bit.
Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over, Lee J. Cobb in 12 Angry Men, Daniel Day Lewis in There Will be Blood, Philip Seymour Hoffman in Magnolia and De Niro in The King of Comedy.
Ok .. listen up ... here comes Split or Glass .. with Genius Actor James McAvoy .. Top
As much as it sounds silly, Alicia Silverstone was absolutely perfect for Clueless. She perfectly embodies the role
it's true
Quite disappointed in the exclusion of Heath Ledger’s Joker.
Brian Percival
Its because it was perfect !!
Brian Percival he's overrated because of Ledger's death.
One Punch Man i highly doubt it. Id seen Ledger's performances earlier in some other movies and didn't see anything special. But his acting as Joker was simply exceptional. Maybe he wasn't a great actor overall, but did a superb job as the Joker.
Apple Peel he was amazing in Brokeback mountain .... An Absolutely breathtaking performance
Anthony Sharp plus it was her first movie
"Wait, are we trading again!?"
Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, can't imagine any other actor pulling off that role.
"I had to question the mermaids" - Gosling nailed that scene. I laughed for 5 minutes straight.
Have to throw Natalie Portman in The Professional in there. That was also her first acting gig and that performance alone made her a star.
The fact that you didn't include Heath Ledger's utter reinvention of the Joker, a character already iconic in film and print, is absolutely baffling to me. Absolutely, absolutely baffling.
Ryan West that movie is overrated
King in the North but the praise of his performance is not
This list says" Practically Flawless", Ledger was Completely Flawless! He actually doesn't belong on this list anyway!
May be they were referring to American actors in their list
you did a great mistake forgetting heath ledger as joker
AIL-Sky Uprising idk what the fuck they were thinking by forgetting that
Or that his performance is overrated as hell.
SanninShiMa
Its absolutely not.
Maybe hes performance wasn't that great
And what are you going to do about it?
Eddie Redmayne as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, the way he cried when Jane said “I have loved you”
Remember watching Hailee Steinfeld in True Grit at the age of 16 when it first came out. She was so good, i actually teared up. I don’t tear up often now and certainly didn’t as a teen.
I see she’s playing in a movie, i watch it. She’s a special talent
You're just scratching the surface. So many fantastic performances from so many great films.
I mean, that's sort of what you have to do when you're picking a list of the best.
Ryan West yet a marvel role is included for some reason , out of the many masterpieces like chinatown , shawshank redemption , taxi driver , the revenant and many more , they chose black panther , an entertaining silly film
Best is a subjective term. There really is not such thing. A more accurate title would be, "Some of our Favorite Performances".
Dudes, do you _really_ have to have the constant annoying music in the background? It has to go.
Doctor Quackenbush I didn't notice how annoying it was until i read this. :( lol
Denzel Washington- Training Day
Robert Downey Jr. in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is one of my favorite roles of all time. He's amazing in it. But Ledger as the Joker is acting perfection.
Joaquin Phoenix in The Master
Adrien Brody in The Pianist
Charlize Theron in Monster
Gena Rowlands in A Woman Under the Influence
Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight
Jack Nicholson in The Shining
Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting
Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler and Prisoners
Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood
Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men
Tom Cruise in Magnolia
Sam Rockwell in Three Billboards
Ryan Gosling in Drive
Bradley Cooper in The Place Beyond the Pines
Christian Bale in American Psycho
Water Hazard Hugh Jackman is prisoners was great too as well as Jake Gyllenhaal in Donnie Darko
Water Hazard this.
No need to put them on this list since the actors you've mentioned already won an Oscar. It's already a testament of how great they are.
Nicholson in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Water Hazard I love you.
Brando in The Godfather, Hopkins in Silence of The Lambs and Day-Lewis in My Left Foot are what I consider to be the top 3 performances. Not sure of the order though.
And, of course, De Niro in Raging Bull.
honestly this whole list could be just all of daniel day lewis performances. He's fantastic
Pacino >>>>>>>>>>> Brando
Miss X how stupid are you?
Daniel Day-Lewis is a living embodiment of an Academy Award so it's impossible to pick his best performance but my soft spot is with Daniel Plainview ❤
Daniel Day Lewis in everything 😂
Edward Norton - American History X
I'm glad someone finally said Edward Norton
He is great in everything
One of the best roles of the century, and probably of all time
@@illmatticx definitely! I can't forget his monolog - that scene was something out of this world!
Denzel Washington in MAN ON FIRE WAS PERFECT
Did you even bother to read the book? ... he was NOT the part, sorry. It was a bloody good book, and was very let down by the screenplay.
Daniel Day Lewis as Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood
The best ❤
Daniel Day Lewis in pretty much any film he has done.
@C. J. Neumann, I know right. Basically any role D.D.L. portrays is perfection.
The butcher!
I liked his performance more in Gangs of New York.
Kathy Bathes as Annie Wilkes is really the only performance on this list that's perfect. Sure, the others are fine, a few really good even, but Kathy Bathes is sooo scary in Misery it's ridiculous.
ZeppelinBigFan Delores Claiborne
Heath Ledger joker is not on this list because that performance was flawless
Your remark was the best of all these other posters screaming, "where is Heath Ledger?. Heath's performance was perfect, you cannot find a flaw in anything he did, maybe these guys should make another list, The Actually Perfect Performances in Movie History.
Daniel Day Lewis in anything is FLAWLESS. I’ll give $100 to someone who can find flaw in his acting
Michael fassbender as magneto
Jackie earle haley as rorschach
Bryan cranston as walter white
Michael C hall as dexter
Josh Brolin as Thanos
Adam driver as kylo ren
andy serkis as gollum
Those are some of my favorites
I was going to say that _"J.K Simmons should be on here as J Johan Jameson"_ but I guess that wouldn't make sense... Because that performance wasn't _"practically perfect"_ *_It was_* fucking perfect!
Madness1845 Oh, we were all wondering...
*_+IDKTBHable_* Are you lost? lol
Hailee not getting the oscar that year pisses me off to this day.
Jake Gyllenhaal In Nightcrawler
Joaquin Phoenix In The Master
James McAvoy In Split
Colin Farrell In In Bruges
Christian bale In American Psycho
I feel like In Bruges is often forgotten/underrated, definitely one of the best movies made after year 2000.
Markus I Agree With You
Excellent, EXCELLENT suggestions.
Raul Julia in Street Fighter, seriously the scene where he remembers Tuesday is so perfectly delivered.
And he was dying from cancer
Gosling came up in one of these threads a few months ago; The Nice Guys is an exceptional movie - even though it shouldn't be. Because of the acting of RG and RC is what elevates it into a thing. True Grit also exceptional when it shouldn't really be - it wasn't Brolin who was pulling people in, you have to remember at that point everybody had basically forgotten who he is; it was Gangster Squad and Sicario that rebooted his career.
Making a video about flawless performances and not including Heath Ledger's joker in it is a crime against humanity.
shrekislove1289 not really lol
Somehow they think Kilmonger deserves it more.
John Perry well aware of that and didn't think it was that good.
Edward Norton in "Primal Fear" Was his first movie as well.
Omg! Kathy Bates.. I was so scared after watching Misery (I was very young). She was also very good in Titanic!
Andy Serkis is underappreciated. He deserves an Oscar.
Heath ledger in The Dark knight
Katharine Hepburn in the lion in winter
Jessica lange in frances
Faye dunaway in Chinatown
Halle berry in introducing Dorothy dandridge
Henry fonda in on golden pond
Anthony Perkins in psycho
Sissy spacek in Carrie
Viola Davis in the help
Anthony Hopkins In the silence of the lambs
Katherine Hepburn in The African Queen was her best performance
@@cicjose6016 No, it clashed with the movie in parts, standing apart rather than lifting it up. Lion in Winter was better.
In my opinion, of course, you're entitled to your own.
Val Kilmer Doc Holiday
Tom Hardy in Locke [2013]

Ryan Gosling in Blue Valentine [2010]
Natalie Portman in Black Swan [2010]
Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler [2014]

Leonardo De Caprio as Arnie in What's Eating Gilbert Grape... perfection
Steinfeld should have been nominated for Best Actress and not Best supporting ...she was in every scene bar the last. Should have won it too.
I couldn't agree more. OSCAR sucks. I think it's all politics and shit.
Dustin Hoffman and Kevin Spacey are two of my favorite actors - Sally Field and Patty Duke are two great actresses that leave Meryl Streep and others in their shadow. Of course, Dustin, Sally and Patty have been around for a while, but unfortunately forgotten.
Natalie Portman and Jean Reno in "Leon" - both performances were real flawless
True grit remake was an amazing flick
One of the few films that I actually thought I liked better than the book, and thats saying something because I loved that book. Both blew the first film out of the water even though John Waynes the man.
Benji Judd i didnt even know it was a book. I have to go check that out
Steve Ross Good thing Hailee was carrying the film. She knocked it out of the park.
As are all Coen brother's.
I agree with Steve Ross - Bridge's performance is a huge flaw in an otherwise great film.
Downey Jr. in the first Iron Man. I generally don't care for superhero films, but damn he's good in that. The opening scenes in the Humvee are mesmerizing.
The Nice guys is soooo underrated.i love every frame of this movie.
Misery was so horrific (i.e., brilliantly performed), that I couldn't finish the movie. Yes, it was the leg smashing scene that terrified me.
*Natalie Portman* as Matilda in _Leon The Professional_
yuuup
*Denzel Washington* brings _A_ game to every movie he's in.
Hailee Steinfeld also got a Oscar Nomination for her role in True Grit
not a movie, but charles dance as tywin lannister in game of thrones
Cersei is also one
That entire show was well cast.
Peter Dinklage was 👌👌👌👌👌
Hard to get that image out of my mind of him giving a stern piece to camera while simultaneously gutting a deer. Wow.
You're talking about flawless performances and you don't include even one Daniel Day Lewis's performance??
Sarthak Dubey He’s extremely overrated, and most of his movies are incredibly boring (There Will Be Blood).
Michael Holly YOU'RE RIGHT. THANKS
DDL owns the screen every time he is up there.
Michael Holly, you got a comedy special on netflix or something ..cos you make laugh
Amen! "There will be Blood" was pretty freaking flawless.
Sissy Spacek as Carrie is pitch perfect.
Yeah but Sissy Spacek was 27 when she made that movie. Hailee Steinfeld was 14 when she made True Grit so....
Tom Ripley and Piper Laurie! Her crazy was palpable and terrifying.
Loki >>>>> Killmonger (for me)
Agreed
Loki is something else
