    Very nice pond grads on that and it's nice to se a different design beside the liner using ponds, since i have not much room in my yard i will probably do the same technique when the time has come. :)

    Very nice pond mate, I'm in the process of rejuvenating our garden and a pond is top of the list (after the patio and lawn improvements to keep the Mrs happy). What made you choose render and sealer over liner? I'm thinking of using the same method as I don't fancy having to replace a liner in 15-20 years time......

    • @kingdude400
      @kingdude400  9 років тому

      Glad you like the pond mate!, for me I'v never been a fan of the liner as i feel it looks cheap but with the G4 sealer it gives it a lovely gold finish and as I have a UV attached to the pond as well the water is crystal clear and the gold G4 gives it such a nice finish, you can get different G4 sealer with different colours but I recommend gold very nice, hope this helps and happy ponding!!!!

    How much did this project cost you? Including labour and materials?

  • @will9603
    @will9603 9 років тому +4

    you need to put some rocks or pipes in the pond for the fish to hide, in the vid they are where they are because they don't wan to be in the open... Great vid and pond

    • @kingdude400
      @kingdude400  9 років тому +3

      Cheers for the comment, I was thinking about putting a koi cave in the pond but if one of your fish end up getting ill they tend to go into the pond cave and it could die in there, then you might not no if it's dead or not and then the hassle of fishing it out so I went with not going with it in the end.

      Mr Bunts That's fair enough, what about plants for shade which is another great way without the hassle of what you described?

    Please don't take me for rude, but how much did all this set you back? I'm currently in the planning stages. Your back yard has a tranquil ambience to it.

    • @kingdude400
      @kingdude400  9 років тому +1

      thanks for the comment we were very lucky to have a family member with all the tools and digger etc we needed to dig out the pond so dont know how much that will be to hire out.
      what will set u back will be the materials like sharp sand, bricks blocks etc all that roughly cost about £400 including the concrete that went in.
      but the most that will set u back will probably be the filter system as my pond is pretty big i went for the top of the range filter the nexus 320 which i highly recommend! i also have a UV and a skimmer that keeps the water clear that cost me £2000 with the filter all the piping, UV, electrics etc.
      all the labour work was done by family so we were saving a lot with that
      hope this helps and happy ponding!

      Mr Bunts looks fucking amazing so jealous yet so pleased for you that has got my mind racing now on building one for the amount, say 3,500 if u pay for labour and same pump system and hire seems good value to be, I'd be putting native fish in mine roach Rudd tench carp one pike and a few perch just for the kids lmao 😂

    Definitely need some shelter for the fish. Yes they go there when they are dying or sick but they're going to be stressed and get sick without shelter. Just keep an eye on all the fish you have. If you don't see one for awhile go look for it.

    Thinking about making a Koi Pond myself, can I get a ball park number on what it cost you all n all at the end? the one I'm thinking about building would be pretty close to your size.

    • @kingdude400
      @kingdude400  7 років тому +1

      BraveStaRR very difficult to say as a member of are family has a digger and all labour work was family so no cost there! I would say with all materials, filter, pipe work and all the other bit in between it came to about £8500 the thing that will set you back the most will be the filter system but you need a big one if your going to have a pond around the same size as this one. Obviously don't know how much it would cost for a digger hire and labour work too. Hope this help a bit!!

    How are your fish doing? What did you treat all the cement with to make it fish safe?

    • @jetli740
      @jetli740 9 років тому +3

      in the video, the inner pond is treat with G4 sealer

    • @kingdude400
      @kingdude400  9 років тому +3

      fish are great they love how deep the pond is especially at this time of the year in the UK
      g4 sealer keeps the fish safe and gives it a nice goldish finish

    • @kingdude400
      @kingdude400  9 років тому

      +WacoTobaco thanks for the message mate, a fast setting mix of building sand and cement, think he did a 4 to 1 mix. after it was rendered we then put g4 sealer over it to protect the fish
