I love the 88 series tractors - they have always been 1 of the best looking tractors. The only thing I would have liked to see in them was a foot throttle especially for road travel/changing gears.
Merry Christmas 🎄 I almost bought one of those 4166 18 years ago up in kansas. I ended up buying a late model one owner 4366 out of Nebraska instead. I preferred the physical size of the 41 the best. I originally wanted a 2x2 but couldn’t find any good ones back then at the time. Also, that’s a pretty nice 5488 you got there. 👍🏼
So I take it that you have two different types of tractors. The ones that you keep for your farming and the one's you just buy and trade. So the one that you keep are they still for sale or do you keep them no matter what. You have some nice IH tractors and I saw a JD in the back ground it would be kind of nice to see a tour off your personal equipment sometime. Happy holidays
There are more like 5!groups of tractors around here. Salvage, those that are strictly for resale, the mid 80s to early 2000s we farm with, muscle tractors we use in the field for fun, and then collectors that just hide in sheds.
I have a IH 454 an has the same trouble with the steering and I have replaced everything on it or had it rebuilt I even had the IH mechanic out and he replaced all the valves with his and did not make a difference and the pump is putting out 1600 PSI .that is when I replaced the steering pump .It is still tough to steer and I do have to bleed the brakes .I hate IH steering
Nice 4166. Is there quite a bit of compaction there? How attached to the 5488, I'm looking for one for the manure spreader. Mine is a twd, it has the power just not enough traction.
Red Power 💪
Men and their tractors... it's mystical. My uncle Lyle from Iowa was just in love with old tractors.
First FWA 5488 I’ve ever seen! Good looking tractor!

I could see how that would be handy.
That’s the first 88 series I’ve seen with front wheel assist. Neighbors all had them growing up mostly used for tillage work.
love those old girls, they look awesome!
Merry Christmas 🤶

Dad ran a 4366 for a few years then upgraded to an 895 versatile. Still have that one.
