Great video mate, thank you. I first worked on the fair when I was 12, in now 58. Boy has things gone down hill. The fair was always busy from around an hour after opening up until the coaches and busses left around 6 pm, then the guys from trecco bay and sandy bay would come over and keep us busy till way gone 10pm if it was allowed. I had a few years of great fun, entertainment, enjoyment down there but today it’s a shambles. I took a stroll around coney beach in the summer and could not believe how quiet it was!!! I’m talking a bank holiday Monday, it was dead. The fair is nothing now so I can see why people don’t go there for that anymore, but the whole area (sandy bay/trecco bay) is nothing now compared to the high times I remember. But my biggest surprise was what the did with the harbour. That’s the first thing that’s actually made a difference for the better. I can still visualise the old fishing vessels moored up around it, but it’s now modern and does actually look fantastic. What’s all this tarmac about on the sea front? Eyesore or what? The council could have moved in some big rocks and saved a fortune and it would have looked a damn side better than it does now. I guess with the nanny state they smashed the rock pools away also, boy we spent a fair few hours there as a kid. Apart from the harbour Porthcawl is now a shambles. I’m sorry for the people living there these days.

My great grandfather Joseph Lloyd was on the town council and did all he could to fight against the corruption. He also built (and paid for out of his own pocket), the Noddfa Chapel in Philadelphia Road. He lived with my grandparents and mother in Reynallt Place, just around the corner until he died in 1969. He lost my great grandmother in 1930 and needed a project. Porthcawl has changed drastically in my lifetime and none of it has been for the better, in my opinion. I barely recognise it these days, it's soul destroying. I can't imagine how disheartening it has been for the local people. I do hope you weed out the rot, I really do.
This is way after it was destroyed for me. My childhood memories were of Sandy Bay when it was running as a caravan site. My Grandma had a caravan at the top of 'the circle'. In the days of no electricity or running water in the vans. Lugging big jacks of water from the big stone 'sinks' back to the van! Gas lighting. Using a bucket if you wanted to 'go' at night, as the toilet block was closed up. Climbing up the stone steps to put the rubbish into the huge bins. Doing 'tumbles' over the handrails going down into the arena. (The sand has drifted so much now you cannot even see where the steps and handrail bars are, but they are still under there somewhere!!)! Buying Summer specials of comics in the shop on site, along with practical joke novelties & sandcastle flags. The beach seemed miles away to walk, and going back recently, it is heart-breaking to see the buildings gone, sand drifts covering everything, and wondering how they ever fit so many vans on what seems now such a small area! Memories of the bingo & amusements between Trecco and Sandy. The UBM on the beach. The dinosaur park behind what is now Hi Tide. A proper fairground, where you could win furry 'gonks' and make Disney Mold-a-matic figures!
When BCBC closed Sandy Bay park they had no deeds, even worse was a little known fact that the 56 acres had been ‘bought’ by the ratepayers over 10 years, paid off in 1960 but no registered deeds, bought for recreation and leisure on a CPO sanctioned by the Board of Health. Sadly all that was a fraud to acquire the land for building on at a later date, they’re almost there 74 years later. The camp site was a block on ‘progress’ that’s why they closed it, people should know they were s… on and watch & share the 10+ videos I’ve put together 🤝

Born and bred in Porthcawl on woodland avenue remember travelling on the train, should put back through sand dunes heading for Ogmore by sea, heading for Newbridge fields and stick train station there.
In an earlier comment I stated the syndicate went bankrupt but since then a document has turned up which is dated 1930 which states the dunes were crown lands and put in the care of The Board of Trade & conveyed to PUDC to manage with covenants that it should not be built on without express permission from The Board of Trade. I believe corruption stems from conflict ( WW1) and continued after (WW2) ie the CPO of Sandy Bay. The whole truth may never be uncovered but we’ve found so many pieces of the jigsaw it’s now unmistakably recognisable, watch this one to see how corruption is entrenched in governments, local & national. An encounter with an old gent who intimated all Sandy Bay had been bequeathed to the people by two old ladies prompted us to seek out the history of ownership, it turned out new first deeds had been acquired in 2017, a copy of those deeds revealed that no previous deeds or copies were produced as evidence of entitlement. Subsequent searches and donated information shows a conveyance in 1960 of Sandy Bay to PUDC who had initially/ allegedly borrowed money from Newton Estates via a fictitious mortgage company called the Royal Society of Musicians, this allowed land /property to be bought off Newton Estates without the need for deeds as surety. Many properties along Beach Road were financed from the same source. I have all the evidence but little support from the public who in some cases are waiting to see my name in the obituaries, at least someone is standing up for the people which is more than can be said about certain politicians. 😔 There are two covenants on the land where by virtue of new Westminster rules can easily be extinguished, it’s up to mass public protest and condemnation of BCBC to halt this crime, the whole of South Wales needs to get behind me otherwise a president will be set for others to follow, my other videos contain more revelations.
It now transpires there was an appropriation in 79 of an area of Sandy Bay for council housing ( that few were aware of) raising the question ‘ what happened?’ A there were no legal deeds ( still aren’t) B the camp site was in full swing. C council housing could have been a ruse simply to get a conveyance document then later build a mansion 🤷🏼🤔 … conveyance documents had served Newton Estates well up to that time.
The top north east corner of the Sandy Bay camp site was apparently the last road system installed, unusually for a well drained raised area the system is blessed with full specification road drainage works, just another clue to back up the documentation in my possession that housing was always the reason for the 1946 CPO. Just imagine where we’d be now if the whole 256 acres had passed into the hands of PUDC in 1950 🤦🏻 I’m still on my own digging for slip ups by BCBC, parasites are a bugger to eradicate 🥴
1st February 22 looking at old Facebook comments regarding sir Lesley Joseph it appears miss information regarding him owning Sandy Bay is entrenched in public memories, sadly he was part of the plot to eventually shut down the camp site for development. He leased or simply managed it for Newton Estates, the lack of deeds or any credible documents reinforces my beliefs. Conveyance documents exist but only for the 1935 & 48 transactions ( receipts) . The public & officials have been deceived for almost 100 years , the lies evolving into truths, difficult to rationalise at this late stage but the whole truth will emerge that organised crime is at play.
BCBC are cherry picking new legislations & ‘guidance’ A. Discourage private car usage, The answer - remove parking provision. B. Build on brownfield/ derelict land. Answer - deny it’s use to the owners for 20 years & recategorise it as abandoned. C. Use the excuse they’re assisting the housing shortage yet in their own words plan second homes & holiday accommodation. D. The now total monopoly of the caravan holiday business by one company with astronomical annual rents eg £7,000 / year is pushing the 2nd home business into the limelight, another arm of organised crime almost encouraged by Westminster. I pray people wake up and realise what sort of creatures are governing their lives, sadly many who know what’s going on are too scared to speak out or get involved, I come from grandparents who risked death to feed the striking miners in the 30s in Northumberland a character trait genetically inherited.
Just a reminder a business contract was formed around the first registration of Sandy Bay between BCBC and prominent local businesses with a 60/40 split of all proceeds of sale of our land, valued then at roughly £30 million. Ransom strips were agreed to maximise future bargaining (extortion) processes. The CPOs that we hope many objected to would have if successful given partners the power to exclude the public even turning Coney Beach / Sandy Bay into a private beach for the expected millionaires purchasing the £500,000 2nd homes (without a sea view) I hope you stand with me on this fight 🙏🏻 much of the evidence is contained in my other videos eg THE SCAM- - & PORTHCAWL AND THE TAFFIA- - serious collusion in WHEN CRIMINALITY IS ACCEPTABLE.
From all the evidence I’ve collected over the last 3-4 years it’s a certainty TG Jones gained a controlling lease from Westminster aided by business led MPs in 1924, they formed a syndicate to develop 250 acres of sand dunes for housing, the scheme failed and bankruptcy followed, defeated by the volume of sand . In 1935 Newton Estates (the syndicate) paid TGJ £ millions ( allegedly) yet he maintained a51% share, A scheme to legitimise developing all of Newton burrows was devised but needed PUDCs involvement to acquire a sanction from the board of health to CPO 250 acres of land, TGJ / Newton Estates wanted £70,000 but it was valued at £42,000. I can’t find any records to explain why only 56 acres were ‘bought’ though all land purchases were made from loans from The Royal Society of Musicians, I suspect was a loan from Newton Estates as all properties had to go through that ‘company’ ? to hide the fact no deeds of ownership existed, not until 2017 for BCBC and 2019 for the remaining 200 acres.
The excitement likely felt by many at the prospect of a football stadium incorporating a swimming pool and other attractions must have disappointed many in Porthcawl and beyond but no explanation can be found as to why it failed to materialise. My opinion is that it couldn’t be allowed to happen as it would have prevented the long term goal of property development as confirmed in my video PORTHCAWL AND THE TAFFIA, as no legal deeds existed the project would have disclosed the scam.
It may not have been bankruptcy 🤔 a document has turned up and signed in 1930 stating Newton burrows was crown land and owned by the King, featured in my other new video called WAKE UP !

I'm so very disappointed to see / hear of the the plan's for the rest of Porthcawl - the council and developers are set to destroy the place. Fairground being replaced with "apartment's", some of which will go on salt lake at three storey level. Some sort of youth centre etc on the harbour end of the lake car park too it seems. From the fair to the harbour is to be fully pedestrianised. Multistorey car park going on the current car park over by the town centre with a bus station, taxi rank and cycling hub on Hillsborough place. It remains to be seen as to whether that road / around the sea front will be pedestrianised / access only but I imagine so.
Many prominent people are likely to have been taken in by BCBC with the lure of easy money 🤔 I’ve had a few comments previously that a few might have dismissed, but gut instincts tell me “AHH A CLUE” eg “ if you WANT IT BACK take it to court 🤷🏼 “Barry stop with your conspiracy theories, it will happen “ Our MP 🤦🏻 less said the better 🥴 So there will be conflicts of interest COIs and just hope any criticism can be backed up with documentary evidence of which I have & too much for my own good I suspect.
