- A short walk along Porthcawl seafront during the weekend of Storm Bert. Luckily, this time we missed the full force of the storm.
The sound quality may not be the best on this video due to the wet and windy weather.

I love the beach when it’s stormy
I wrap up and sit for hours just enjoying the rhythm of it ❤
It does look dramatic in a storm.
As an English couple living in Cimla every one of your videos are interesting to us, yes we know some of the walks but the history and local knowledge you provide is always interesting. Thanks.
Hello from the States. Good to see you back safely in Wales and walking the trails, despite the weather. I bet you had your water proof boots on for this walk. Don’t worry, sunny days ahead. Stay safe and be well.
Yes, waterproof boots 👍
Lovely walk and commentary.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great to have you back walking again Marcus enjoyed it
"A short walk?" I think you did extremely well even to venture outdoors on a day like that! I grew up in Nantymoel and my parents often drove me to Porthcawl. I've lived in Oxford for years but have the RNLI live camera feed showing the harbour breakwater and lighthouse, on my PC desktop, so can appreciate the battering you've been receiving recently. 'Hope all's well before the next weather system rolls in. P.S. 'Though we preferred Rest Bay, I do have childhood memories (from around fifty years ago) of Coney Beach in its prime, with the 'Water Chute', old-fashioned full-size 'Helter Skelter', dodgems, wooden 'Figure Eight' roller coaster, etc, and even an open air auditorium at the back, replaced for a time by a dolphinarium. Also a waxworks with a tableau, in the window, of a supine man raising and lowering his head as a curved blade swung above him; the poor chap had been 'tortured' for so long his clothes were moth-eaten and the back of his waxen head quite flat! I'm currently sad to read, too, that BCBC received no tenders for the proposed refurb of the Grand Pavilion and are now scaling back their plans, hoping to proceed (at some point!) with a less ambitious scheme. Plus ça change! Many thanks, as always, and I look forward to your Margam walk.
Glad you enjoyed, hopefully my next walk will be on a sunnier and much drier day.
was going to ask if you have walked to Sker point, but i see you have so now i've got to go and watch it.
I'm surprised you couldn't persuade Mel to go with you on such a lovely day 🤣
She doesn't come unless there's some lunch at the end! And then only in sunny weather 🤣
Goodness Me Marcus - what weather we had here! - Hope you didn't get blown away!
Typical Porthcawl weather 🤪

Hi, I think I'll try a sunny day next time 🤣

Hopefully more coming up.
Went to Amroth on Friday as I knew this was on its way over the weekend, Blue skyes and a cracking day out, looking forward to Margam (Home Town) to Glamorgan Ridgeway walk, lets hope the weather holds out for you Marcus.
I walked it last week when it was raining, just need to do it again to film it when it's dry.
@@marcuswalks Glad you think its going to stop raining in Margam soon lol, been like chinese water torture as you well know last few months lol. keep up the walks Marcus, I did lose all my subs, including yours but have got them all back again, hope Mel is ok.
