- McVicar is Roger Daltrey's fourth solo album, and also the soundtrack album of McVicar, the film of the same name. It also has all of the members on the Who playing on the album, with Kenney Jones on drums.
The album was released in June, 1980.
The album reached #22 in the US charts and #39 in the UK charts.
i wore this album out so many years ago
Great comment lad.... I was all over the system from Frankland to Parkhurst and I was met by mufti squad in every establishment.... this would go on when I got the chance great album
Yeah, it was a wildly, well- acted movie too.
Me too
Love it ❤
Bought this album wen i was 12 years old am now 50 an its still my fav album i always said if my house was on fire i would save this thing
great song love this dark track from roger daltrey love the movie a lot too. mcvicar is an underrated movie.
"The psychopath never takes a bath 'cos he'll wash away his hate..." ✌️😎
Had this on tape when I was 17 and would play it all the way through. I loved this album! Then It's Hard came out and I would play that one a lot too! Time to go back and party some more to it, thanks!
The unknown Who album. The best Who album beyond the death of Keith Moon.
Not a Who album, a soundtrack. Roger was the only Who guy on it. But very underrated all the same.
@@MiltonJenkins That's simply not true. All members of the band played on the album multiple times.
@@MiltonJenkins Entwistle, Pete and Kenney Jones all played on the album. Do your research LOL
I love how this song opens!
Based on this song whenever someone says 'I'm bitter' I always retort 'Are you twisted'
!
brilliant.. also got the see through clear vinyl album,... very rare !!!
I thought I was the only one to see this movie - seriously. Love this song, and "Free Me."
Jan 2024 and still love this tune
They need to re-introduce this to today's youth.
Gurdev Singh definitely
It was the only Daltrey cut, it was a soundtrack for a movie.
Mcvicar, quadrophenia, and Tommy, listen to the albums, then watch the films, the who forever, peace
You can try to frighten me
You can think whatever you like
You can try to threaten me
'Cause I'm coiled and ready to strike
All your life you've towed the line
Never ??? and never resisted
Now you're running out of time
All you ever feel is bitter and twisted...
+TheHemiDodge426 'Never dreamed and never resisted'. I should know - I wrote it! You can find my version on my Fresh Blood album (iTunes, Amazon etc). Steve Swindells.
Steve Swindells Wow man! Great dark and heavy tune man! I just played your version and I like it too! Geez! You're brilliant!
Great song! I still have this album. Also love Free Me, Just A Dream Away.
Thank you kind sir!
We have all been bitter and twisted-the twisted strands of life!
Love that 🍀🇮🇪👍🏻
What a fantastic track

Bitter and twisted ! Great !
The psychopath never takes a bath because he'll wash away his hate! What a lyric
My favorite song on this album (that's like a large cd made of vinyl, google it) Great song for putting me in the right mood each day.
Thanks for the upload, wore my only cd of it out many years ago.
Verse 1: Me at work, thinking of the job I'll be able to get after I finish school.
Just got in the bath after days thinking what music faught I would put mcviacar sound track on and this song made me laugh madness
Holy Shit..frkn 1980!!
Tune.
I'm too bitter to have taste, and too twisted to be straighten out.
still great stuff.
well done WILLO , been looking for this , thanks
i have the album...sometimes I quote the awesome lyrics to social boors.
ur not the only one!
I have this LP on clear white vinyl. Turntable, doesn't work, however, so I'm thrilled to be able to give this another listen. LOVE IT! Always have.
my dad has it on standard vinyl version too, I have the mcvicar cd!
Been looking on spotify for this album cant find it grrr
THE WHO eternal
Finally, I understand what is wrong with me.... Bitter & T WISTED!!
And there's nothing wrong with that. It just means you're human.
The Who is and will always be
The best
I still like WASPs version of "The real me". And I still think the movie "Tommy" is a work of genius.
love McVicar gave listened to it sins
Team Twisted!!
The "overlooked" album.... Didn't really care for the flick, but the soundtrack grabbed me by the balls.
Reminds me of some people that I have to work with
@josker12 No problem mate.
Nature's call
We're all doomed! DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!
Love this song! AND... Actually This entire album from 'Rog' 💯. Ironic & Funny thing is; THIS,the soundtrack from "McVicar"(DALTREY Solo album) & "Empty Glass"(Pete's solo effort) were done/released within a year or so of "Face Dances"/"It's Hard" WHO albums...BUT? McVicar Soundtrack record & Empty Glass are Even Better ALBUMS than what THE WHO as A Band were putting-out @ that juncture of 'WHO-Life'!! 💯 👍
how do you top this
Why has No one uploaded 'there is love' for the Daltrey album?
Damn, that Steve Swindells is a talented songwriter ... Roger does a good old stab at this song, but the version of the FRESH BLOOD album is better.
Thanks Neil! Plenty of newer stuff to stream/download here (I'm #7 today) www.reverbnation.com/steveswindells
hello clarice
Meat lofe
Who wrote the songs,,
Decent cover of the Steve Swindells classic.
Why thank you! I also played keys on this version (that synth riff eh?).
Alternate campaign theme for Hillary. See also Comfortably Numb--Pink Floyd.
