So your previous video warmed my heart and after this one it's melted! I am so in awe of you and what you've achieved so far. I'm a 6' bloke and I tapped out on my first wild camp. Really well done!
watching the sun go down and all the clips of nature withe music playing in the background was beautiful, i would have liked to see the tent up and see you cook something...glad you enjoyed the stars and the sound of the owls...look forward to more..Catherine well done thank you enjoyed this one..x
Thanks Anthony. I think if I’d known how cold it was going to get (-4C) I might have had second thoughts! But my kit held up well and kept me warm and, as you say, nothing beats being out for the sunrise.
Wonderful Well done Catherine - looked a good if extremely cold one 😀 Woodland at night is a great place. You would think it would be quiet but it isn’t at all. Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
I must have missed this video, how brave and interesting to spend a night in a bivvy in the UK woods. It would have been interesting to know the gear that you thought was suitable for this situation and that it worked for you.
It was quite a challenge. Got down to below freezing and in the end I wrapped my tarp groundsheet right around me for that extra layer of protection and trapped air. After that I was cosy. As always the wonderful wake up in the early dawn makes it all worth while.
@@catherinewalks1207 This last winter I tried out for the first time a "Mountain Warehouse" Bivvy Bag with a Mont 3-season bag on part of the Te Araroa Trail in Canterbury NZ. With a small emergency tarp I was quite comfortable even though waking to a thick frost on the ground. (Rakia River to Lake Heron section")

I love the pack size, you have all you need in such a compact backpack. ❤️
A lovely piece of editing and what courage roughing it in the cold, very courageous. Thank you for sharing. Harry

Nice one Catherine. Be safe and be lucky.
Respect to you. You did amazing not everyone can stand to sleep on the ground in freezing temperatures with even the best gear. Have fun stay safe.
It will certainly make camping in a tent seem luxurious!
Great to get your first overnighter done without any hiccups , I love to hear nature as the day ends and the owls etc come out to play . Atb Dave
Owls always sound friendly to me. Love hearing them. Thanks for the comment.

Yur winters are quite different from ours. Have you ever worn Snowshoes? :)
Never!
