Why is it a surprise that the English kids benefitted from the app just like the Malawi kids? Both classes have children of the same age without previous formal math training. Are you saying the British kids are slower or another other way round?
I believe this just proves that nomatter where in the world children cone from they all learn in the same way from the available resources. It shows you that the difference between the two is nothing but just a colour and if you don't focus on the color or nationality, you will realise that they are all children and what separates them is their cultural and social background, just to name a few.
