I remember going to book stores before Deathly Hallows came out and there were actually ads talking about which side Snape was on and pointed out both the good and bad he had done. I really loved the chapter on Snape's backstory, it's my fav HP chapter and I think one of the best chapters in a book ever. I may not have that much respect for Rowling nowadays, but I do think that Snape is one of the best written literary chars. I do think Sirius's death should have gotten an honorable mention. His death was a shocker for me when I first read Order of the Phoenix. I actually had to reread that part again because I was in complete denial.
I think the book handled moody is actually Barty Crouch Jr plot better bc in the book, he was supposed to be dead, so really no one saw it coming, while in the movies (of what I could remember) he was just thrown in Azkaban
#3 was shocking to me when I read it, but peter being the traitor just blew my head off. Maybe because we find out that James, Sirius, Remus and Peter were animagi, created the map, Sirius was innocent, lupin was a werewolf, and Peter was the traitor, all at the same time! @Poster 16 If I was Cornelius Fudge, instead of hiring Umbridge, I would've thrown her into Azkaban and I would've believed Dumbledore that Voldemort has returned. I would've also allowed Dumbledore to train his own army by the time they were ready to fight him and his death eaters. If Fudge agreed to let Dumbledore train his army and did not hire Umbridge and hired someone else who at least didn't make students write with their own blood, most likely many students would've received more battling experience and Fred could’ve survived the Second Wizarding War.

I read the books before the movies came out. The Sirius Black twist was probably the best of the series. Once we learned what a Horcrux was in Half Blood Prince, it was very clear that Harry's scar was a horcrux. Same book: when fans read the book, there was a big fan-rage debate about whether Snape was good or evil. Some brilliant marketer even created appearance changing buttons for fans to wear.

I know Snape wasn't the nicest person, but I can fully understand why. Firstly he was brought up by his parents who weren't very nice, and then he got bullied like crazy by James and Sirius at Hogwarts, being humiliated and nearly killed, causing him to call Lily a Mudblood as he was so angry. If it wasn't for all this, then he'd have probably become a better person.
Alastair Moody being actually Crouch Jr is a great plot twist and even better in the book, because there’s background story. Sirius tells Harry, Ron and Hermione about the rise and fall of Barry Crouch Sr in the Ministry of Magic and how he gave his only son to the dementors. So, when he comes back to the history later on, your jaw drops.

If you have read the books you'll think something a bit different. Don't forget that she was the one to make the prophecy between Harry and Voldemort, as well as tree prophecy that Voldemorts companion would return to Voldemort to aid in his rise. Not to mention that, in the books, she predicted during a Christmas dinner that the 13th person to leave the table would die. Soon after. The 13th person leaving the table would be Harry, albeit it being a few years later, he did (kinda) die in some way (the 7th book, 8th movie) when Voldemort kills his own horcrux that was with Harry.

I always loved some of Ron's facial expressions hehe. I don't know if I would consider these 'funny' per say, but I always laughed when someone got their 'just desserts' like when Malfoy got turned into a Ferret by Moody lol or when Umbridge got taken away by those centaurs.
The biggest for me was that trelawney was legit, see she wouldn’t sit down in the Christmas feast because she said then there would be thirteen, and the first to rise would die first, but she didn’t know that scabbers, who was with Ron was there so there were already thirteen people, the first to rise was Dumbledore. Same in order of the Phoenix with Sirius
I look forward to the day that HP is made into a tv series so we can actually cover the important details from the books. The fact that Snape isn't given time in the 6th movie to talk about him being a half blood thus giving the viewer a chance to connect that to both Harry AND Voldemort being half bloods is pretty lame.

I know Snape wasn't the nicest person, but I can fully understand why. Firstly he was brought up by his parents who weren't very nice, and then he got bullied like crazy by James and Sirius at Hogwarts, being humiliated and nearly killed, causing him to call Lily a Mudblood as he was so angry. If it wasn't for all this, then he'd have probably become a better person.
Alastair Moody being actually Crouch Jr is a great plot twist and even better in the book, because there’s background story.
Sirius tells Harry, Ron and Hermione about the rise and fall of Barry Crouch Sr in the Ministry of Magic and how he gave his only son to the dementors. So, when he comes back to the history later on, your jaw drops.

If you have read the books you'll think something a bit different. Don't forget that she was the one to make the prophecy between Harry and Voldemort, as well as tree prophecy that Voldemorts companion would return to Voldemort to aid in his rise.
Not to mention that, in the books, she predicted during a Christmas dinner that the 13th person to leave the table would die. Soon after. The 13th person leaving the table would be Harry, albeit it being a few years later, he did (kinda) die in some way (the 7th book, 8th movie) when Voldemort kills his own horcrux that was with Harry.
Even when I was a kid, the first Harry Potter didn’t have the word Philsopher. The movie title is Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone. Is this a mistake from the book title?

i had to edit it cause i wanted to see THE PLOT TWISTS OF HARRY POTTER (which isn't really plot twists) everybody read the book about the marauders and sirius had always been a brother to james and in the halfblood prince snape said harry was horcrux and in the beginning of the series harry was the boy who lived and as we all know u have to kill a person to make a horcrux which voldemort killed harrys parents therefore making him a horcrux

So many of these when I read them were insane! Depending on how the films were done plenty of the twists were executed well (the Half Blood Prince reveal was far better in the book easily). #1 blew my mind in the book, I had to read the two chapters twice

The Barty Crouch Jr. reveal was even worse in the movies than Voldemort’s end or Snape being the half blood prince. But it was great in the book.

I always loved some of Ron's facial expressions hehe. I don't know if I would consider these 'funny' per say, but I always laughed when someone got their 'just desserts' like when Malfoy got turned into a Ferret by Moody lol or when Umbridge got taken away by those centaurs.

The fact that Snape isn't given time in the 6th movie to talk about him being a half blood thus giving the viewer a chance to connect that to both Harry AND Voldemort being half bloods is pretty lame.
Kind of interesting when you think about the Founder of Slytherin was only for 'pure blooded' when his heir was a half-blood lol.
