That opening... you can't fool me, I saw that on Saturday Night Live. Ha ha. That's a fantastic building Doug did. You guys are awesome to watch, you teach us so many techniques and give us ideas. Thanks!
lol, yes, all the time. I have to remind myself that it’s about the journey and not the destination and I have also look at how much I’ve accomplished in just four years.
Another enjoyable video - thanks for that. I've heard you in a past video mention that your layout's track plan was two dog bones with no switches and then you mentioned it again in this video. I'd like to, (gently), suggest that you reconsider this and I'll tell you why. Railroad cars are GREAT scenery opportunities that add a changeable dynamic to a layout that will be pretty static otherwise and not changeable. Boxcars, tankers, gondolas are all basically mini structures for a modeler of your caliber that can be moved about the layout adding different combinations that make the look of the layout ever changing, and thereby more interesting. Plus, railroad car storage can be increased by having a certain number of railroad cars on the layout either on a siding or in operation.
That is an awesome building. Just my opinion….. I would place an original Doug Foscale building at the front of the layout. Not at the back. I think a great spot for it would be at the water to the left of your wooden lift out bridge. Right up front. Your railroad is looking really good my friend….
What a great gift from a friend. Looks great where you put it. The layout is coming along nicely. Great top about photocopying the front to make the sides.
Jason, Doug is a master craftsman, and so good that he has shared with you, on of his built kits. It looks great, and fits in so well where you have placed it. You will have to video when you put the roof back on, and and adding the water tower back in, I would be super interested. Great update, and view of the layout, and seeing a train doing a loop, thank you for sharing that. What would be great as a future set of videos is anotehr collaboration between you and doug on building a kit from the beginning, and send it back and forth for more work, I know you have done that before, but that is amazing collab work, Cheers, and stay safe, Michael
@michaelimpey1407 I'd like to suggest that Jason knows about Dougs' status, however more importantly, Jason himself has proven beyond all doubt that he is the epitome of model building prowes. Perhaps you were going to say that but moved on too quickly to a great suggestion for a follow-up video. Either way, and accolades aside, it's a magical experience seeing Jason displaying his artistry. Cheers Lance
Lucky Dog, Lucky Dog! That was fun just watching you being a little kid in all that excitement Jason. That is a really cool building, the color fits nicely with the other darker ones near it. That was awesome of Doug to send you that. Every time I see the SP Black Widow running I can’t help but think that maybe it should be a Boston and Maine? I never get tired of looking at your layout. Take care man!
Those original kits are like museum pieces to me. A precious work of rare art. Salt neck Harbor was kit number 170. Some time after 2012 it was released. I don’t have all the info hand right now.
Love you and Tug. And I love the buildeng he sent you! But I have to say I was nor that into where you picked to place it. But maybe you will change you're mind. We train guys are always changing things. To me it should be a fourground building
Gwyneth Paltrow's Head......Brad Pitt in the movie Seven.... what's in the box
I replicated that model in "O" scale ...

Do you ever look at your beautiful layout and panic with how much you have left to do?
lol, yes, all the time. I have to remind myself that it’s about the journey and not the destination and I have also look at how much I’ve accomplished in just four years.

Thank you so much!!! My N scale layout has lots of switches for that exact reason you mentioned.

You would have a future in set design/ construction for period cinema production… Illusion becomes “reality.”
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!!!
Most awesome!!! Looks like you found the perfect spot for it!
Thank you so much Ed!!!
