Thanks for the advice on the bags.
Good info! I'm hoping to top dress my yard this year
Awesome. Great video!
Very nice machine, before I saw this I've had an idea floating around in my head of how to build one that my Walker mowers can push while I ride. Also thinking of some way to rapid fill the hopper from a special trailer that hauls the top dressing material.
Thanks to Pete's video I used this to cover my seed on an acre renovation. Cooke Rentals in Denver, NC is the only place I could find it. Well worth the hour drive for me. Have to use light material like compost or it will clog. Most topsoil is too heavy.
I did a few lawn renovations and have some booked for next spring. I'm definitely interested in this. I tried a peat moss roller. It does okay for peat moss but not for topdressing. The top dressing just clogs up and the hatch blows open. Thanks for sharing this. It looks to save a lot of labor and gives a consistent spread.
italian fighter it works incredibly well!
Glad I read your comment about the peat moss roller. I've seen this used on youtube and was almost ready to buy one. This Ecolawn is too expensive for home use. I'll look around to rent one instead.
I have the pull type applicator eco 50. My ferris z2 pulls it like a champ. Must get DRIED SIFTED material or it won't flow and spread evenly. 20% moisture or less. The bagged stuff from Lowes is great but expensive, find bulk compost high quality is mandatory. We spread 9 cu yards in 2 hours.
Thanks for your 2 cents worth.
Just picked mine up. Ran it on a big yard today and the chain link snapped as I was putting it back in the truck! I hope this is the only glitch you get for 6k, and the missing external retaining clip for the clutch engagement lever. Overall, great machine!
agreed
Obviously not practical for the average homeowner, but I would love a topdressing service 2x a year with this piece of equipment.
What type of compost are you using for over seeding?
We would like to use a proper sand after aeration this fall. Last yr we used compro but it's acidic. What's the proper USPG type topdressing sand for 1 AC?
Would this work ok for leveling a lawn?
How well did the one that goes on the walker work?
Paul's Prime Cuts same as what I have. Works well
Where can u rent this?
How to buy
Big Iron back at it again! fml lol
Now that you’ve had several years to use this thing, would you use this in virgin turf never been top dressed?
Rutted from mowing over the years nothing crazy.
I sold that and bought a stronger machine - ua-cam.com/video/KWTRTNP-evk/v-deo.htmlsi=-mw2PmJLgXGgI-Hp
@@GCITurf oh yea I forgot about that one, I watch so many videos of yours I lose track of all the cool stuff you have! Thanks Pete!
I can’t find a place near me that rents these spreaders
Can you buy the machine in India
www.ecolawn.com will know for sure
... you should do an update on this piece of equipment if your still using it for all of us .... equipment junkies ;)
We still use it from time to time. Works great with zero issues
Anyone ever see these things at a rental shop?
Nope... called them all in a 75 mile radios of the home...
For 6k it's a shame you still have to walk it
americantroy77 the same company makes one that runs off a walker pto. It mounts on the front in place of the deck. I sold all 3 walkers so I had to get the walk behind version.
Papa & Nana's Lawn Care they break a lot. At least the 3 I had did. They mow way too short for me. I prefer to discharge clippings. Throw all that together and the walker just doesn’t fit my company.
