  • In this video we see how a massive factory was designed and built for a prominent spot in my Garden Railroad. Once the factory is placed we witness the first ceremonial train backing in. We are now open for business!

      Thanks. It was a fun thing to paint and it sure adds some bright colours to the RR.

    Love IT! Great use for old soup cans. Ingenious idea once again. You can do a how to video showing step by step. It would be entertaining and hopefully it would get thousands of views!

    Oh no not the gas tank. 😎 I've seen more times than I want to.
    Nice paint job on it. What does the factory produce? Cranberry juice? Smurf tanning lotion?

      We had a problem with the expansion tank on our boiler, the plumber replaced it and the light bulb went off. LOL This facility produces everything so it gives the RR an excuse to spot and pull all manner of rolling stock and now we can add Smurf tanning lotion to the product list.

    Great work ! What do you use for the roll up garage doors?

      Thanks. I used heavy aluminum foil that I had ran through a paper crimper and then glued it to a piece of sheet metal then added the frame. The top is a dowel that I cut in half.

    Hello, beautiful trains !! I would like start G Scale train hobby. Do you build for business ?

    • @CapeCodTrainTodd
      @CapeCodTrainTodd  3 роки тому

      Thank you. I don't build as a business but I really enjoy the G scale hobby. I would suggest starting small and expanding from there building as much as you can yourself. I started in 2006 with a LGB set for the Christmas tree and in the Spring of 2007 I went outdoors and the rest is history. Happy RRing!

      @@CapeCodTrainTodd which brands are reliable.? Are they compatible ? Can they programmed to go certain destinations and come back ? I have seen some restaurants use G scale trains deliver foods to customers. Thank you !

      @@arkvancampervan9617 All G is compatible but they are different scales from 1:32 to 1:20 They do run on the same track. LGB seems to the be the most reliable for long term but I also like USA Trains. The Bachmann Spectrum series has incredible details but the gears on their cheaper trains can break down. You can mix track, brass code 332 from LGB, USAT Aristocraft and Piko. There are systems to make the train automatic. My trains are track powered but many guys today are going with battery powered. With battery you don't have to worry about dirty track that blocks the electricity. If you are just getting into the hobby I would suggest checking out the how to book "Garden Railway Basics" by Kevin Strong. You should also check out the "G scale Trains" club on face book.

      @@arkvancampervan9617 Collecting is part of the fun but I run everything. I don't believe in keeping it pristine in the box. I do buy small collections, keep what I want and sell the rest. Thanks.

    What are the fancy roofs made from?

    • @CapeCodTrainTodd
      @CapeCodTrainTodd  7 місяців тому

      The tower roofs? I replaced 3 old tired lanterns on my house and thought the caps would make for an interesting feature on a future build for the RR and several years later they did. I have learned to always keep my eyes open for interesting junk.😁
