7th's era had so many explosions and close calls - both McCoy and Sophie were put into life-threatening situations during filming - that explosion for one (supposedly set fire to McCoy's back but he kept going), and Sophie being put into a water-tank that later started spilling near live wiring during Battlefield. That doesn't include the twisted ankles and other things they'd have gotten from all the running and prat-falling - and to think that this was/is one of the least liked eras of the Doctor...
I remember commenting during "Face the Raven" how lucky Lady Mayor was not to be dealing with THIS incarnation of The Doctor. Because Seven's promises would only be valid if the person he makes them to survives. If they die, then he's no longer bound to it, and a world of hurt would be coming next.
Yes. Because Seven was a classic "Good isn't nice." And unlike most incarnations, he and Ace actually went looking for trouble instead of passively stumbling into it. The plan was, initially, to send Ace off to Gallifrey to become a Time Lord in her own right (maybe the proper term is "Time Lady," but Ace isn't particularly ladylike). Of course, that would have made things much worse as far as the Time War, especially if she took a few Daleks with her in a Nitro-9 fueled blaze of glory.
Indeed - and probably why his popularity has been on a slow but steady upward spike (although a lot of that has to do with Sylvester himself being an awesome human being). 7th was and always will be my Doctor, yet despite the popularity of the NewWho, there still hasn't been a Doctor as dark and as devious as this slippery little genius with his little hat and the trademark ? umbrella. If you haven't already, you absolutely have to listen to his speech at the end of the Big Finish audio, "Afterlife" - free spinal chills. It's searchable here on UA-cam, though best not to spoil it if you do intend to listen to the audios.
Since his run was considered a low point, Seven's episodes were on late night PBS (along with Six and some of Five), with the more "popular" classic Doctors reserved for the beg-a-thons. So those were my gateway to the series. Still think Seven and Ace was the best Doctor-Companion relationship, as they were such opposites, but there was that arc that Seven was actually teaching her to think like a sneaky bastard, and the whole master and apprentice vibe was great to see.
+CricketeerMinecraft Seasons 12 thru 14 were awesome to and may have literally the best run of episodes ever. Love Tom but also like and respect Sylvester. I suggest for everyone to watch all the seasons and without bias towards any of the Doctors or actors. They were all talented.
Red Kangs are best! Paradise Towers was the episode where I decided that Mel was... heavily medicated as a character choice. There is no pool in the universe worth that! I still love it for its commitment, & for glorious Sylvester.
The original person to walk away from an explosion without looking!
He had to: no chance for a retake.

+Allronix I believe her name is 'Mayor Me' in that episode
Also if 7 had fought the Time War it would have been over in a few minutes - he would have caused massive collateral damage - but he would have won.
