Treat Williams did wrestling, track, and football in high school. He played football in college. He learned some martial arts from Simon Rhee. Treat was a man's man. RIP.
Poor Treat Williams. The world is a sadder place without him - he was a true gentleman. First saw him in 1941 and he was superb. Rest in peace Mr Williams, you’re surely missed ❤
I first saw him in Deep Rising. His Magnum Opus. Coolest movie of my childhood. After Aliens, Predator, Terminator, Jurassic Park, and Back to the Future.
I had no idea he lived kind of near me, 1 hour away actually. He was admitted to a local hospital here in my city where he passed away from that bike accident.
I sat at a round table, opposite of Mr. Williams at a Passover Seder in Denver. Mr. Williams was with his family. To my immediate right sat his son...a very nice and well mannered young man. While in polite conversation, his son asked me what I did for a living. I told him. He then proudly told me that his dad "made movies." After a brief but awkward pause, I sincerely apologized to the young man for not recognizing his father (at the time). I admitted to reading mostly, and never taking much interest in movies. The young man took it well, and seemed perhaps even a bit relieved that I wasn't there to bother anyone. In retrospect, I think the night may have gone better that way. Several years later, after learning of Mr. Williams passing, I've thought of that young man that I met on that early April evening of that year, ...often wanting to express my heartfelt condolences for his loss.
I bet those 2 stallions had a "wonderfully memorable" romp in the bedroom, if you get my drift. Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge. Yup, old Tom Berenger had himself a full sized, throbbing, pulsing "treat" that night, that's for damn sure. And that's the bottom line, because STONE COLD SAID SO!
Treat Williams was truly a man, among men. His life was one of honor and humility. His acting ability, was incredibly believable. I watch Everwood, what I believe to be his best performance, over and over again. May God rest his soul, and we as fans, were blessed, with his presence!
The title here is wrong. The instructor picked the *perfect* person for his demonstrations. The instructor was emphasizing the need to turn your opponents force against him, and that is exactly what the "stranger" demonstrates. So far from the wrong person, the "stranger" turns the whole thing into the perfect teaching moment, and the instructor knows this and loves it.
I was standing next to Mr. Williams at the dice table in the Rio, Las Vegas in the 90s, when he lost $50,000.00 on a single pass. He turned to me and said: "WOW!" The only thing I could think to say was: "Wow" sounds about right! He smiled and patted me on the back...
My story is not as cool as this one.. I was at a Flea Market here buying baseball cards and bought a Palmeiro rookie card...... and someone from behind me said- " good choice kid" I turned around and was Raphael Palmeiro himself!!!!!!! he signed my card on the spot and i have it framed along with the other 2 I got from him over the years.... what can I say man-- I got the autograph of a fucking hometown hero turned legend!
The acting here was actually decent imo, that made an awkward situation make sense (awkward because it's supposed to be military training scene and then some guy in civilian clothing just walks in out of nowhere). They made it feel natural... but what wasn't natural was that choreography lol.
Hilariously both Treat and the other actor, Tim, were more than capable of doing a true martial arts showcase, but I guess the director wanted it to look a certain way. 🙄🤣🤣🤣
Yeah they had to show it that way because they had to show the moves slower for a general audience and also keep in mind this wasn’t a high production series where they had the luxury of stuntmen, crash mats and the insurance for cases of injuries. (I worked in media and did martial arts. Trust me there’s a lot of red tape and formality to go through even to do a white belt scene like this one.).
Aww.. I love Treat Williams. I think everyone during the late 80's, the 90's and early 2000's prolly did. Out of all the action heroes of that time, he was that guy that everyone liked! A true gent... but a man's man! Everyone's older, cooler brother!

The man was a LEGEND, and nothing was reported on this whatsoever because I keep up with all the news from both sides. He was killed in a motorcycle accident when he ran into a Honda Civic making an illegal turn and died of massive trauma and blood loss at the hospital. For those of you that wondered why we are here.
