This was my all time favorite anime! The story & characters are wonderful and the romance between them is so beautiful and funny. Like two childhood friends bickering at one another. Truly a work of art. And not to mention the enthralling music!!!
Spice and Wolf seems to be of a rare breed, a story in which actual physical violence is rare if not completely absent, still a wonderful story... now if only the Anime actually told the story in it's entirety, and didn't stop at two seasons... I say that not having read the Light Novels...
The light novels definitely include more detail and more insight into Laurence's emotions and thoughts since they are from his perspective. The air of constant teasing and the chemistry between them is more apparent in the novels too. In my opinion the novels are better, considering at first i only started reading them to get a continuation from the anime. The atmosphere is captured so well in the novels i cannot stress any more how much i recommend reading them.
@@diabreon3094 I think it's funny how S&W tears apart the typical anime in that "She's so strong, WOW!" fight-y kind of characters is, in actuality, more-or-less useless in actual everyday life. Holo is infinitely more useful for her sharp intellect and cunning than being able to turn into a wolf the size of a bus.

Yay Lawrence and Holo! This was a beautiful rendition of the theme from the show and God damn it I'm starting to cry again.
Let's be honest. Naofumi is nothing compared to Lawrence as a traveling trader.
Good to know i was not the only one who saw the similarities between Shield Hero and Spice and Wolf, although naofumi doesn't really compare to Lawrance, Rapthtalia does have a huge Holo the Wise Wolf Vibe, especially from her looks.

Spice and wolf is my comfort anime, I feel so much at home when I watch it, I absolutely adore the opening, though was kinda gutted I could never understand it. This version of the opening I love. Your voice is as beautiful as the original woman singing it.

I read spice and wolf in its entirety in english, even though it was not my mother language. So I associated the series's european setting with english. Here's to hoping for another english cover!

This was my all time favorite anime! The story & characters are wonderful and the romance between them is so beautiful and funny. Like two childhood friends bickering at one another. Truly a work of art. And not to mention the enthralling music!!!

People came to the series for Holo.
They stayed for the economics.
Spice and Wolf seems to be of a rare breed, a story in which actual physical violence is rare if not completely absent, still a wonderful story... now if only the Anime actually told the story in it's entirety, and didn't stop at two seasons... I say that not having read the Light Novels...
The light novels definitely include more detail and more insight into Laurence's emotions and thoughts since they are from his perspective. The air of constant teasing and the chemistry between them is more apparent in the novels too.
In my opinion the novels are better, considering at first i only started reading them to get a continuation from the anime. The atmosphere is captured so well in the novels i cannot stress any more how much i recommend reading them.

@@diabreon3094 I think it's funny how S&W tears apart the typical anime in that "She's so strong, WOW!" fight-y kind of characters is, in actuality, more-or-less useless in actual everyday life. Holo is infinitely more useful for her sharp intellect and cunning than being able to turn into a wolf the size of a bus.
