The sound of a great snare is always well appreciated
I mean his snare doesn't sound as good as Lars' trash can snare, but it's ok I guess.
Spot on A-Camp, entire Drumkit is sounding killer. But as they say the magic is in the wizard not the wand….
Love this snare. It's panned a bit far left for me. But it's proper.

I think I saw Madball in like 1994 at CBGB's. I think they were the first band to play. It was a Sunday afternoon show. I was really intoxicated too.

I've been in many bands . This drummer is better than any I've worked with . Not the fastest , no trickiest but all around the most solid with really cool hand work and flawless feet .
From the look of the lug, I think the snare is TAMA Metalworks 14"x5.5"(ST1455BN) with custom die cast hoop. Can't be sure though.

The drums sound massive nice compression on the video. Did you upgrade to something new or is the audio from front of house?
I’m pretty sure it’s the live sound mix. When he moves the snare between songs, you can hear it.
He might be blending it with the video sound though, because I’m not sure how else you would hear the crowd/cymbals/vox/guitars. There must be some sort of a room mic.

With Madball I can always feel the bass but it's very difficult to make out the notation . In my humble opinion Hoya needs a little more treble in his mix for clarity .
