I've been a fly fisherman exclusively for years. I want to become a more complete angler, and videos like this give me confidence to go out and give feeder fishing a try. Thank you for the upload.
Love feeder fishing hoping to do more this year and the sweet stuff from dynamite is awsome had over 20 carp between 6lb to 14lb on it a few weeks ago will be getting more of it lol cheers for the useful tips
Great video steve and i very impressed with all your videos you've done over the years. My only questions is ive also been scared clipping up but i know how important it is!! Some people wind a few turns once its hit the clip incase you get that run so what happens if you do suddenly get a decent fish do you try unclip super quick? That is the only reason that scares me breaking off?
Good question! I rarely have an issue when clipping up, you will be amazed in the amount of stretch/strength in your mainline. On the odd occasion a fish does pull extremely hard, I quickly remove the line from the clip. Regards, Steve.
Watched steve way back on his channel ,From the waters edge,Best tutorial videoss i have ever watched, excellent stuff steve cheers buddy very much appreciated,
Very enjoyable to watch as always Sir ! Many thanks for sharing. I learnt a lot and its very much appreciated Mate :) I am sure it will improve my feeder fishing as an older angler returning to the sport. Cheers. Rob.
What are your thoughts on hook lengths? I've been fishing a method feeder and keep it around 4inches. I've noticed people with cage feeders fish longer hook lengths though. I'm just wondering if it's worth experimenting with or if it's method dependent?
I was thinking that too - the long hooklengths surely mean that the fish can mouth the bait without showing indications on the tip? Saying that, I imagine that a very short hooklength could tangle with that type of feeder.
Method feeders are much better with a short 4" hooklink. Feeder fishing is slightly different as you tend to create a larger feeding area with the fish moving around more. When you get more advanced into feeder fishing playing around with hooklink lengths is definitely something to try. Regards, Steve.

Great video. But you missed the most important thing out.. your hands are free to have a hot brew warm you up unlike that pole fishing muck 🤮.. Re inline cage feeders still on sale or discontinued due to fish safety . Not seen any for ages
Really? Sorry you felt that way. I fished for other species in this video, not just carp. I also explained this method works for almost everything. Regards, Steve.

Great tutorial that. 👌 if you're fishing a water that has bream and carp, what is the minimum strenght tip on the feeder rod you would use?
Thanks for the kind words, I wouldn't go below a 1oz feeder tip personally. Regards, Steve.
Great video Steve, keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do! glad you enjoyed the content. Regards, Steve.

Going off the subject.. does anyone have any tips on making luncheon meat float im thinking of a wafter type on method feeder
The oil in luncheon meat does create a lighter bait naturally, you could always play around with some foam as well. Regards, Steve.
Nice one Steve. Unfortunately, paternoster/helicopter rigs are banned in a lot of fisheries now 😢
19:29 the world is your imagination 😂 gosh you must have been cold mate 🧠🥶
haha, I was very cold.. the brain freeze had fully set in. Regards, Steve.
What was the hook size?
Hook size will depend on the target species, for this session I used a size 14 hook. Regards, Steve.

Haha that is true, you don't have to concentrate so intently on the feeder either. Regards, Steve.
Fancy going to "winderclay" without a decent jacket!
Hahah I should have known better, never a calm day at Hinderclay 😀 Regards, Steve.
Îmi place. Romania

Should be titled : feeder fishing for carp on a puddle
Why? 90% of his fish were skimmers!
Really? Sorry you felt that way. I fished for other species in this video, not just carp. I also explained this method works for almost everything. Regards, Steve.
