Good stuff Steve & Amanda love these underwater videos watched the Matrix underwater videos too so good to see what is going on underwater instead of an educated guess.
Great video Steve. Certainly confirmed what we suspected about how the rigs worked. What surprised me was how much stuff the fish had stirred up. I knew that fish feeding on the bottom coloured it up and swirled the bait around, but didn’t think it would be the same when shallow fishing. As you noted some fish must be picking bait off the deck. No doubt the more bait you feed the more gets through the fish to the deck. Definitely need a bottom rig as well.
This is an excellent series of videos. Hopefully you have many more up your sleeve. The conclusion about slowing the jigga down is something that Kristian Jone and Paul Holland (amongst others have said). The jigga should be relatively slow falling, lowering it at the same rate as your feed, not constantly banging it up and down as its name suggests. It is exactly the same as an overshotted rig but designed to get around the venues that ban overshotting.
Fantastic insight to shallow fishing, maybe a light slapped over float on a shortish lash would of caught those ide above your hook bait. Great watch ,learned lots ,thanks 👌
Great under water footage Steve I noticed you had a back shot above the over shotted rig does this help keep that rig straighter look forward to the next video good stuff well explained 👋👋👍👍👍
For me match anglers seem to have forgot the strap that we used to wrap around our legs to Support, raise and lower the rig whilst feeding with the pole, the rig must fall amongst the feed constantly, little and very often.
I've never seen this strap before, I can see how that would be useful for anglers who struggle to feed and hold the pole at the same time. Regards, Steve.

Great video, thanks. Personally don’t like the principle of overshotted or no shot rigs. I did feel with the first rig it was more effective when the bait was falling through the water and when it was static the fish often swam past it. Liked the counting to 3 on the jigga, something I’ll try.
@@AnglingDirectTV It lays open all sorts of questions as to how can trick if you like those mouthing fish into taking the maggot more positively,i.e types of rigs, feeding rates and quantities, taking in to consideration water clarity, water temperature. I do think there is a time and a place for all types of shallow rigs, for me its how they chose to feed governs it. Anyway enough waffling. A very enjoyable video Steve. Thank you
It's a fair comment! With the limitations of the underwater filming, we had to fish on the far shelf to capture the footage. Unfortunately, this means the sun is behind us and facing the camera, it's one of those things we cannot prevent at this venue. Regards, Steve.

FANTASTIC INCITE TO SHALLOW FISHING STEVE,GREAT VID PRESENTATION AND EXPLANATIONS,
Glad you enjoyed the video John 😊
p.s No need to shout 😉🤭
Good stuff Steve & Amanda love these underwater videos watched the Matrix underwater videos too so good to see what is going on underwater instead of an educated guess.
Thanks Michael, They are tricky to film but well worth the effort. Glad you enjoy them. Regards, Steve.
Great video. Most of the waters I fish have banned overshotting rigs during matches, so I tend to use a jigger.
Thanks for the comment. Yeah, if the venue has banned overshooting then the Jigger is the best option. Regards, Steve.

Thanks Chris! Yeah, having a rig to fish on the bottom is a must, especially after watching the footage. Regards, Steve.
Another brilliant video Steve, thanks for sharing. Armed with this knowledge I hope to put more fish in my net. 🎣 😊
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, good luck with your fishing. Regards, Steve.
A very interesting watch Stephen, particulary the Jigger slowed down ! This has fired my imagination ,rollon summer!
Thanks for the comment, It's nice to see the true reaction underwater to fully understand all these improvements. Regards, Steve.
Another great video from Stephen and Amanda can't wait to give this a go and really looking forward to the next one. Keep em coming guys!
Thanks Terry, I hope the fishing goes well. Regards, Steve.
Another excellent video. So interesting to see the differences in the way the rigs act and work.
Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for leaving a comment. Regards, Steve.

Thanks Lee, slowing down the Jigga is something I will be doing from now on. Regards, Steve.

Glad you enjoyed the video, hopefully we can all learn a few things. Regards, Steve.

Thanks William! Yeah, the back shot helps keep the rig as tight as possible. Regards, Steve.

Have you got a pic as an example of how the strap works please
I've never seen this strap before, I can see how that would be useful for anglers who struggle to feed and hold the pole at the same time. Regards, Steve.
@@wharfeegodid you provide a picture. I would be really interested to see this strap method. Thanks
@@eddiewild7215 - Eddie, I was asking Angling Direct if they could provide a pic of said strap.
Fishing with a strap on 😂 thats sure to put your competitors off
Can I please ask what camera you using for underwater
Thanks

Thanks Paul, I hope we can all learn a few things to improve our fishing... counting to 3 is something I will continue to do. Regards, Steve.
Really good video .....were did you get your top kit markers ? My mtx top kits don't have them lol
Thanks Martin, I draw my markers with a permanent pen. Black on a grey top kit and silver/gold on a black top kit. Regards, Steve.
Brilliant vid 👏👏
Was very interesting to see how the fish reacted to the falling bait etc
Thx Steve 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it, watching the true reactions is always very interesting. Regards, Steve.
At meadow farm are over shotted floats allowed in matches?
Yes, Meadow Farm does allow overshotting in matches. Regards, Steve.
Awesome! Thanks so much for sharing :)
Glad you enjoyed the video. Regards, Steve.
Cracking video. Thanks for making this. Great stuff. 🐳👍👏👏👏👏
Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed it. Regards, Steve.
Narborough is like tap water Wigget, good one for F1s and carp filming. Speak to Tim I’m sure he’ll appreciate the publicity.
Thats a good shout Mick! We are looking for new venues, this could be perfect. Regards, Steve.
Great Vtdeo.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Do you always use a pole ?
Not always, we hope to produce other underwater episodes soon. Regards, Steve.
Its noticable that the less aggresive feeding fish are actually watching the bait fall
Hi Kevin, It was interesting to see for sure! I hope this has answered a few questions about how the fish are actually feeding. Regards, Steve.

Lordy ,shipping back undoeing sections why are poles a thing, can fish quicker with a rod n 506 . Go figure 😊
