First Time Reaction to Mae Muller's I Wrote a Song /// Eurovision 2023

Welcome back to my channel. Today, I'm going to share my reaction to Mae Muller's "I wrote a song," which is competing in Eurovision 2023. Unfortunately, I had to cut out the music to avoid copyright issues, but I can still give my thoughts on the vocals, lyrics, and visuals.
Firstly, I have to say that Mae Muller has an incredible voice, and the music video is fantastic. I enjoyed the lyrics and the storytelling, but I have mixed feelings about the instrumental. It starts off strong and impactful, but it quickly becomes repetitive and dull.
Moreover, the style of music doesn't really represent the UK's musical landscape. It's more reminiscent of South American music than anything else I've heard in the contest before. I think that the UK's music culture could have been represented with a different style of music, but that's just my personal opinion.
Overall, Mae Muller did a great job with the vocals and the visuals, but the instrumental didn't match up to the same level. What do you think about the song? I know this song is not very popular among eurofans, but I like this entry - especially for the lyrics, as you have mentioned, too.
Could you check out this song - THE HARDKISS - Маяк (official video)? Part of this song was opening Eurovision 1st Semi-final, and the singer was one of the hosts. This is a Ukrainian band, I really hope you will like them!
