Love the action of the supera
Thanks Buddy, I'm after a margin feeder rod for big evening lumps. It has to be soft, but able to land big fish, and not flatten out. I'll try the matrix line, thanks.
A good review with your points well explained! I've been using my 10ft Mini CarbonActive for years and I love it, half tempted to swap it now but we'll see...
Hang fire Gavin as Preston bringing out the Supera X range, which they are pretty excited about.I have had both Supera's and carbon actives and the difference isn't that great. The carbon actives were pretty revolutionary.
Well thought out video paul, thanks for the info, but l think I'll stick with my acolyte plus, keep em coming.
Great review thank you I’ve got the ignition 9ft and 10ft and love them even though they are a lot cheaper
What's the action like on the 10ft ignition Mate after rod action like on the supera but like you say the ignition are cheaper Cheers
Good review and comparison of the two rods 😉👍
Thanks for the good feedback. Both rods are excellent, if I lost all my gear and had to start from scratch the Supera would be my first rod purchase.
New Supera X due to hit the shops now Paul more expensive though. My 10' rods are MAP Ultra ll's l sold my Superas tp part fund the MAPs. I like the matt finish on my rods and l wouldn't swap them for any other. The top end Daiwas are lovely blanks but l'm a short handle fan and Daiwa tend to make theirs 40mm too long .
How many millimeters is the diameter of the blank just above the halter of the machine reel?
Paul, what lines do you, or Preston suggest for a main line on the 10' please? Nice video buddy.
I use Matrix Horizon 8lb line for all my carp work. It is only 0.20mm diameter which is comparable to 5 or 6lb in other brands. I have tried others but the Matrix has never let me down or caused me any difficulties, sinks well and takes some breaking when you hit a snag or cast into a tree!
Thanks buddy, appreciate your insight...was thinking to match with a magitude 320 to have well balanced weight, considering i dont chuck further than 30m, would you suggest a 420?
Personally I use 420 size reels on all my feeder rods up to 50m, I feel they balance the rods better and have a bit more winding power.
Going to get this rod for up to 40metres after seeing your review,,,,Do you think the Supera 11•6 rod would cast 65metres,,any thoughts please,, thankyou in advance
Not seen or handled the 11-6, certain it would cast a hybrid that far, they fly so well. I still love using the 10’ Supera, had a great day with medium carp and tench last week.
I have the 11ft 6" Supera, its a great rod. However, I wouldn't want to be pushing 65m and your accuracy will also be affected as a result. Up to 50m I would say is more realistic.
His this still classed as a corbonactive Paul because that's all I can find on the internet
Yes, the word carbonactive is still part of its name.
