@@kamadowoah4584age them for 3 days with filet still on them just remove gills and guts. Then process them after the 3 days and you have sushi grade tuna.there the only eatable tuna that doesn't have low stocks.

Surprised you didn't keep a few stripy tuna for whole trawling baits. Those big bait episodes are really good. I never laughed so hard when you caught that big snapper on one expecting a mackerel 🤣.
Definitely jiggly on that second day, to say the least Reminds me of a few nights trawling in building seas, just before our skipper called it so we wouldnt bend any gear. Bet you slept well after that 14hr core workout 💪 Well done guys, not all beer and skittles but some lovely yellow fin for all your efforts.
We were outside the outer reef just north of Daintree one year and struck a school of small yellowfin (30-40lb) that stretched for over 5kms, it was impossible to put any lure out the back without it being immediately taken.
Shauno shoulda tried to lip that first yellowfin instead of gaffing it. Razzing out of the way, great video as always man, congrats on the awesome trip!
Check out the tuna champions videos for how to best look after your fish. Brain spike properly, artery bleed behind pectorals, pressure bleed, spinal release, gill and gut and ICE SLURRY not just ice. You will notice the difference clearly when you get it spot on.
For the life of me don't understand letting go all those skipjacks. There some of best eating tuna in the ocean. It called katsuo sushi. Maybe it a American thing when fishing of the keys in Florida we pick them up when looking for bonito for swordfish bait
He would for sure. Vegans and Karen's often report fish bleeding and killing videos to UA-cam and complain so a lot of fisho tubers just don't include that kind of content anymore.

Idk about you but in Australia we use them as skip baits to catch marlin
They should keep one and do a blind taste test, I think they would be surprised 😋
We use them as bait fish down here in southeast Texas. A million better tasting fish than them that’s for sure.
Definitely edible....most greenseas and John West is skipjack. Lot of blood in them. Takes a lot of work at the cannery to make em taste nice

It is a Carolina Classic. 2x315hp, 4.2 litre, 6cyl Yanmars. Essentially mariniezed 2H Landcruiser engines.
