Hey there! LOVE your drawings! You have such a nice style-I was so surprised to see the drawing of Clever with baby Hope! ❤️ Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on both series. Great review! 😊 Have a wonderful day!
I've really liked IHS' more recent pages for much the same reason as why I'd preferred the parts that focused on Diamond for the majority of my time reading it- the chapters with Hopeful in her old pride felt like a "My Pride But Better™" checklist. It felt like we just had to get through certain plot points before the story could fully go in an interesting direction. Evil abusive leader says stuff about the MC being worthless and a waste of food? Check. Onto the next thing. Grey outsider lioness and the MC fall in love after it's established that the grey outsider lioness doesn't see the MC's disability as all that big of a deal? Check! Onto the next thing! The mom giving the MC a cruel name because of her disability a-lá Judge Claude Frollo? Checkerooni, but this time it comes with a built-in less bad nickname! Next point! No wonder Diamond's chapters were my favorite. Aside from Diamond just being cool, it felt so much more like it was going somewhere instead of just hitting plot beats. Now though, I can actually connect somewhat with the trio. I can get sympathetically outraged at how this other evil lion treats Adamant as if she'll "come around" to being drafted into being a baby factory for his son whom she's never met. I can feel for Hopeful because yeah, it _is_ concerning that Storm hasn't emerged from the giant canyon full of murderdogs yet! I can be actually a little concerned about Storm vanishing in general, which is notable since she was the character who I thought was the most bland for a while back when the checklist was happening. Now I'm not just pushing through the Hope pages so I can have context for when the trio eventually meet up with Diamond in however many chapters. I'm actually excited for the Hope pages now. I can confidently say that if anyone reading this had any hesitations about reading IHS before, definitely go read it now. Rip the band-aid off with the checklist pages, because the super good stuff is now here and it is _FLOWING!_ You won't regret it, I promise!
I like both series but, I feel that "I hope so", is a somewhat strange and well-made copy... a lioness with a problem in her paw, a family that does not love her (except the grandmother), 2 "better" sisters than she, (the quiet and perfect one) oh what a coincidence, this lioness lives in a pride and likes another lioness(and lions), oh coincidence.. there's another lioness that is a LESBIAN and does not have a pride, she is gray and has blue eyes. And we cannot forget either of Ghost, or rather, the great pride of white lions and kansu
The creator of I Hope So expressed their dislike for Nothing and Hover's relationship as it progressed in S1 and I completely understand that Hope and Storm is probably their vision of what it should've been, but they could've at least tried to make the initial comic in it's entirety not look like a copy and paste of My Pride. The designs are similar, the story is pretty much the same, the two lioness sisters that ridicule the main character but eventually end up befriending them, the neglectful/bashful mother. It's not very unique unfortunately.
I agree with estevan, it happens, and although they could have used a different type of disabuility, but they are different, the characters act in different ways and although the plot may be similar it doesn't mean it's copied, I get what you mean by it, but I don't think it was intentional, I'd have to check when the series both started being made, but I hope so could be coming out about as long as my pride has, that type of stuff happens. I don't know how far you've red, and I don't think this comment was meant to be mean, but yeah 'copy' yeah a bit of a strong word. Sure they may have made it a kinda what if (again as estevan has mentioned) but If you check the release dates of I hope so and my pride you might find out they came out around the same time and that they used that kinda plot only because they didn't like Nothing and hovers relationship or pretty much the bad writing of that whole series.
@@Storm_Chaser325 I agree, but I didn't want to use the word inspired or such else because I'm not quite getting that from IHS. I started the comic back when the first dub released, awaited the second one, and decided to move ahead from the Webtoon afterwards. I THINK it started around after episode 8 or 9 of MP dropped. Still, in my honest opinion, IHS does look like a copy. I'm not sure where your getting the "the characters act different" thing from because they really don't, they act and strangely look like the character of which we'll say was "inspired" from MP and there's a lack of originality in the entire comic. Considering how similar MP and IHS look in terms of, well, everything. I highly doubt it was just by pure coincidence.
Why thank you that's awesome I'm so glad to hear and , I have not heard of Endless shadows but I will be sure to add to my list to do a review as soon as possible!
personally i prefer i hope so over my pride. i never liked how the main couple of my pride was almost never together despite the twitter advertising the series being about gay lions. it's like a romance movie but the main couple never actually starts talking until an hour into the movie.
From the official toyhouse of the creator of I hope so I believe yes Storm is a lioness refered to by the others as she / Her but as mentioned in the comics she grows out her mane , when hope points out how handsome it is she's happy about the compliment and later in the comic if you haven't read too far *spoiler ish* When they were hiding from Jasper he says to Storm your courting the wrong heir and female wanderers masquerading as kings , Storm replies lioness can be kings fuzzbrain So based off all this I would say yes unless information changes over time
I Hope So does a better job at fleshing out the characters and the world building and storytelling are better. I loved My Pride but after watching many reviews on it and learning the stories of behind the scenes and just the creator’s drama, I realize what a lot of people have said are true. The writing was inconsistent, Nothing’s character has little to no development, and even when she’s taught a lesson in one episode, and in the next she reverts back to her previous role. I wish it could have ended better, but I’m glad for watching it. I Hope So is a stand out comic and tells a story that is engaging and I’m left wanting more.
I haven't dug into the people who developed my pride but the main creator said out right that they likely won't do a season 2 without heavy alterations as they didn't fully refine what they made and I think it shows the Initial creation was a butter sweet making of getting it done but with back lash and consistency to the fact not everyone will like the art or artist of my pride but everyone has the right to opinion and I think revision and review is nessicary as now if there is any season 2 perhaps they can see the reviews and learn from what didn't work in the first place and what ever about them that makes them a bad person they can work on them selves as they even said they weren't in a great place when finishing my pride
@@stencilfox5 it’s not the season 2 thing, it’s how the creators act outside of my pride. A lot of them are just, horrible people. there’s a pretty good document on it.
@@froginthebag ah, I think it's because I hadn't looked into the people behind the creation much I'm unfamiliar with it all I sort if go off of the art vs artist mind set where I and many others likely just watch the show as it was and left it there and didn't look into more of the creator as it wasn't something worth my time and energy, that might just be a me thing as I tend to hyper fixate on shows , games, movies , artists etc and there's time I just forget something or someone exists for a period of time or the worse end, I spend too much time and energy on something or someone and work myself up behind what is needed and think, if I keep coming back to this thing or person and they don't change, its on me to step away from it or them, but that's just me and how I see and do things at the current point in time. Sorry for the long bit of text but I do see your point and hope that nothing worse comes from them after how they acted if they are more active outside of my pride
"I hope so" is so much better than "My Pride" and I dont care if i should not compare. My Pride is not one of those shows where you can seperate the art from the artist where the show just absolutely fails itself. There is alot of amounts of problematic themes in the show like how they try to speak against abliesm, but turns out the writing and show itself turned abliest. Nothing and Hovers relationship became so toxic out of nowhere its just so disgusting to watch, and especially since your advertising them like some healthy LGBTQ+ couple when in reality Hover comes off as toxic and just down right manipulative. Another thing that made me upset was how they want to now keep the name "Nothing" which is literally an abliest name given to her by her abliest mother..its deeply upsetting how they wrote that and even Feather adding in "Nothing means something" which pisses me off so much. They out of no where wrote Nothings brother as a literal asshole, which they had the opportunities to CHANGE NOTHINGS NAME..the writing is just all over the place and eventually becomes overly abliest..with I Hope So they remove all those horrible qualities and bring good qualities, its the same storyline but better, and the relationship between Hope and Storm is not toxic whatsoever. The mother is in credibly abliest and names the main character "Hopeless" in which they immediately wrote to have her name as "Hope"...and especially adding in another kingdom/pride with a gay lion couple and a disabled daughter who will soon become king. I Hope So is written greatly and the LGBTQ+ and Disability representation is done so well compared to My Pride. I hope "I Hope So" continues its greatly written comic and "My Pride" stays where its at so we dont have anymore issues.
I hope so written greatly? Has a lot of moments when nothing happens, cardboard characters, cringe dialogue. And the lore is told in the most boring way. The creator is just another mean tumblr user that belives is a writer

Even with some similarities I'm happy to say I like both sets and characters, however I've grown a much fonder attachment towards the story of I hope so as Hope and Storm are much better bonded they start out as friends and grow where as Nothing and Hover started out with a weird instant connection but felt like after episode 8 I think they tore Hovers character away from nothing and with the story Nothing is bound by destiny and has to be a choice to follow Ghost and the goddesses or a fate larger than just her will spiral , where as for Hope her story carries more towards the group of her and Storm as a group together as a couple and supporting each other making their own path and standing up for herself choosing to be safe and rebel rather than possibly die by her father's cruel rule. Sort of just up to the interpretation of the reader and if you just look at them as characters base line but where they differ really comes down to the personality, story arks and even the artists them selves for both series are two vastly different people writing and drawing their own lion stories. I might be digging deep for this but I just love character design that also reflects excellent in the story bringing the characters to life!
I am not sure I see the similarly past the lions, lgbt theme, and the disability, the two have different story and personality especially lately in the comic but I don't want to spoil ,and pretty sure the creator of I hope so did say themselves they had wanted to make it based on the my pride and try their own hand at their idea, but I can't speak for them , if you look up detectivecalicos channel they have a video on it
@@stencilfox5 ok if they based it off my pride they shouldn't be shit talking on it not everyone is a goddess at making stories Detective Calico is quite bitchy if u ask me I like "I hope so" but Calico themselves no
I see a lot of people in the comments saying they think that I Hope So is better than My Pride and to be honest I'm rather shocked about it. I don't prefer either over the other. Mainly because majority of what's included in I Hope So is just a massive copy and paste of My Pride and you can't exactly have a preference for one if both are so obviously the same thing. Don't get me wrong though, SOME things in IHS are somewhat original and mildly interesting when reading the comic or watching the dubs. But not without being heavily insipred by MP whether it's character design/personality or just the story in general.
Wild guess but it could just be that IHS handles its LGBTQ+ and disability representation better than MP and greater care has been taken with the writing in general? I think experiencing a world where I'm not gonna be told I'm gonna be sentenced to death for being gay is actually enough grounds for me to have a preference if that's ok by you :> The creators not being awful people also helps. Maddi stating that lesbians should still be able to say they're lesbians while dating trans men and deciding to use BLM to promote her series also lost me personally... I also think it's doing a massive disservice to the comic's art design to say it's a "copy and paste" of MP. IHS's character design seems to have been handled by somebody with obvious knowledge of how design, color and shape reflects a character's personality. My Pride's character's designs are same-y, generic and/or consists of traits that are all 'this seems cool, let's slap it on the character for no real reason' (i.e. Nothing's weird af steak face marking, Hover's piercings). Heavy emphasis on """generic""" because Storm's design (the one that mp fans claim is the most blatant "copy") was actually made a year before Hover's design dropped by pure coincidence. Same argument applies to the personalities. They're generic and basic and there are also clear differences with how these personalities have been worked with in IHS too. Hopeful isn't a doormat for the other characters, for example. She's an optimist who can stand up for herself. Storm isn't a shameless conformist who bends to the status quo like Hover did, she's streetwise and devout to her carefree lifestyle. Vicious actually has rationale for her behavior outside of 'my child is disabled, therefore she sucks' as a victim of abuse herself. Adamant isn't a self-pitying ableist bitch like Farleap and is capable of reflection and growth. but in summary: there are very good reasons for disliking MP, mainly because of its terrible writing and the fact that the creator isn't a great person all around. If you wanna stan for both, go for it but I wouldn't say it's shocking that people aren't rooting for a series made by a racially insensitive transphobe lmao
Bro I hope so is totally copieing my pride stealing like so many details just changeing hover to being a boy and the person wgho made my pride is not a bad person yes the one thing in the story said that but it is the creator is not a bad person it is the character that is bad or in the story plot bad I'm not saying the actor is bad it is a story plot
The creator of I hope so has already stated it's there take on my pride but their own story, characters etc it's not my place to speak for either creator, just if you like or don't like it that is your choice and same for to an extent separating the art(or creative works) from creator, you can like or hate something without liking or hating someone, I'm not great at in depth detail on this but everyone will have different opinions on the matter
Storm (I Hope So's version of Hover) isn't a boy, she's a lioness with a mane. The other use She/Her pronouns when refering to her. So they didn't remove the lesbian couple, it's still there 🌈
Well i read so many books about animals and i have to say. I hope so Is one of the most pretencious lamest stories i ever watch. Too many characters with hardly any personality more than basic arquetypes. Cringe dialogue and such mediocre narrative that jumps a part to another with no explanation. The art Is nice but the Story Is so obvious and takes forever to start. My pride isnt a masterpiece but at least i can end an episode without want to screw It . Sorry but i feel it so so bad
Hey, it's one thing to post criticism but content made by our fans isn't really the place for it. We already saw you making pretty personal comments about us on a MAP part for the Little Ray project over on Twitter (which actually resulted in us blocking you) so carrying on the issue on another random person's fanart is actually very rude and weird.
If your referring to Amanecer458 I'm sorry about them and hope they aren't going to cause trouble I have a no tolerance to anything that may cause probems to ither from my channel, im happy to remove their comment off youtube if its troublesome , if you mean me I hope not as i haven't commented in ages but do like your art from time to time and I love your works and if i ever do anything that needs to be addressed 😵💫
bruh saying that MP "isn't a masterpiece" and nothing else while also being so pressed about 'issues' in IHS that MP handles far worse doesn't hide your obvious bias but I give you a 8/10 for effort

I used to be a VA for my pride
Hai it’s been a while
Heya , it has been nice to see you again
