Richard any magnet should work for the speed sensor. that is interesting however that the sensor is so far away from the spokes- usually the magnet is small and low profile, and the sensor stretches over to the magnet. As for the hub, i think it might be normal that its noisy and loud when its freewheeling. The cyclists have those wheels too where it has that crazy loud ratcheting noise when you freewheel. Since its a mid drive it shouldn’t make that noise when the motor is going. Just when you coast
Its hard to find. Look for the Zibra, then when your on the page look for the button to select the D5 Pro. It does not change the page, it just indicates which version you want when you add it to the shopping cart. Its confusing.
@@pedrofernandez8729 came out with xpeak , expedition, xp3, …… what they do each line has one gimmick to buy them. Like the One with automatic shifting but no suspension. Fork on xpeak, price on xp3.
If you want to try, and use your magnet, how about using some spacers behind the sensor and moving it closer to the spoke? Lowe's sells all kinds of spacers in hardware. I did tell me that Himiway didn't really test the bike at the factory, though. BTW, I love the channel, since you are the "average owner" and not some e-bike technician way above the heads of customers.
If you like riding this like a bicycle, you will love it. If you like riding it like a small motorcycle, you will not enjoy it very much. 500 w mid drive is plenty strong. The magnet on the rear wheel should have nothing to do with the torque sensor. That should be a speed sensor only. You might check where it is connected to the chain stay and see if it can be adjusted out. Most of them can. Congrats on the new bike.
I have a 450 watt mid drive with 140 nm of torque ….. your gonna Love it you’ll never go back to a Hub Drive ….. this is going more then your 3 month. Forever Bike. Don’t worry about the thumb throttle once you get used to a mid drive with a torque sensor you’ll never use it, It’s just a matter of learning the sweet spots with PAS level gear and speed.
Never pedalled a mid drive yet but imagine its why use thumb throttle in conjunction w just leaving in pas1 and a lot of high gear while still mostly pedalling with resistance
With a mid drive you're gonna have to use the gears, like when you get started, use a low gear and go up as you pick up speed. Mid motor works a lot different, if you keep it in high gear, you will hurt the motor and the chain as well.
Sorry Richard, so many issues on these electric trikes/bikes. My, like do many, had the Lectric debacles. I have an Addmotor trike coming today, hoping it goes smooth...
The noise is just the freewheel. Not uncommon on a lot of bikes. You probably will not hear it when you are actually riding. You'll hear it big time when you have the back wheel lifted off the ground.
I don't hear it when riding unless I stop pedaling and just coasting, then its crazy noisy. I am going to add some dry lube to it tomorrow and see if it helps.
@@EbikeReviews if it gives you any solace Richard, I've only heard that ratcheting on the higher caliber of free wheels. So that might be a good thing. Just call it the sound of quality. Lol
Is that a UL Certified battery and electrical system? I’m a little surprised you are so high on this bike with the problems you’ve had right out of the box and how noisy it is. I’ll wager it won’t be long and you will be onto another forever bike.
Hey, its still a nice bike. I received the missing magnet yesterday and its riding nice. There are two more things I am trying to get addressed, the noise is one of them.
Forever the next three months😄 Not sure you’re going to find a left-hand half throttle you could put it on, but you’d have to do it opposite rotations. And if you put it on the right side, you won’t be able to use the trigger shifter. That’s why more manufacturers don’t put trigger shifters unless you put the throttle on the left-hand side
@@pedrofernandez8729 me too only use it to take off for the most part and I charge all my bikes to thumb throttles. I find people that use their throttle a lot like the twist throttle, and those of us that don’t like the thumb throttle
The big Sure looks great, I saw it in my local bike shop. They said the company has been the best to work with. In fact, the local shop told the company about me and they sent me an email about possibly working out a deal. They want to meet the next time they are in the area, which sounds like it will be soon. Who knows, maybe I'll end up with one. :-)
lectric took 4 months to send me a rear hydraulic brake when they sent me 2 fronts by mistake. The only silver lining was that they didn't ask for the wrong part back. I just had to ride with no rear brakes for 4 months.
do you not like the aventon adventure 2 ?

500 W for a mid drive is quite powerful, most of the ones I see are 250 or 350.
Yeah.
Xpremium is 500 watt mid drive. Over 90 nm torque.

LOVE your new Himiway Zebra D5-pro, bro !!! It’s a bummer you’re missing the spoke magnet!
It sounds to me like the freewheel is dry, meaning it doesn’t have any sort of lubricant.
The freewheel that is on my new Himiway Cruiser step-thru doesn’t sound anything like that. In fact I can barely hear it.
Yeah, I didn't think of that, I will add some dry lube to see if it helps. @@donnieshirley1050
