About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). Five successive UK #1 albums followed - with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. For those who are interested in the ice cream recipe, following are the ingredients:
4 yolks of free range eggs
100g of castor sugar （3.5 ounces）
1 tsp of corn starch (or you can leave it out)

1 vanilla pod

The Magic Whip is definitely my favorite Blur album! It's got the perfect blend of early Blur, late Blur, and even some Gorillaz.
And this song is right up there as one of my favorite songs ever.
This and 13 are the best blur albums (in my opinion)

+Caleb Jaaniste (K-leb) their sort of in the middle for me, as in their not my favorites but not least favorites either
I've been reading a lot of comments about "Damon and his lack of creativity nowadays" "Blur sh***y new songs" and I think that Blur is doing what not all the bands can do, to change their sound, play with new ideas, think about new Noel's album, it's just what an Oasis fan is expecting... In my opininon Damon is one of the best songwriters of all time!

to anyone who need the recipe here you go (sorry in advance for any errors, i was using google translate)

First, separate the egg whites from the yolks, and place the yolks in a large bowl
(For this recipe, you will not need egg whites, you can use egg whites to make French meringue shortbread.)
Pour granulated sugar into the egg yolk liquid, and use an egg beater to beat until the color is white and thick
At this time, add the mixture of method (2) and stir evenly
Take a medium pot, put fresh cream and milk in it
Heat the mixture of method (5) until it is about to boil and turn off the flame
Slowly pour the heated mixture into the

I think that no sounds like Gorillaz,maybe that the best songs of the second álbum of the band:"modern life is Rubish" released in 1992,songs like "Oily Water" and "Coling Zeal"
I feel it too :) But Gorillaz are in a whole other creative stratosphere. Blur is more about the raw british music, which is still good.
My mood was really going downhill in those days, this came out at the perfect moment. Reminds me of 13 Long live to Blur. Amen.

What an album! Brings elements of Gorillaz and Coxon's solo work to the mix, making an album as all out fun as any of their first four. Love it!
Here is an impressive audio detail on this album. At the very beginning of the first track Lonesome Street you hear a strange digital whip-like sound effect, repeating in both the left and right speakers.
I thought it sounded like a "magic whip" so I listened to the Ice Cream Man song, and at 2:06 there is the same sound effect. It comes just after this line: "With a swish of his magic whip, All the people in the party froze".
So the album actually begins with a magic whip! Hats off to the producer Stephen Street for making this much effort.

Will never forget seeing them at the barrowlands in Glasgow 9/6/15 Damon stage diving...coming out of that gig just drenched in sweat on a hot summers night, at one point sweat just hit the roof and came down like rain. Magic.

Love the guitar and that bass is CRAZY
being such a huge blur fan for all these years. Waiting for their return was something I know a lot of us have been dreaming of. Well after this song came out, it put me in the most beautiful mood ever, well not only that but I met a girl the next day, and when I tell you that I think I'm going to marry her! I truly mean it. I know that this song and my meeting this girl has no real correlation but the thing is... Blur - Go out was stuck in my head the entire time... it means something to me now. I see her and I think of this song.
