    About Blur:
Blur were formed in 1989 by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree and signed with Food/EMI the same year. Announcing their arrival with debut album Leisure in 1991, Blur continued to revolutionise the sound of English popular music with second release Modern Life Is Rubbish (1993). Five successive UK #1 albums followed - with Parklife (1994) and The Great Escape (1995) helping to propel the band to mass popularity in the UK and beyond. The eponymous Blur was released in 1997 and seventh album Think Tank (2003) was Blur’s first as a three-piece after the temporary departure of founding guitarist Graham Coxon.
Twenty one years after the release of their debut album, 2012 saw Blur 21: The Box, the band's body of work compiled and gathered together into one box. Their most recent release as a four-piece, the critically acclaimed chart-topping album The Magic Whip (2015), started life in Hong Kong when the band had an unexpected break in touring in May 2013.

Am I the only one who absolutely adores this video??? It was almost hypnotizing... it was just calming, and peaceful, and I couldn't take my eyes off the dancing... it's just so _refreshing_ compared to normal music videos...
I mean, music videos rarely even make sense anyway; they just have a lot of random shit going on to entertain you. This doesn't make much sense either, but I like how it's cute and simple and oddly mesmerizing instead of just busy, dramatic, and over-stimulating like most videos...

flayuhat the whole vibe of it reminded me of a ghibli movie because, like you said, it's hypnotizing in it's simplicity and sweet in it's innocence. In my opinion this is a lovely music video

People really need to be more accepting of change. The reason why the new videos are so different is because 1. The members are really busy with other projects
    2. The album was literally just finished this year.
    3. It is likely because of the setting of the album (Hong Kong, China)
    4. It's art! They are allowed to do videos how they want.
If anything, the band doesn't really have that much to do with the videos. It's someone else saying "We think this would be really cool" and they agree. I don't think they all convey the same meaning as the song, but it's a change and the videos are still good. Let's just enjoy these videos how they are, as well as the fact that this is probably Blur's best album so far besides maybe 13! And Blur is back together! We should all be excited, not whining about videos...

I am from Hong Kong and I can't relate the video to my hometown at all. In Hong Kong we use traditional Chinese characters, while this one uses simplified Chinese characters. Not to mention that the dancing group are from San Francisco and they are dancing like how those aunties from mainland China do. Period.
      I love Blur though. :P

“When I was listening back to it with Stephen, I thought, ‘Why not go the whole hog and have a really Syd Barrett-y middle-eight in there?’” recalls Coxon. “So I wrote another section for it, which is about the way you seem to ride the tarmac in Hong Kong: you stand on the road, you don’t move, and it’ll take you anywhere you want to go. It’s a very lighthearted way to start the record.”

    What do you got?
    Mass produced in somewhere hot
You'll have to go on the Underground
    To get things done here
(And then you have to see)
If you need a yellow duck - service done
This is a place to come to, or, well, it was
    I know a hot spot
    Crossing on the guillotine
And if you have nobody left to rely on
I'll hold you in my arms and let you drift
It's got to be that time again
And June, June will be over soon again
So get yourself up, get past on your way
There's nothing to be ashamed of
    Taking off again
    The 514 to East Grinstead
(You've sent me off to see)
We're going up, up, up, up, up
    Coursing on our greatest night
    反方向重复“up, up, up, up, up”这句的动作
And talking types will let us down, again
Talk, talk on your arse all night
    You wanna be there
    Step inside the tarmac ride
To the land that crime forgot
    Oh, just don't go there
    Cracks inside the tarmac ride
To the land that crime forgot, oh no
And if you have nobody left to rely on
I'll hold you in my arms and let you drift

The new album that this song is from was recorded in Hong Kong and that obviously influenced their, in my opinion, wonderful film clip for this fantastic song. I adore the dancing and the nod to Chinese culture. Bravo.

For a month a lived in Casa Melissa at North Beach in San Fran in front of Union Square park ...and how surreal to wake up and see from your window some of these dancers you see in this video in the morning practicing ..and keep to yourself... Can't quite say "Hi i recognize you from the Blur video". So smiled upon seeing some of them and walked on to my own lonesome street.

Love the video. That's why they made it in the 90s, because they weren't afraid to be different. When everybody was into grunge they said, "no, we're different. We're british, not american". Now they say, we're back and we love Hong Kong and China.Cool.
