Being single is the time when you find out who you are first. You will lose yourself when you’re in a serious relationship without having your own identity. Your identity will change and be tied to your partner, especially if you get married. But if you know who you are inside, you will be stronger and better able to share in a relationship.
Loved that message at the end! We don't have to be in a relationship to be happy. It's important that we learn to be happy with other things first for us to be ready to be in a relationship, so that our happiness would not be too dependent on our partner.

It's funny how Filipino parents forbid their teenage children to engage in a relationship. Eventually, they'll start to pressure them on having children. I mean how in the heck are we able to give them grandchildren when we aren't yet interested in being n a relationship? The best way we respond to those is by asking the question "what breed would you like to have as your grandchild? Do you prefer cats or dogs?"

there's a lot of korean high teen dramas that centers in a love stories (which I am a fan of) and I noticed that having a first kiss is a big deal to an 18y/old girls and boys😂 I mean, they pity someone and ask why they didn't have their first kiss😂 is it just normal in Korea to kiss a guy/girl when u are still a teenager?

Koreans make some excellent media, and I remember when I first started watching k-dramas I had such a hard time understanding some of the things that happened between characters and things that were said. One of the first things that confused me was “ideal type” and even until I watched this video I wasn’t completely sure. The concept seems so foreign to me, and yet I wouldn’t think anything of hearing someone say “he/she is not my type” in America 😂. This video is very helpful in understanding the dating culture as I continue watching my k-soaps❤ definitely wouldn’t be opposed to dating an oppa, but it seems they aren’t too into white girls, or foreign girls. Well I guess I’ll just keep loving my BTS and The Rose from a distance…💜💜🌹🌹

Haven't watched one of your videos in awhile. This video was so mature. I found it fascinating. I have several Korean friends and as a kid did taekwondo. So I was always learning a bit about Korean culture. This was facinating! Also... I get hooked on korean shows! My favorite so far because I'm in tech was Start-up!

I was told that 100 days thing is more likely for teenagers or childish young adults. Is it still a thing for couples whose ages are in their late 20s or 30s?
Can you do a video on what to expect/how to eat at a Korean BBQ/Hotpot place? Whenever I go, I'm lost. Do you just put the meat on the grill? Do you dip them in sauces to marinate them beforehand? What are the most common side dishes you can expect? When I first went to one, I didn't even know what side dishes were. And how to cook using the hotpot. Basically, I need a 101 class on Korean BBQ places so I can ore fully enjoy my time eating there.

I have never been in a relationship either, while my peers are having their "first love" and some might say I was missing out on life. I honestly think I'm fine being single, of course I have thoughts of what it's like being in a relationship but just like ate Jessica said life is not all about dating. At the age of 18(which I think still too young), I've never had jowa and I've noticed that I don't seem to be drawn to guys; I don't know, maybe I'm still too pure and childish to perceive them romantically lol.
However, I believe that if someone has a good heart and is honest, they are easy to love, regardless of ethnicity (Korean, Filipino, etc.)
And stay single as long as you want. because for me, being in a romantic relationship is not like a dress that you wear when it's trendy but it's a destiny that can be felt spontaneously if it's set by the time.

It's surprising when you said, Korea as a couple-centric country because I have watched some vloggers (non koreans who happened to have a korean husband/wife) who said that some or most koreans aren't not that interested into dating bcoz of the commitment and it's financially impacting. That's why some or most of them are staying single and just wanted that way. Anyways, it's good that you have said this so that it breaks the stereotypes with comes to knowing someone's culture. I really feel awkward. It usually happens when I'm out drinking and taking a chill at a bar with friends. Good thing I usually am with guy and girl friends so we can our protection. The guys are always there to act like our boyfriends heheh safe zone. ☺️
For me, I'm happy bcs I'm single bcs I can focus/ give more time to my family❤ And for me not bcs you're single it doesn't mean you'll feel loneliness/ sadness, that's why you have friends/family they can comfort you and make you happy!😉

My personal view on the matter.
as a single woman myself in her 30's there is this question or comment that I usually hear with my relatives, classmates, acquaintances, etc. "Are you married? Do you have a boyfriend? I said "No I'm not married" No, I dont have a boyfriend right now" (i do have a BF before) the next big question is "WHY?".... why not? there maybe some pressure in society that women in her 30's or 40's should already have a boyfriend or married in that season of their life. I do desire to have my own family, there are perks of being single as well. But something is clear to me, not all, may it be men or women are bound to be married or have a dating relationship. Its not that they like it that way, but there are reason behind it. Im not the choosy type. I prayed for God's guidance, entering and having a relationship with the opposite sex is an important matter, its a wonderful thing, but my relationship with "Him" comes first, that fills me happiness and removes all the pressure, sadness that I encounter in this single life. I dont have to hurry and worry even if i turn 40's. =D instead i choose to be happy in this journey.

In other words, Blind Dates, MU, Declaring Love. Making Sure of Someone's Affection towards you, A Sentimental Keepsake of Love. Happens all around the world. But personally, I've never been on a blind date. I've been setup on blind dates by having the other person present during a party. There were some, that we really hit it off but after the party, we just never got in touch.

Our happiness doesn't depend solely in having a romantic relationship with someone...as for me ,I'm in my happiest when I'm alone🥰...so to each her own...some are in a relationship but miserable so bottom line do whatever make you happy and comfortable and just enjoy life❤
As for me, I still am very confused of what i want l, how to properly handle my self take care and value myself, so it really is hard to get into that territory (relationship) wherein both sides should always be constantly showing affection or basically establish a commitment. And by that i really agree that being desperate in having a partner will only lead to destruction especially to ourselves. Been there, and ive learned the most important thing ive lost since getting into a relationship and that is my love for myself. I did learn that its not only for my best but for hers as well. id say maturity and commitment are really important when getting into a relationship as of now im still working on that. This is so true. I remember the first time I went to korea with girl friends, we were really tired walking so we sat down for a while in cheonggyecheon stream, and we counted like 9 consecutive pairs/couples passing by haha like a queue of couples. We thought haha this is not a place for us :)))))
In the philippines, we call anyone (even if we are not close to them) "kuya" as a form of respect.

My friend have already a family na, and she's telling me that maybe I should have also because I'm left behind, almost half of my batchmate have their own na. . But I don't want pa for now I'm only 28. And I think I have a lot to do and dream I want to achieve and I feel that I'm not ready in that kind of responsibility. Single doesn't mean ur lonely and having a partner doesn't mean ur happy we have our own timeline and yes I'm not desperate to be in relationships at God's perfect time it will come and I know the best things in life comes to those who wait patiently🙂.
Part of it is probably because women have a biological clock for having children. If you’re sure that you don’t want to give birth to children, then it’s totally fine to wait. Otherwise there needs to be focused effort on finding the right person.
There’s always pros and cons to being single and being in a relationship. You learn more about yourself and your values and about other people in both situations, so it’s good to experience both. I didn’t know how terrible I was at communicating my thoughts and feelings until I started dating. Lol I always kept things bottled up until they exploded, but have since learned that constant and healthy communication is vital in any human relationship. But I realized this was because of how I was raised, we never really talked and reflected on personal and family problems that deeply. It was always swept under the rug and we just moved on like it wasn’t that big of a problem when it really was. *shrug*

"Reevaluate your reason for wanting to date someone." Exactly. Sometimes, I think people are just drawn into falling in love with the idea of being in love, and not with the actual person they have commitment with.
Some societies may say otherwise but believe me when I say a person's value isn't defined by their romance status. And imo, I think we need to learn to love ourselves first, so that the love we give out to our special someone or to other people in general won't run out and cause us emotional exhaustion. :}
