It's surprising when you said, Korea as a couple-centric country because I have watched some vloggers (non koreans who happened to have a korean husband/wife) who said that some or most koreans aren't not that interested into dating bcoz of the commitment and it's financially impacting. That's why some or most of them are staying single and just wanted that way. Anyways, it's good that you have said this so that it breaks the stereotypes with comes to knowing someone's culture. It's funny how Filipino parents forbid their teenage children to engage in a relationship. Eventually, they'll start to pressure them on having children. I mean how in the heck are we able to give them grandchildren when we aren't yet interested in being n a relationship? Jessica, thank you for sharing us how dating a Korean is in your country. It's interesting to know & this can be hints for those who want to date & have a Korean boyfriend, he..he..he... Yes, it's true that having a love relationship is not the only way to have a happy life & family. If a person is not ready to be in a relationship, don't force yourself just because your parents, friends are pushing you to have one coz you're getting old, what ever. One has to be ready, matured & ready to be responsible for their future as husband & wife to get involve in love relationship, dating & getting married.Even here in Philippines many do ask if one have a boyfriend or girlfriend & why still not married since already getting older or they say, you will soon be out of the calendar coz there's only till number 31 in the calendar. Some olds even say it's a very romantic feeling if you have a bf or gf, that... there's no one to look after you if you stay single, without a partner or child/ children when you get old. These words could be fearful to others so they try to get involve in having a relationship . For some the result could be successful but for those who failed could coz them problems, could be a burden for them. Love can wait until a person is ready to face it & be involved for the rest of her/ his life as a married person.
As I keep getting older and more mature (charot), I realize that being in a relationship is a choice, and not being in a relationship is also a choice (but I didn’t choose this jk). I had an epiphany after going through a lot of failed relationship, you can go on with life without a love life and you can still be alive. It is not a necessity, that you need to have just to conform with the society. Love will come in an unexpected way, so while love isn’t around your corners yet, go have fun by yourself and do all the things you always wanted to do. So when love comes around, you already know how to live and love on your own, and when that love goes it won’t be that hard to deal with. I enjoy watching your contents.
Don't push yourself into a relationship just because you felt pressured trying to fit in the so called 'norm'. Don't rush guys, trust the process. For now, sanaol will do. Just my two cents.

"Reevaluate your reason for wanting to date someone." Exactly. Sometimes, I think people are just drawn into falling in love with the idea of being in love, and not with the actual person they have commitment with. Some societies may say otherwise but believe me when I say a person's value isn't defined by their romance status. And imo, I think we need to learn to love ourselves first, so that the love we give out to our special someone or to other people in general won't run out and cause us emotional exhaustion. :} Here's to the love we all deserve- self-love! 🥰
My personal view on the matter. as a single woman myself in her 30's there is this question or comment that I usually hear with my relatives, classmates, acquaintances, etc. "Are you married? Do you have a boyfriend? I said "No I'm not married" No, I dont have a boyfriend right now" (i do have a BF before) the next big question is "WHY?".... why not? there maybe some pressure in society that women in her 30's or 40's should already have a boyfriend or married in that season of their life. I do desire to have my own family, there are perks of being single as well. But something is clear to me, not all, may it be men or women are bound to be married or have a dating relationship. Its not that they like it that way, but there are reason behind it. Im not the choosy type. I prayed for God's guidance, entering and having a relationship with the opposite sex is an important matter, its a wonderful thing, but my relationship with "Him" comes first, that fills me happiness and removes all the pressure, sadness that I encounter in this single life. I dont have to hurry and worry even if i turn 40's. =D instead i choose to be happy in this journey.
you’re so inspiring. i always feel insecure about being single but seeing such a gorgeous person like you reassuring im not missing out on life really made my day. thank you
For me, I'm happy bcs I'm single bcs I can focus/ give more time to my family❤ And for me not bcs you're single it doesn't mean you'll feel loneliness/ sadness, that's why you have friends/family they can comfort you and make you happy!😉
When im so focused with jessica's english fluency then suddenly a clip of IU's shade of the heart cameo popped up.. 😍 Im really so convinced jessica and sylvia are uaenas.. Hekhekhek
Am baaaccckkk..anyhoo..i totally agree on what u said here 9:53 but on d other hand how else can they know u if they dnt ask u out or get ur numbr?! Hmmmm..am getting that u'd rather date sum1 who is a friend 1st?! In that way d person knows u too well and not just for ur looks. 😊
Our happiness doesn't depend solely in having a romantic relationship with someone...as for me ,I'm in my happiest when I'm alone🥰...so to each her own...some are in a relationship but miserable so bottom line do whatever make you happy and comfortable and just enjoy life❤
I'm from Texas and make my living as a technical analyst in the stock market. This has allowed me to live in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru since 2011 but I am seriously debating to leave for Vietnam of Korea to find a wife. You are so incredibly gorgeous I am leaning toward Korea not only because there might be other Korean women as beautiful as you but also because there is an On The Border Mexican restaurant and me being from Texas which borders Mexico, that is my go to type of food! Love On The Border salsa with ranch dressing on the side to combine the 2 flavors!
It's not good to enter a relationship just for the sake of being into a relationship. It's like making being in a relationship just a lifestyle or just a trend that you have to take part also to fit in.
It’s not about nationality I’m dating korean and I’m arab Syrian Jordanian but the thing is when u like someone u like his personality his vibe the way he thinks not based on his or her nationality and honestly it’s really challenging to have a bf or gf coming from a very different background and culture but the beauty of this relationship could be learning new things and have such an experience and trying to understand each other more so I think it’s all about the person not nationality also please people understand that Korean are not like k-drama they are so much like other guys in the world so don’t have this fantasy dreams guys 🙈🙈
Haven't watched one of your videos in awhile. This video was so mature. I found it fascinating. I have several Korean friends and as a kid did taekwondo. So I was always learning a bit about Korean culture. This was facinating! Also... I get hooked on korean shows! My favorite so far because I'm in tech was Start-up!
I love this vídeo. From the beggining to the end. I like to learn about different cultures, differents points of views. I'm a brazilian women who lives in Portugal, wich is quite differents, culture way. But i also went as intership to USA and Canadá, and it was such a great experience. I really Love to know the new.
I am going through the phase of first unrequited love and last line really helped me that its a big part of life but it doesn't have to all your life there are other important aspects as well
Great points. Its very easy to go into a relationship but whats important is to love yourself first so u can share the love. You should also be Ready for a commitment . Assess what really do you want and how far you will go. Correct me if Im wrong but I feel like in Korea dating is a serious thing as most are in the right age to get married. Unlike in PI a lot are not really serious about marriage they just stay as partners and have kids :-)
I super agree with you, Jessica. I found being single so at peace, yes maybe I'm alone but I'm not lonely coz I have a support from my family and so much love from my friends. Love will come at the right time, people don't need to rush things.
I agree with you Jessica, being single doesn't necessarily mean being lonely. Someone will come in our life. There's always a perfect time in our life for a certain happening like having a relationship partner. We just to be thankful and appreciate what we have for now and enjoy our life :)
Every person is entitled to his /her own idea what happiness is. Being in a relationship does not guarantee happiness. Essentially, being happy is a matter of choice.
This is so true. I remember the first time I went to korea with girl friends, we were really tired walking so we sat down for a while in cheonggyecheon stream, and we counted like 9 consecutive pairs/couples passing by haha like a queue of couples. We thought haha this is not a place for us :)))))
10:05 Imagine how much of an entitled dude someone is to do that and not get the signal, the 'I already have a boyfriend' line is such a cliche way to politely reject advances. I'd would say its almost universal.
is "a day in my life" vlog not the same as Jessica's "Life in Korea" vlog which have a lot of videos? But agree always nice to see a new video about a person lifestyle.
My friend have already a family na, and she's telling me that maybe I should have also because I'm left behind, almost half of my batchmate have their own na. . But I don't want pa for now I'm only 28. And I think I have a lot to do and dream I want to achieve and I feel that I'm not ready in that kind of responsibility. Single doesn't mean ur lonely and having a partner doesn't mean ur happy we have our own timeline and yes I'm not desperate to be in relationships at God's perfect time it will come and I know the best things in life comes to those who wait patiently🙂.
Part of it is probably because women have a biological clock for having children. If you’re sure that you don’t want to give birth to children, then it’s totally fine to wait. Otherwise there needs to be focused effort on finding the right person. There’s always pros and cons to being single and being in a relationship. You learn more about yourself and your values and about other people in both situations, so it’s good to experience both. I didn’t know how terrible I was at communicating my thoughts and feelings until I started dating. Lol I always kept things bottled up until they exploded, but have since learned that constant and healthy communication is vital in any human relationship. But I realized this was because of how I was raised, we never really talked and reflected on personal and family problems that deeply. It was always swept under the rug and we just moved on like it wasn’t that big of a problem when it really was. *shrug*
I totally agree. We need to check our hearts always and ask ourselves why are we so desperate on finding someone to love us and have a life like other couples had. Examine what influence you to do so and figure out if it's right or wrong then you can decide. Thank you for this Jessica. Take care always . 다음에 뵙겠습니다.
Some of the Filipinos especially who's into kdrama always think that the 오빠/oppa always mean in a romantic way but for me who became more open about some of the culture of Korea since I Started to learn hangul, I find it wrong tho I understand why they think it is that way. I tried once to greet my kuya on fb because it's his bday and I said "happy birthday oppa!" (I wrote in romanized for them to read) and then many people find it funny while I mean is just calling him as my brother in the first place
Im honestly dating a korean guy, it's very different from what you are imagining at kdramas. Yes, some korean guy are naturally sweet like my bf, but he's not like the typical filipino bf na monthly iggreet ka kapag monthsary nyo. Yung bf ko kahit nung 100days namin binati ko ng happy 100days, ang sagot lang sakin "thank you. It's you only 🥰"
there's a lot of korean high teen dramas that centers in a love stories (which I am a fan of) and I noticed that having a first kiss is a big deal to an 18y/old girls and boys😂 I mean, they pity someone and ask why they didn't have their first kiss😂 is it just normal in Korea to kiss a guy/girl when u are still a teenager?
I'm already contented and happy with my dog hahahah and like what she said we don't really need to be in a relationship just to be happy because there's a lot of things that can make us happy even without that.
I agree, you can't hurry love, most people are broken because they think having a partner is everything. There is so much more to life than just being in a relationship. Be in a relationship if you are ready and not just because you are lonely. Also, date to marry and not just to have sex.
not gonna lie, when watching that oppa montage at the start, I was lowkey expecting to see Jisung's iconic "oppa" from Kill Me, Heal Me with Park Seojoon lol
I actually used to believe that I really need a special someone in my life, but after dating and giving my everything to him and got broken, I slowly moved on and realized I could actually live without a boyfriend hahaha And I'm actually happy being single, no arguments, peaceful life hahaha Being single is the new trend✔
I love your life learning ate jessica when I was on highschool I was hurt of my ph crush getting phobia so I was obsess to find international boyfriend because my thought " if I find that person maybe he can be my friend ,someone that always be there for me or understand my feelings that time online dating was pretty popular then kpop was also exist in philippines ..I find korean guy for my experience they are totally quite and if you don't ask question they can't talk it feels like his waiting for you to ask question and I was just lost questions or words on him I think they are not expressive person the way we live but they are nice person to talk with they are approachable sometimes they have sexual intentions be careful young kids to send private things especially online dating sites ...I decided I was not ready to date someone getting apart :)))
I am so amaze of your thoughts about being happy n single. And yes sometimes it is annoying all the questions of why don't you have boyfriend. Its almost the same of the culture in Philippines...
I learned a lot here .. knowing the nunna eonni and oppa .. for my opinion being in a relationship is not my things as for now ... Coz In the reality many people depends in appearance to people , to make them attract and ask them for a date ... And their background is a big thing if they graduated and have a good job as for now.. but my type girl is even she's not be beautiful, cute, educated or rich but my type of girl is simple (she's true to being what attitude she are, humble and have a kind heart to help others seeking help ) that's my type .😅 I'm sorry I can't get the deeper address or topic .... Coz totally I'm a fillipino.😁 But for me I haven't stand a chance to have a girlfriend in a future .. coz I'm a totally shy person as for now... 😅

I was told that 100 days thing is more likely for teenagers or childish young adults. Is it still a thing for couples whose ages are in their late 20s or 30s?
Oh like in the drama yumi’s cells, the character of minho first asked yumi on what’s her ideal type before he mentioned the blind date thing for his friend
I googled only because I share some feelings with this guy and I hoped I will get some tips how to make him happy according to his society norms and maybe expectations. I'm glad I learned the couple items thing and the counting days~
Agree. You don’t necessarily have to be in a relationship to be happy. I have been single all my life and I don’t feel I missed out much. Don’t feel the need to force yourself into a relationship just because. Do it for the right reasons
You are not wrong. There is a certain element of loneliness, but you can fill this with friends, family, and hobbies. So many people are lonelier being IN relationships. It is very peaceful being single and so great having total control of where and when I go and what I eat and when I go to sleep…you get the idea 😂
actually I forgot this "I should have a boyfriend/girlfriend" thingy. not that no one is interested on me because I'm happy with my hobbies. like cleaning my aquarium and adding more, weekend biking, etc. this little things that will relieve your stress and make you forget all those things.
Meanwhile here in the Philippines: Filipino parents will always say "'Wag ka munang mag-jowa, mag-aral ka muna." (Don't go to a relationship yet, study first.). But yeah, some minors nowadays, ages 15-17 are already in a relationship. Sana all. 😂
I infinite percent agree with your last sentence. I kinda feel sad and awful that society puts romantic relationship on a pedestal and thinks of it as be all and end all of everything. Like man there is more to life.
If Jessica would start a quiz after her explaination, I would get zero, as I am not even properly listening to it and just focusing the video of her entire gestures while imitating other girls how they call " Oppa!!" 😂😂 Love her expressions 💓
Our national anthem 🎶🤣 Seems like everybody's falling in love except for me Maybe I'll, maybe I'll find love when I'm 23 They say, "Girl just make up your mind, you're wasting your time waiting for someone who would set you free." Well I'm sorry but I disagree And all the stars and TV shows, I'd like it so wrong to be alone Why is it so hard for them to see? That I'm good by myself But that don't mean that I don't want that someone else To finally fall in love with Cause I'm not lonely but I'll take my one and only if she finds me then I won't say no. I guess nobody finds the wrong way to do it right Maybe I'll, maybe I'll find love in another life Because I'd rather wait a million days than settle for a lie That fake love is a waste of time If fairytales are overrated I don't mean to come up cheated But why can't you see I'm doing fine Cause I'm good by myself But that don't mean that I don't want that someone else To finally fall in love with Cause I'm not lonely but I'll take my one and only if she finds me then I won't say no I won't say no

=D instead i choose to be happy in this journey.
you’re so inspiring. i always feel insecure about being single but seeing such a gorgeous person like you reassuring im not missing out on life really made my day. thank you
"You don't have to be 'desperate' to find love." Very well said 😂👏
For me, I'm happy bcs I'm single bcs I can focus/ give more time to my family❤ And for me not bcs you're single it doesn't mean you'll feel loneliness/ sadness, that's why you have friends/family they can comfort you and make you happy!😉
When im so focused with jessica's english fluency then suddenly a clip of IU's shade of the heart cameo popped up.. 😍
Im really so convinced jessica and sylvia are uaenas.. Hekhekhek
In the philippines, we call anyone (even if we are not close to them) "kuya" as a form of respect.
Jessica deserve so much, no guy can actually deserve to be his bf. Idol level 9999999999
Penoise also use the word "Opa" and it is also an intimate word for Chickens. The word is used by the Bisaya speaking people here in the Philippines.
Very very interesting... I need to watch this a couple more times.
This is so true. I remember the first time I went to korea with girl friends, we were really tired walking so we sat down for a while in cheonggyecheon stream, and we counted like 9 consecutive pairs/couples passing by haha like a queue of couples. We thought haha this is not a place for us :)))))
for me, self-love is the most important in order to be happy! proven and tested....
Very interesting video and makes you think about love in general
10:05 Imagine how much of an entitled dude someone is to do that and not get the signal, the 'I already have a boyfriend' line is such a cliche way to politely reject advances. I'd would say its almost universal.
You should do a "a day in my life" jessicaaaaa, it would be nice ❤️
is "a day in my life" vlog not the same as Jessica's "Life in Korea" vlog which have a lot of videos?
*shrug*
Jessica's laughs in between her explanations and cheesy examples are just too adorable lololol 😂
Being single is not a bad thing.
Jessica discussing a certain topic makes me reminisce my english teacher in high school.
For me Its better in into kpop and Kdrama fan rather than in a relationship💜
Im honestly dating a korean guy, it's very different from what you are imagining at kdramas. Yes, some korean guy are naturally sweet like my bf, but he's not like the typical filipino bf na monthly iggreet ka kapag monthsary nyo. Yung bf ko kahit nung 100days namin binati ko ng happy 100days, ang sagot lang sakin "thank you. It's you only 🥰"
I always love what jessica wants to talk about 😍
there's a lot of korean high teen dramas that centers in a love stories (which I am a fan of) and I noticed that having a first kiss is a big deal to an 18y/old girls and boys😂 I mean, they pity someone and ask why they didn't have their first kiss😂 is it just normal in Korea to kiss a guy/girl when u are still a teenager?
Parang si Jessica talaga ang need kong kausap ngaun heart broken ako... Iba ang mindset.... Lab talaga dis gurl...
I agree with what you said - looks or physical appearance just have a minimal role in relationships
I’m currently learning Korean rn, and Ateh Jessica is being a good tutor/example to me😭❤️
I love your life learning ate jessica when I was on highschool I was hurt of my ph crush getting phobia so I was obsess to find international boyfriend because my thought " if I find that person maybe he can be my friend ,someone that always be there for me or understand my feelings that time online dating was pretty popular then kpop was also exist in philippines ..I find korean guy for my experience they are totally quite and if you don't ask question they can't talk it feels like his waiting for you to ask question and I was just lost questions or words on him I think they are not expressive person the way we live but they are nice person to talk with they are approachable sometimes they have sexual intentions be careful young kids to send private things especially online dating sites ...I decided I was not ready to date someone getting apart :)))
i love the new format and the quality of the vid
I am so amaze of your thoughts about being happy n single. And yes sometimes it is annoying all the questions of why don't you have boyfriend. Its almost the same of the culture in Philippines...
I watched till the end. Good message!
Youre so articulate im so enlighteneddd after years of watching kdramas!! 💜
Great To Know; Love Your Eclectic Approach To Videos ~
Your Presentations Are a Treasure Trove Of Culture ~
Keep Coming With These Kinds Of Videos, Maganda ~
my thoughts?? i kinda like how you speak english coz your so fluent and the dictions, pronunciation and all really amazed me..hehe.. love your videos..
I really love Jessica's mind.
Love that last message at end.. Much love Jess! Ingat! ❤️
i learned a lot when i watch of your video😊😃
this video was recommended to me and I'm so glad I clicked because I really enjoyed it so much. And woow you are the most pretty Korean girl I ever seen!!! And I really like your voice and personality!!
Interesting content..
How about the KPOP artist? Or KPOP idols? most of them I think are not allowed to be in a relationship? At least Publicly?
You can still enjoy life while being single... thanks Jessica! ... nice message.
Kudos to you Jessica for another awesome and educational video! Fighting!
Vlog idea. Can you also do a video teaching Foreigners how to travel to Korea? you can highlight the restrictions due to Covid and what to expect.
always watch your vlog im from philippines😍😍
veryyyyy informational yaaaa, I love how you address things
That video in Sunbae TV was the funniest blind date that I've ever seen.
I'm learning more on this channel
Very well made video! You explained everything smoothly😅
Meanwhile here in the Philippines:
Filipino parents will always say "'Wag ka munang mag-jowa, mag-aral ka muna." (Don't go to a relationship yet, study first.). But yeah, some minors nowadays, ages 15-17 are already in a relationship. Sana all. 😂
Pero maraming nag anak na💓🤗

Please do a video about self care , beauty products ,
Yeah you're right most people want Korean because how they look and how kind they are
How about online dating apps? Is Tinder a thing in Korea?
I infinite percent agree with your last sentence. I kinda feel sad and awful that society puts romantic relationship on a pedestal and thinks of it as be all and end all of everything. Like man there is more to life.
If Jessica would start a quiz after her explaination, I would get zero, as I am not even properly listening to it and just focusing the video of her entire gestures while imitating other girls how they call " Oppa!!" 😂😂
Love her expressions 💓
Quality of video is great! New camera Jessica?
Our national anthem 🎶🤣
Seems like everybody's falling in love except for me Maybe I'll, maybe I'll find love when I'm 23 They say, "Girl just make up your mind, you're wasting your time waiting for someone who would set you free." Well I'm sorry but I disagree And all the stars and TV shows, I'd like it so wrong to be alone Why is it so hard for them to see? That I'm good by myself But that don't mean that I don't want that someone else To finally fall in love with Cause I'm not lonely but I'll take my one and only if she finds me then I won't say no. I guess nobody finds the wrong way to do it right Maybe I'll, maybe I'll find love in another life Because I'd rather wait a million days than settle for a lie That fake love is a waste of time If fairytales are overrated I don't mean to come up cheated But why can't you see I'm doing fine Cause I'm good by myself But that don't mean that I don't want that someone else To finally fall in love with Cause I'm not lonely but I'll take my one and only if she finds me then I won't say no I won't say no
This video is great! I hope you could do more videos like this....
did you do the voiceover for highlands corned beef commercial?
Hi Jessica, would you mind talking about the factors concerning Korea's declining fertility rate. I'm just curious. Thanks 😇
