Im still listening to tapes i made off the radio in 1982...80s pop has a huge following in England !!! Kim Wilde and Belinda Carlisle are still rockin...my favourite chicks !!!
That looked like it would have been fun to attend. I miss that decade so much. I grew up in Santa Cruz in those days, and that was the best. I wouldn't have had it any other way. It's a pity there is no time machine, and I can't just move back there, and stay there.
Ironically best part of the 80’s was no cell phones and everyone there was on their phones lol .they should have had a no phones policy .Great work as always Kurt . Always good videos
Grew up on 91X here in SD, We had Steve West and you had Richard Blade, but similar music, and when I drive thru LA area I always try to tune into 106.7...
I still listen to many of the bands of this era, but typically more from the hard rock, and metal genres. Its hard to believe a lot of these albums are now 40 plus years old.
Richard Blade would DJ at a club called kokomo's in Irvine back in the day. I watched his video show as well on TV and listened to his show on kroq. What a blast of a time that era was. Thanks four all this greatness Kurt!
A few things: MODERN ENGLISH just released a new album; 1234. Burning Sensation, Pole Cats, Josie fucking Cotton? Bitchen! A couple of months ago my niece got to hang out with Josie Cotton. They have mutual friends and Miss Josie went into their work and hung out.
This is the true 1980s nostalgia. I can't stand the modern movies and TV shows that set themselves in the time period for no real reasons, making fun of the period and having inexcusable anachronisms. I started watching "Wonder Woman 1984" and almost turned it off when I saw "Operation: Wolf" in an arcade. (Eventually, I fell asleep and haven't cared to continue it.)
We were at the show! Been following The Reflexx for years, friends with the lead singer Greg. Great show, great night! I wish I knew you were there, I love your videos! Would have loved to get a picture with you!!
My mother said "Don't criticize unless you can do a better job", but I tell you what, that asian woman on stage with Gina made my ears "YIP!!" and run away like a singed puppy.
I love my 80s music pretty much all of it but I have never heard of josie cotton. I went to Spotify to listen to her top played songs and I didn't know any of them. Maybe she wasn't on the radio much in New Jersey.
Hey Mr 80's, do you remember in the 1980s on HBo boxing nights they played a song with lycis like "Winning or losing you're still in the game, give me your blood, sweat and tears."? Do you know who that's by? Big thanks!
Kurt I don't know everybody that you showed on this video. Of course I know Gina Schock from the Go Go's and I knew the guy from When In Rome and I knew Deborah from Romeo Void. I wasn't familiar with the others. Were the other ones more local to LA? Because I am in Georgia and maybe we didn't get exposed to everybody back in the 80s here in the south as yall may have in LA. Thanks for a reply if you are able.
When I saw this I got all excited for a sec. I thought it was the 80’s band the RE-FLEX who sang hits like Politics of Dancing, Hit Line. Disappointed 🙁
The greatest decade hands down
100% buddy
Yes. Was class of 1980
80's are my heart 💜❤️💋

Damnit! I wish I knew this was happening! I would love to have gone. All the songs from my High School days. Thank you for getting this for us.
The best decade for music (maybe the 70’s too). Great video Kurt.
That was awesome!!! I wish I could of gone. I was in my 20’s back in the 80’s and had the time of my life.

How awesome. Makes me wish I still lived in Socal.

Just rewatched for the third time! Kurt you have some seriously cool connections bro!!! Must be cool to know all those people
We were at the show! Been following The Reflexx for years, friends with the lead singer Greg. Great show, great night! I wish I knew you were there, I love your videos! Would have loved to get a picture with you!!
Thx for the video. The people are way past their prime.
I was there on the same wing you were on. Wish I would have seen you!
My mother said "Don't criticize unless you can do a better job", but I tell you what, that asian woman on stage with Gina made my ears "YIP!!" and run away like a singed puppy.
I think Belinda's job is pretty safe.
They were both pretty bad!
@@gc4644 Gina always resented Charlotte because she felt that she, and not Charlotte, should be the lead singer of the Go Go's.
Sounds tight on the Howard Jones preview.
Kurt, please please please, just one time in 2024 at one of these types of events pronounce the full word merchandise? Just for fun mate!
Why? Haha. I've never heard anyone say merchandise when referring to concert shirts.
@@80sLife exactly
All they need twisted sister they were a 80s rock band
I remember you from the 90’s punk scene. Hahah.
Are Van Halen that was another good 80s rock band
I love my 80s music pretty much all of it but I have never heard of josie cotton. I went to Spotify to listen to her top played songs and I didn't know any of them. Maybe she wasn't on the radio much in New Jersey.

Rick Astley and Belinda Carlisle are currently touring the UK together.
Awesome! They both put on a fun show
@@80sLife Strange how Belinda is from Thousand Oaks formed the Go Go's in Hollywood and yet has a bigger following in the UK.
I want a go-go's Frisbee
Right?
Cool show one of there songs used in Napoleon Dynamite movie

6:38 my favorite Polecats song!
who remembers jessabells and joshuas parlor.
Was that Modern English on the first performance?
Yes
KURT, WHAT UP MY GUY?
I think the Go-Go's contest winner might have slipped someone a $20...
C'mon man that was so bad,i'm an 80's fan but wouldn't cross the road to see that.
I'm surprised the woke mob allowed Josie to perform that song.
When I saw this I got all excited for a sec. I thought it was the 80’s band the RE-FLEX who sang hits like Politics of Dancing, Hit Line. Disappointed 🙁
Celebrating music from the 80s? The decade that took the greatest music ever (‘70s) and destroyed it?!!! No thank you.
MEH
those 80s songs sukd just sayn for a friend
I love the 80s. But they all sounded horrible live. 😮
Wow... several of these singers cannot sing. 😭
This is cover band trash. There are thousands of kick ass current bands. I saw three of them last night.
I was suppose to go to this show...tix I got from Vettix!!! DAMN....!
David J just lost 5000 cool points. . . . . I know now why Daniel Ash is doing Tones on Tail @ Cruelworld
