    So much knowledge in one place. However, we need to see a gym tour! Last one is from 2009-I think.

    I have fairly long levers and the high/low bar squats are worlds apart for me. High bar with weightlifting shoes atg, while I low bar with a wide stance and flat shoes, this is significantly stronger for me. Does high bar squatting still have the same degree of benefit for me as someone who simply moves the bar down an inch?

    Is there any 'typical' type of advise you would give for someone with long femors and a short torso? I know it's a general question but there have got to be other guys like me struggling with leverages.

    Any idea why I always get shin splints from high bar squats?

  • @saximus666
    @saximus666 8 років тому +1

    I noticed Max keeps his elbows pointed quite far backwards rather than directly beneath the bar like Chad. I find that position really helps create the "shelf" for the bar to sit on the rear delts but everyone else in the powerlifting world seems to be against it. Any thoughts on whether it's really something to be concerned with if it's not causing someone to tip forward?

    • @JuggernautTrainingSystems
      @JuggernautTrainingSystems  8 років тому +9

      If it's not tipping you forward I wouldn't worry about it. Max has to do that cause he doesn't have traps like Chad.

    One thing I'm just a tad unclear on is, why is it that high bar is better for building strength? Because since low bar you can move more weight on, then the total volume would be higher. So then would that not mean that it'd be better for overload training?
    Or is it just a matter of quality over quantity in this case?

    • @JuggernautTrainingSystems
      @JuggernautTrainingSystems  8 років тому

      +Liftenant Dan I definitely see what you're saying. It is because the high bar squat is going to place the greater load onto the quads and thus make them stronger and they will be the ultimate determining factor on how much someone can squat.

    • @Beamsified
      @Beamsified 8 років тому

      Okay, awesome! That's what I gathered! I just wasnt sure if low bar would still end up putting enough total workload on the quads or not.
      But I totally see and will now make the majority of my training high bar, until i get closer to my meet! Thanks for answering

    what the point of squatting low bar if your are keeping the technique the same? what I mean is how is the slight lean forward making it easier to sqaut more?

    • @JuggernautTrainingSystems
      @JuggernautTrainingSystems  7 років тому +1

      The bar is closer to the hips/center of gravity so the lever arm is shorter. Imagine having a 10# weight at the end of a stick, the longer the stick is, the harder that 10# is to lift, even though the weight is actually the same.

    It drives me crazy when people spend 1/3 to 1/2 of their gym time foam rolling and stretching. Just lift the damn weight. LOL!

    Get him sacked. Head isn't big enough. Prolly only a 6 3/4 guy.
    Hopefully he can pick up some size from CWS by osmosis.
    Byethanksbye.
