There are definitely still some very minor scratches left behind. You could leave a car out in the wind for long enough and it would develop scratches from blowing debris
So jealous. The original owner wore huge rings, left big scratches, then sprayed a light coat of plain white (not color matched) paint over just enough to show through but heavy enough I have to sand under the handle to get them out. There were about 2 dozen auto body sins committed by this man when I picked it up.
Fingernails and toenails are made from skin cells. Structures that are made from skin cells are called skin appendages. Hairs are also skin appendages. The part that we call the nail is technically known as the “nail plate.” The nail plate is mostly made of a hard substance called keratin.
Quick question. Would another off label use be to get over-diluted APC streaks off the paint? It's been a few weeks or so since it happened, but I recently noticed them... Or any suggestions for other products works too!
@@diydetailofficial And if that didn't work 100%, should I let it dwell longer or strengthen the dilution or both? I'm afraid to scratch the paint in scrubbing too hard
@dangnguyen9137 Hi. AIO stands for All In One....or anything that Compounds, polishes and protects in one step, such as Meguiar's #6 which is one of the originals
I'm just about to do a car with what looks like really deep scratches under the handle. I'd be shocked if the ones I'm looking at aren't from rings, but I'm always willing to be proved wrong 🙂
@@maximusterrellius7183 That's obviously not the case with this car. Fingernails are made of keratin which only has a hardness of 2.5 on the Moh's scale. 2K clear coat is hardness 4, so it would actually be extremely difficult to scratch with a fingernail.
Find Tree Sap Remover here: bit.ly/TreeSapRemover
Wow, it looks exactly the same as before x
If you watch at the beginning again you’ll see the dark look of what appears to be scratches. They were definitely there 👍
No, there’s a visual gloss difference.
Black car next time and some light😊👍
Good call
Great tip Yvan 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 learning more about the products
Glad it was helpful!

True

That’s a shame.
Now that is cool! U just sold me on the tree sap!
it's a great and simple method!
Juss bought a glass black new car. Was thinking of getting a protective film for nail scratches. This might save me a small shiny coin. ✨️ thanks!!!
you got it
How does that sap remover do with really baked on for entirely too long sap spots that are thick, rough, and won't scrub away?
It will eventually break them down, but chances are you will be left with etching to polish off.
Good to know. I’m gonna try it
Hope you enjoy!
Couldn't see them to start with.
If watching on a phone they may be difficult to see.
Interesting, are they almost mostly transfers and not scratches? What from the nails transfer to the paint?

Wait, what, no! I have to try that once I get my order that was placed a few days ago, which included the tree sap remover.
Nice!
Lots of them are scratches from rings , I put compound on my finger and work it in , 9/10 it works fine
Many ways to go about it, this just shows a lot of them don’t need polishing 👍
I am going to have to try this in the morning
Go for it
Did it work?
Polish does a better job

Apc will be the best way of removing the dried on APC
@@diydetailofficial Okay, thanks! I'll try All Clean at 30-60 sec dwell time and elbow grease?
Yes

It may be burned into the paint. Next option would be too polish unfortunately.
Use an AIO and you'll leave some protection behind. I was doing this with Meguiar's #6 in the mid 1980s
Good plan
Whats an AIO? Thanks!

@DaddyoftheMack oh duhhhhh. Makes sense!!! Lol thanks! I'll try that brand! Is that meguirs #6 your #1 fave?
@@dangnguyen9137 Meguiar's #6 was my fave in the 80s. Still works well for door cups and other paint transfer areas

Let us know
Tree sap remover good one 😂
Yes, it works great
I use micro polish and microfiber rag
This method is just a way to save a bit of time and money since detailers out there sometimes buy specific polishers and kits for spots like this
I always wondered how a fingernail could scratch clear coat and now I know it doesn't!
im fairly certain they still do

They can, but it’s not as common as many think.
Almost anything you put on the cloth will work…polish, wax, etc.
This is a solution that works, hopefully it can help some folks out there
Sorry nice job
?
I like your work thank you
No, they're scratches
Try this, you may be surprised
Watch this...😂😂
🙏🏻
Polish does a much better job
How so?
