I am completely self-taught in Solidworks, I occasionally get sheet metal projects and so far I have been able to get the bends needed, I need to use equations more, it does save a lot of time down the road if you need to modify a model. Tutorials like this are very helpful, practicing the tests will let you know if you are lacking in any skills.

We find that a lot of people experience a similar situation. It is hard to know exactly how efficient you are without exposure to other users or workflows. Also check out SolidProfessor, they have a really cool Skills Analyzer that you can take to get an idea of what other areas you might be able to grow in. www.solidprofessor.com/

Equations is indeed awesome! but look out for pitfalls inside equations. have a huge issues making assemblies using equation to drive my models. and in the assembly it works fine. moving my now subassembly into the assembly and it will lose reference to abitrary things, reopening the assembly seperatly and it works fine.... or if it lose all reference all i need to do is doubleclicking all the parts with the equations tap open and some how solidworks all of a suddent remember what the reference is for... it's a huge pain... very buggy... sure i can make it in driveworks instead but instead of moving the parts into the size i want you need to make a new model every time you need to change size... (frustrations are real... and you pay an arm and a leg for this....) also back in solidworks 2016 or lower you were able to enable and disable equations for different configurations. you can't any longer... so suppressing parts you control with equations and you will be forced to disable the whole equation manualy or look at a red warning... tried using master sketches aswell to control with equation and some how my models cannot follow a simple line eighter...
so KISS (keep it simple stupid) you will thank me! :D

Thanks for the tutorial ! Specifically for the "bounding box area" tip, the only question I couldn't answer....

@@MLCCADSystems I passed the exam, I succeeded by 100 out of 145, which is the limit ! And about 4 minutes left only, it was very hard, after you answer the first questions which looks like the sample, serious things begin...
