I did this a little different. I used half of the front view and made my base flange. I cut away geometry to get the circular shape, bottom notch. Did a tab and edge flange for the back gapped feature like you did. Then did a mirror. I got the same dimensions in the flattened state as you did, so I figure it was a valid method.
You can mirror the cutout instead of redrawing it on the opposite side if you Unfold all the bends before the mirroring operation. Once the cutout has been mirrored then Fold the part back and then mirror the Tab. It should work that way.
Could you demonstrate how to import a part designed with another CAD, fix it, convert it into sheet metal body and get it's unwrap? I could provide you such example part.
Sir, thank you for your videos. Learning so much from them. I noticed that you used Solidworks 2020 for this video. May I know how to activate the pencil cursor for sketching?
I think the side view of the drawing is of first angle projection whereas top and front views are third angle projection. Please correct me if I am wrong
Olá tudo bem ! Esse exercício é ótimo como todos os seus exercícios . Mas gostaria de saber se vc pode enviar em pdf. Um abraço Mauro Ciscati Brasil São Paulo .
Great video but your detailing has a few errors (One example of this: the overall length of a bent part should be in brackets () {indicating that the length of the bent part is not the absolute length but only a reference}). In-fact, all bent dimensions should be in brackets (). Also, you indicated the material thickness in all 3 bends in a single view when you could have just indicated this in the over-all dimensions (only once: as this dimension would only need to be mentioned once to show the material that would need to be ordered)
Honestly, do you think that would keep me from hiring you? If you were to demonstrate ability up to the point where all I had as criticism was brackets vs no brackets, I'm pretty sure you'd be hired. There is a difference between innate talent vs trained talent. Your critique is misguided, in my opinion.
