As a Colombian living in the birthplace of the Bandeja (NOT the national dish, but Antioquia's regional staple), that must've been the saddest Bandeja Paisa I have ever seen, especially the beans. They should be creamy, and served on the side of the same platter as the rest (hence bandeja, meaning platter or tray), so you can easily mix it with the rice and ground beef, otherwise the beef is too dry on its own.
@@jeanettedania5240 It's ground beef, but the preparation is a bit different. We tend to use more fibrous cuts that are also good for stuff like stews for it, It gets boiled first, left to cool off and dry, and then ground up, usually with some onion, green onion, garlic... It's pretty different from how most other places do ground beef, I think, and can be pretty dry unless mixed with stuff. It's delicious, though, especially mixed in with potatoes or rice.
Lol I'm guessing they are sourcing this food from a Colombian restaurant on the west coast but there are not big Colombian communities out there. That would explain why some of the dishes aren't up to snuff.
I am from Central America and I love Colombian food. I like their approach to chicharrones. Their empanadas are also delicious. I can’t believe you guys didn’t have the Mexican moms try the sancocho de res. Mexicans appreciate a good caldo and the Colombians have one of the best ones in all of Latin America. I think they would’ve loved it.

Yes! Ajiaco has a lot of potatoes 'cause it's a traditional dish from the colombian Andes mountains (the central part of the country) where is really cold all the time. In this area (mainly in what we call the "altiplano cundiboyacense"), potatoes are grown since they're originally from Perú and spreaded through the Andes (which crosses all of South America, from Colombia to Argentina) . Ajiaco is meant to provide people from this region of Colombia with a warm and filling meal, that gives a lot of energy due to the carbs from the potatoes. It is delicious and a very heartwarming soup. My favorite food in the whole world 🤤💖

That’s Ecuadorian. It’s only made for Easter. It’s definitely for an acquired palate since it’s very heavy and laborious to make preparing 12 different grains, salted fish, dumplings, plantains and all the fixings. Glad you like it, I actually hate 😂

As someone who visited Colombia twice, Medellin and Bogota, I will say the country’s food is flavorful. My fave soup in Medellin was Mondongo. In Bogota I went crazy for the street food and ate Caldo De Res every day. Colombian food is amazing!
Some of the colombian items are similar to some mexican items is because of the spanish influence on both as is the case in the caldo as well as food migrating from one place to another as is the ceviche (South America -> México)
Thank u for eating our dishes, I'm very proud of my people.

Another fun episode with mamas! My only suggestion is for whomever is asking the questions or talking to the mamas maybe use a microphone as well? Many of the things said are subtitled so it's usually not a big deal, but the off camera person's voice is often very low for me. Looking forward to more of the mamas and episodes!
100% they should try pastel de choclo, empanada de pino (and empanada de queso camarón!), bistec a lo pobre, charquican, porotos granados, a chacarero, a completo, an humita, sopaipillas (plain and pasada), mote con huesillo, and chilenitos!
Whenever anyone's trying an international dish is always going to be criticisms from people from that country because it's not the way that they remember it. But these women were given the general idea of Colombian dishes and overall they like them very much so congratulations.

Some of the colombian items are similar to some mexican items is because of the spanish influence on both as is the case in the caldo as well as food migrating from one place to another as is the ceviche (South America -> México)
02:00 this is the saddest Bandeja Paisa i've ever seen.
Thank u for eating our dishes, I'm very proud of my people.
Colombian food is so underrated!

Its been years since i remembered the arroz rojo con frijoles... and my grandma used to made it like that when i was a kid... just had a memory unlocked and that deserves a lika and suscribe
I love this how about Dominican Republic next !!!!! I would love that video definitely have some dishes i recommend
DAMN LULU!! LOOKIN GOOD GIRL!! 😎😎

Yall should do Haitian food next!!😩
🤮🤮🤮
Another fun episode with mamas! My only suggestion is for whomever is asking the questions or talking to the mamas maybe use a microphone as well? Many of the things said are subtitled so it's usually not a big deal, but the off camera person's voice is often very low for me. Looking forward to more of the mamas and episodes!
Try nicaraguan food next 😋
I have a Colombian girlfriend. Best woman I've ever met. Cooking, not so much...
I've tried both, and Colombia 🇨🇴 food is way more healthy and lot more variety.
Can y’all try Chilean food 🇨🇱🇨🇱 and not just the candy lol there’s a restaurant near where u guys shoot!
Alright. It’s time for them to try some soul food!💯
I was in Colombia a week ago and I love the Bandeja Paisa. 😋
