Hello! Here is the Discord link: discord.gg/JBQwwMj Just remember the rules in the video and to follow the pinned post instructions. You have 72 hours from NOW! Good luck & have fun! :)
I know technically he didnt say the rules said you had to follow the diagram but the first clip was the only real 'challenge worthy' one of the lot. A long 4km glide into a target is pretty pointless tbh...
The Stuka squadrons in the Dunkirk event all climbed to that altitude and proceeded to get loads of hits on enemy ships. It’s really effective because you have lots of time to line up on target and enough speed to get out unharmed
AFAIK it was to avoid being killed by the enemy aircraft. Don´t ask me for details how it works, because I already forgot, but it is out somewhere on the internet. I think it is about speed + conservation of energy
@@rambo_lambo_bear6855 As I say, I dont know the details, but there were surely reasons. I found this "But the Ju 87 also was slow (which is why its sirens largely had been removed by the Battle of Britain); indeed, with a top speed of about 230 mph (and a cruising speed of 160 mph), it was the slowest operational aircraft in the Battle. With only two machine guns of its own in front and a single gun facing aft, the plane was vulnerable when confronted by the eight guns of a Spitfire or Hurricane, especially given its slow rate of climb or pulling out of a dive, when it was subject to ground fire as well. Not only was the Stuka unable to adequately protect itself, but it could not be easily defended by anyone else. The Bf 109 that escorted the plane was more than 150 mph faster than its lumbering charge and at its best above 20,000 feet. Indeed, to conserve fuel, the fighters had to wait until the planes were half-way across the Channel before taking off and even then were obliged to fly in a zig-zag pattern to stay with them. Too, because the Stukas began their steep dive from 13,000 feet and released their bombs at about 1,200 feet, the fighters had to fly at a much lower altitude, depriving them of their greatest advantages-speed and height."
@@wimpow The reason you do it that high up and pull up high up is because real life is not a video game where you can play again. We do extraordinarily stupid stuff in games because we don't even experience pain, let alone death! When you are messing about that low, even regular infantry is a threat to you! Why would you be that stupid and risk it? Plus whatever AAA defence they may have only gets more effective the closer you get. So the best strategy is to do it from as far out as possible. In real life you'd not be lone-wolfing either! You'd show up with your squadron and pick a target/targets and do it as a team effort and leave ASAP.
@@dhakagod That is true. I think it was a video of the Chieftain, where he compares the sense of security when you are in a tank to the sense of "everything can kill me" when you are in a plane (he explains it very detailed and not the two words that I write here).
When you said "it's like ants" at around 12mins into the vid, it was RIGHT when I was thinking "They look like ants down there on the roadway South of the cap!" Awesome :D
Yes they dived from 4000m but not always it depends the situation the pilot is in. Surprise attacks come from 4000m but rushed attacks are usually below 4000 m or above
Holy crap, what are the odds of you bombing a ground target and destroying an aircraft? I literally dropped my drink watching that part of your video. Keep up the good work mate, and I sincerely hope you get all the hardware and technical info to build your computer.
Surely you just won the challenge with your first attempt, that was incredible! If you'd managed to get the intended target as well I think we'd all have to give you the GE...
I suggest following the beach side of the jungle map everything goes to that hill there’s actually a bit less water to go through, and plenty of rocks for cover
Dive bombing is tough enough not to compress and die from 5000 feet. But 13200 feet? By the time you get up there, the war is over and the next one has begun. But killing that I-15 deserves a medal. That was brilliant.
I'll pass on the challenge for this one. I don't have the time anymore to spend on just climbing to altitude in a Stuka. That poor I-16 never knew what hit him...that was just crazy. Just flying along and then Great content Odd! Thanks.
It has been written that the stuka pilots would release the bomb at 1000m from ground, then pull out of dive as this gave them enough room as not to smack Into the ground. As for engine power maybe best at cruise speed, 80%
Thankfully I'm spared... Can't fly for toffee and don't have that plane... saves me pancaking repeatedly for the next 72 hrs...! Thanks odd for the bonkers challenge - look forward to seeing everyone else's efforts
Hahahahhahaha that first kill though. But in all honesty, i reckon Odds and the challengers should flow the guide to the letter. 4000m then fly inverted and then loop down to drop the bomb on the target
How about doing this for the American SBD Dauntless? The approach was slightly higher at 5500 meters, but with the better dive brakes and the telescopic site of the SBD, better accuracy could be had. Standard practice was to approach the target from behind at 5500 meters, cut the throttle back to idle and pitch into a 70 degree dive, where you'd deploy the dive brakes to stabilize the airframe before releasing between 300-600 meters above ground level and pulling out.
That Chaika in the first bombing attempt has to be the unluckiest player in WT. Either that or Odd is one of the luckiest. To be safe, you should go buy a lottery ticket Odd.
4:45 , u can google “best optimal climb rate for german props” and click the steam community link, i think it shows every german fighter best climb speed
Absolut Awesome vid 😃 Thats what you call a real Challenge 😊 Love the stuka.. And that sound, wow gives me goosebumbs every time 😍 Thanks oddbawz 👍 Keep up the good work and cool vids ❤️
i got 16% PL a few days ago, it was unplayable, but it was funny seeing flying tanks and suddenly turning around and all that stuff, i somehow got one or two kills too
Good for everyone that can still play, a few days after playing new power, my game started to crash and said my driver was outdated, cant do anything about that even if i can still play the game perfectly, guess il just have to wait till my dad gets a new videocard for his computer instead of trying to fix war thunder on my laptop
I was in this game. When i /w you and asked wtf are you doing? You replied back you were role playing and so simply following correct luftwaffe doctrine :)
If I were that first plane, I would have just left the game and found something else to do. As video games go, I think that's as close to "Act of God" as you can get.
I am excited to do this challenge Odd, should I post my challenge submission onto my channel. Odd I also just want to say you've inspired me to get back into content creation for this game again. Love you videos keep up the great work.

Once I managed to kill 2 planes with the Ju-87 that has 1000kg bombs :D Was going for enemy tanks and two enemy fighters were behind me. They shot off my wing so I just dropped my bomb. It landed on top of a high rock and the planes that were after me flew past it. The bomb went off and both planes got destroyed :D
Its hard because tanks didnt fight in areas like that, but in fields. They were lined up in a way that they are easy to destory even if yo mess up. Sadly there are no sich maps for long range battles.

Ok, that 500kg dunking on a I-15 from 4000m was the sickest kill I´ve ever seen. Share it in Thunder Show!
here s tip when doing that dive bomb right as your dropping swing the sight up that way it will hit actually on target
The D3A1 Japanese Stuka deserves some love too. It's got some interesting zoom for the sight in cockpit view.
you looking for chopper but found gold
Im gonna try this in a swordfish.... call me a teaboo
I-15: minding it's own business
Stuka from 4K metres: why hello there
"General Keno-" wait wrong movie...

@@Viper-dn8ix nah you’re good
isn't that an I-153
Lmao that first attempt that killed the Chaika is more worth 5k eagles for thundershow HAHAHA
Indeed
I almost died of to much laughing at that kill
so true man! so true!
Specifically because you had your dive brakes extended for both kills. Both!
Yeah OddBawZ, submit to thunder show
"You need to kill a tank"
* kills a plane *
Oddbaw: "DOES IT COUNT??"
U should do more challenges, maybe like fastest time to get an ace or double ace (from first kill to last)
Step 1: use ush405
Step 2: win
*PT76-57 submission spam intensifies*
Hey odd I was the tank you saved in the beginning that was a great game hope your having a good day!
"Wait! You were suppose to go after the Tank Destroyer, not the plane!" is want was running through my head during that scene.
That last one was more of a shallow dive though, you're supposed to fly over the target, invert and dive as per the diagram.
I know technically he didnt say the rules said you had to follow the diagram but the first clip was the only real 'challenge worthy' one of the lot. A long 4km glide into a target is pretty pointless tbh...
@@burntjoint Massively different physics involved. He's supposed to follow the historical Stuka instructions. They did invert.
Odd overachieving much? Bombs an aircraft in 1st person while doing a dive from 4000m.
OddBawZ OP, Gaijin pls nerf
In the Ju87 a 4000m dive is the exact same as an 800m dive, just wait until you're at around 500m then drop bombs and pull up
Meh when ever i do a dive bombing i go into first person, dats not incredible... or maybe for you bcos my aiming is better in first person
that poor little biplane was just bumbling along 😭

That plane kill counts as a double kill in my books
To be honest, I think this could be much cooler in naval, but fun challenge anyways, I’ll give it a try
Set the engine to manual, then WEP all you want without overheating. Remember to set it back to auto once its fihting time.
