    It's so crazy how that passing chord works and sounds good dending if. Not mistaken in terms of voice leading it's best to descend with dim passing chords to land on the chord a semitone thats next to it. Great job Mr sven

    That was great Sven thanks, you're always so straight up and bang on.
    Your vids are punctuated by adverts for some guitar tutorial outfit who badmouth the YTube guitar video tutorials such as yours. What is hilarious is that the people doing the 'teaching' are the most desperate looking bunch of arrogant creeps. Kind of hard to imagine anybody giving them money.

      Fortunately most of these guys try to teach the mainstream pop/rock/blues stuff. 😅 I agree, that's it is stupid, down voting other people in order to present yourself!
      Warm regards, Sven

    do you have some advice on how to make my hand be able to do those chords without breaking my fingers or getting tendinitis? I really enjoy these gypsy songs, but I don't wanna destroy my hand either. Also, I have skinny fingers, so I really struggle to get down those two notes one finger chords. Note that I am not a professional jazz guitarist, but somewhere over an intermediate player

      Just practice everyday for at least 5mins with the chords fingering and of course practicing the changes as well I promise you with 100% certainty thatcif you follow my advice u will be on your way

    • @edepow
      @edepow 8 років тому

      Sven, I don't have any suggestions for songs but it might be useful to the viewer if you also put a chord chart in the 'description' setting of the video. Maybe just showing 'A-B-C' parts such as:
      A: 'X-X-X-X'
      B: 'X-X-X-X'
      A:'X-X-X-X'
      A: 'X-X-X-X'
      etc. It'd be nice to have a chart table for reference so that we can try to piece it together, following your lead but looking at the charts. Thanks and keep it up!

      @@SvenJungbeck Sven here's a trick which will have all the others imitating you. When you demonstrate the finger shapes just edit the vid to invert the image. The result is great and gives us the pov of you. Also then i don't have to turn my screen upside down and lose all the water that's in it.
      ps. you know what we find hardest to play apart from django's triplet runs? Montaigne st Genevieve. Been practicing it 9 yrs and it still ain't right .. joder!!

    Thank you for the helpful lesson. But giving tab for the chords will be a lot more easier to follow.

    • @epsdudez
      @epsdudez 6 років тому +5

      Relying on tabs is lazy and does not help you become a better guitarist. Use your ears and eyes as much as possible if you want to be a better musician.

    gypsy chords and la pompe are so difficult to play on a standard acoustic guitar. so frustrating

  • @alemanalonso

    Very fast for the lead player to insert the melody there

    • @SvenJungbeck
      @SvenJungbeck  7 років тому +2

      pretty normal i guess. this tempo is called medium up. something about 200 - 240 bpm. it's not so difficult to play the melody at this tempo ( depends on your level but I mean for the average gypsy jazz guitarist) triplets would be fast in 220 but eight notes should be possible ;) check out the version of Adrian moingnard and Gonzalo Bergara it's almost the same tempo. Greetings from Cologne
