The roundtable is perhaps just a part of the erdtree manifesting into something that will help the tarnished and so when the erdtree burns it burns with it, then perhaps Hewg is nothing more than a remembrance hewn into the erdtree to help us. It’s likely he can never leave and why his memory seems to fade and burn away just like the roundtable
it is another realm created by marika. it's also marika who put hewg there so that one day there will be a tarnished that will free them from the greater will. the og roundtable is in lyndell just before you go up the roots towards the erdtree sanctuary grace and is just below lyndell's mausoleum.
“I’ve gone soft, and it ain’t easy.”
"..Have i forgotten something of.. dire.. importance..?"
That line gave me legit chills.
My favorite headcanon is that Master Hewg and Roderika survived the burning of the Erdtree. Not becuase it's interesting, because its the only way I can cope with Hewg's descent into madness.
I just beat Elden Ring, and before the end I felt the saddest a game has ever made me when talking to Hewg for one last time.
Did you ever hear the tragedy of master Hewg the wise?
It is said that when the critics reviewing Elden Ring came back to see Hewg’s end, they were so overwhelmed with grief that they gave it Game of the Year
It's okay bro, your weapon did slay a god, even a second one.
This hit me in the feels way too hard
