  • Three American Christians, including Apollo 15 astronaut Colonel James Irwin, undertook dangerous expeditions to Mount Ararat, driven by a belief that finding Noah's Ark would prove biblical events true. Irwin's moon mission profoundly impacted his faith, leading him to dedicate his life to promoting the Bible and embarking on a quest to find the Ark, although his expeditions ultimately yielded no tangible evidence.

Hi, the Bible says *_on the mountains of Ararat_* in plural, this doesn't mean that it landed for sure on this mountain, *_Mount Ararat,_* the fact is that many geologists agree that this mountain was apparently never under water, but, there's still a possibility of *_Noah's Ark_* has landed in a different place, *_Iran._* Many people might think that the *_boundaries of Urartu (Ararat),_* the region where the Bible says *_Noah's Ark_* landed, it just reached *_Mount Ararat, Mount Judi, and the mountains in Eastern Turkey and Armenia,_* but, that's not true, there were times when *_Urartu_* expanded due to the conquests of its rulers, so, there's a few ignored places where *_Noah's Ark_* might have landed.

The thing is, Noah and his people lived before the Iron Age. The professor even mentioned in the video. The arc was made of wood, and we don't know what kind of woods they used to built it. The great flood happened more than 4,300 years ago according to biblical dates and bible scholars. Do you think the woods would last that long 4 millennia? This means that the arc decayed already and vanished into oblivion with no traces on it. The arc was not made of concrete, granite, marble, and other stones like the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt which lasted forever. But Noah's Ark was made of wood, it is gone already, disappeared. How could you find that boat made of wood that decomposed and decayed already unless those people preserved it like the mummification thing?
Well, many of us are still hoping and "wishing" that Noah's Ark could be found in its resting place.

Anyway, sin is a global humanist characteristic that WE ALL share, I'm not saying that only atheists are sinners, we all are. Sin is the wrongful act against moral and divine law, the Old Testament of scripture gives the foundation of what this means to sin against God, but ultimately, we all sin, we all disobey God, sin is a common trait we all share, its only natural to rebel. However, not believing in God, Jesus, and the Gospel, is what puts people at risk for eternal separation from God. Sin is doing what you know is wrong, but you do it willingly. The answer to the question within the title of this documentary is... it depends. It depends on if you mean "do they CURRENTLY have proof, the answer IS no. But, the question remains - "IS there scientific proof of the ark?", there MIGHT be proof out there somewhere but we just haven't found it YET. Conversely, there might NOT be any proof out there because there is no ark there, or there is no ark anywhere because it's been destroyed, or it just never existed. It's not just a simple question. The different possible meanings in the question must be defined.

The only evidence we have is that the story of Noah was most likely plagiarized from ancient Sumeria and the Epic of Gilgamesh where the story is sometning like 85% identical even though Gilgamesh's epic is 3 thousand years older. We can find stories of localized flooding in every culture. Apologists scream, "See, I told you so," but not so fast. You missed the part about "localized" flooding. There has never been a shred of evidence for a global flood. We still see localized flooding even today that kills thousands. It's a powerful force and easy to see why it has been immortalized in literature. Also, why it was attributed to Gods being upset.
If you believe this story is true without my having to mention a 600 year old man or lions, tigers, and bears walking peacfully onto a boat beside prey. Or that wooden boat surviving a major storm for 40 days on an open ocean. The dimensions of the Ark are a geometrical figure onto which other numbers in the story can be placed to create a map of a voyage ... from Heliopolis to Patmos. This probably relates to a movement of people from Egypt to Greece during the chaos at the end of the Egyptian Old Kingdom (c. 2150 BC). Ararat can be seen as the farthest movement of these people following a sea route. From there they could have traveled across to Northern Mesopotamia ... then, as Abraham, back to Egypt. I'm no explorer by any stretch and my simple faith tells me it is there. That's enough for me. I'm not certain why some of these Christians can't let it go at that and just have faith that it is there. Maybe they just like exploring is my only guess.

If there is such a thing as the ark, it will never be found. If you find it that proves God exists, and removes the need for faith which is the central tenet of the Abrahamic religions.
