VW Front disc brakes: part 1 - can of worms!

A simple maintenance job becomes a can of worms when I go to replace the brake pads on the 1976 crew cab.
In this video I assess the front brakes on a VW bay window van. While the van doesn't have any braking issues, the brakes haven't been looked at in over 8 years so it's time for some maintenance.

It really is a nightmare trying to find trustworthy tradesmen (in general, not even just with cars). You're right in what you're saying. If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing yourself.

Definitely! Got some parts on the way to tackle the rest of the job, its also interesting to look into the different types of calipers used on bays, VW went through a few of them!
