I have been Cancer Survivor for a little over 20 years now but have still struggled with discouraging chronic muscle and joint pain as a result of my years of treatment. I didn’t know how I could function with my pain- then I found your videos. I didn’t realize how much simple yet mindful movements could improve my body’s overall function- but they did! I have been following your guided exercises daily for little less than a year now and my flexibility has improved and so has my confidence! Thank you sir for sharing your knowledge and expertise, it’s greatly appreciated.
yes! the effectiveness of movement practice is not related to complexity of movement. It is more related to one's attention and quality of movement. So I believe movement practice is simple, yet, cotinuing to show up everyday with great attention and mindfulness is the most difficult part. Sounds like you're doing very well! So keep it up!
I love this routine. As with your other videos that I have tried, the more I do it, the more I understand it, and the more I feel knowledgeable and connected to my own body. I appreciate that you use 'right' and 'left' oppositely from what you are doing at the moment. It makes mirroring your movements easier for the viewer. Not many coaches bother to do that, so that's another reason your videos are outstanding.
So glad I found this video! I'm dealing with chronic pelvic pain and my physiotherapist advised me that my pelvic floor could be making up for lack of strength in other areas of my body, such as my hips. She also told me to do exercises SLOWLY to gain better strength and motion, and Taro is only the second person that's ever told me that! And I've been to osteopaths!! Am so glad I have new exercises to add to my routine to get my hips strong. Thank you!!!!!
I have the most tight and inflexible hips of anyone that I know. Doing this routine just one time made them feel a little better. Thank you so much for this intelligent and kind-hearted content.
Suoer, danke. Jetzt merke ich, wo es noch klemmt auf dem Weg zur tiefen Hocke und Lotussitz. 🙏Die tiefe Hocke ist einfach genial. Und das mit Ü50. So beweglich war ich noch nie😊
Getting back into an exercise routine: flexibility, strength, and cardio are my pilars. For flex, i’m following your playlist and this video was the first. Good approachable exercise, i think will do me good!!
You give me a lot of inspiration for my shiatsu teaching lessons and relaxation for my own body. I really love the Feldenkrais methode. Thank you so much for sharing. Rini from the Netherlands.
So very helpful…so much more than stretching..so much more effective. The coordinated breathing, the gentle reminders to soften the ribs and let the spine be flexible and not stiff as you perform a twist, all those small details serve to help me to guide my body to where you are teaching it to go, with all nuances . You anticipate when the novice, or those with chronic pain or both, will tighten or hold in their body’s , and coach to remind us to ease and soften also those areas, making each exercise more effective and allowing natural movement to replace acquired bad habits. I wish i could see you regularly in person for training. But glad to have found you online. Thank you for being a wonderful teacher.
Great day, I have a knee injury which has caused pain when, climbing stairs. I started with the exercise using the dowel ,I did get some relief however I have combined the unconventional clamshell and the hip mobility, the result is fantastic. I need to be more disciplined in my approach, not consistent. Thanks hope to be a subscriber in the near future.
Very good. I knew before that my hip mobility is very limited, but this was illuminating. I also enjoyed further exploring how body parts have to move in sync.
Wow - this was incredibly helpful. I was born with hip dysplasia and then injured my lower back a couple years ago. My hips flexors and psoas get sooooo tight, as do my neck, back and shoulders from computer work. I have begun using your videos and have found much relief, but I can't believe the instantaneous results with this one routine. I look forward to integrating your videos into my daily life. Thank you!
I love this. I'm coming back from herniated disc. These exercises I do every day. I'm feeling great. Thank you for posting this. Lovely video. Nice man.
Wow, you're AWESOME Taro! My husband stumbled upon your channel one day. He was trying to help me find something to relieve my shoulder and neck pain. I love your channel and everything you show on here. It all WORKS! I'm a huge fan and I use your exercises daily. Thank you for sharing all of this with us. I've shared your channel with my siblings and friends and they all were grateful to have found you.🙂
Hello Taro. Today was Day 2 of the other video intro Psoas video and Day 1 of this one. Thank you it feels really doable as I am focused to overcome stiffness from arthritis. You are greatly appreciated.
I thought my days of me working were over ,sleeping too, the pain! The.muscle tightness was so severe, but after a few weeks of this video and alternating with a few of your others, I had a pain free day! I can move again. I can walk without a cane, sleep 1OX better , I'm getting stronger and more mobile and start a new job in just a few days! This stuff is INCREDIBLE! Taro, thank you!!!
So happy for you! Hope it gets even better. I can relate and close to giving up after 20+ yrs of daily pain and like most exhausted options - at 54 too young to feel so old. Too many of us like this. TY for giving me and others hope. 🙏
Thank you very much..I will try this..I am very stiff in my right hip..had an spinal operation R5 R4 removed years ago..since then lots of pain..but some days not..strange. Thank you.
This is great!! I have never really understood deer pose and I think I get it now. I’m also very inflexible from a childhood hip surgery so I need to do this and see where I can get. Thanks for these awesome very well explained videos!
could you make a video on retraining to get rid off a pelvic rotation . I have that and those patterns are so engrained . Caused alot of problems over the years and need to change that.
Happy New Year! Excellent as always. Wonder if you have one for mid back? I get tight aright about where a bra band sits. If I can get someone to crack it, releases pressure and get energized.Manifests in mild neck scoliosis. Neck ligaments are stretched out. Back straighter with chin tucked is a goal.
Thanks. I followed you along. Felt it like a stretch on the left side glute. I'll give it a whirl for a week, 2x a day and see how the left hip flexor is feeling. After maybe I have a sore hip flexor due to a tight glute.
Love your videos and I am so grateful for them, but I got interrupted twice be by commercials. I’m pretty sure there’s a way to have UA-cam advertise at the beginning and end of videos instead of the middle.
Hi! I love this routine. When I go to sleep, my butt (gluteous) and hip bone? hurt. It wakes me up. I am hoping that these help loose up some tension. I am doing spine like a chain too. Perhaps I need to do sciatica exercises? I am not sure if I have piriformis or herniated or something else. I was told I have degenerative disc and osteoarthritis in my back. But I want to address it with Feldenkrais!!!
I couldn't sleep due to hip and low back pain after yard work today, so I turned on this video and did the routine to see if I could relax some of the tension, and I am now loose enough to do a few minutes of the "primative" squat to release more tension. Doing well so far, but my dog wonders what on earth i'm doing up at 2:30 in the morning!
11-11-22 Taro, First I want to say I forgot my Yahoo password months ago. This Brooklyn native finds your method a nugget that is hidden from people.I am glad to be aware of it!Thank you for this knowledge.Q: Are you in New York City? Signed, Keith P. Cooper
Thank you, Those are all very naturaly movements. Like Children move when playing on the floor. Do I understand it right, that the buttocks have to stay on the floor? ( Than I have a very litlle motionrange🤔)
Thank you for your comment! Whether the buttocks stay on the floor or not really depends on your individual body and comfort level. It’s important not to focus on correcting your movement but to allow your body to move in a way that feels natural and easy for you. Embrace the exploration and trust your body’s ability to find its own path!

Thankyou Taro, another fantastic movement lesson. this has helped get my tight thoracic spine moving
You are so welcome!
could you make a video on retraining to get rid off a pelvic rotation . I have that and those patterns are so engrained . Caused alot of problems over the years and need to change that.
Thank you. Love the gentle movement. Any video for addressing inner thigh, side of groin, hip n itb tightness?
that would be this one: ua-cam.com/video/4sb2gQnKhgM/v-deo.html

this one actually mobilizes mid back , si you can direct more movement into your mid back.
great!
great!
Thanks. I followed you along. Felt it like a stretch on the left side glute. I'll give it a whirl for a week, 2x a day and see how the left hip flexor is feeling. After maybe I have a sore hip flexor due to a tight glute.
let me know how you'll feel after a week.

Another great video Taro.thank you.
Thank you for your easy to follow guided movements. There are positive results each exercising. 😊
Good Morning taro, lovely video, is this a good routine for someone with a hip impingement in right hip?
sure as long as you move slowly and gently through a range of your own comfort.
Thank you, Those are all very naturaly movements. Like Children move when playing on the floor.
