I love the little nuances this game has like on standard difficulty the note with the time on it say the time in normal script but on hardcore or professional it’s in Roman numerals. Cool touch Capcom. And that’s just one of many nuances in the game 👌🏽
1:05:30 Looks like the exclusive on the SG-09 is pretty good "as long as" you practice getting precise headshots. According to the Game8 guide: "The chances of critical hits happening vary from weapon to weapon with more powerful weapons scoring critical hits more often. We conducted a test with the SG-09 R, the game's default weapon, and we scored 4 critical hits out of 20 shots with the crosshair tightened and aimed properly." So given that the crit chance is a 5X upgrade that means it's 100% chance to crit "with the with the crosshair tightened and aimed properly", if you're going to run and gun then it's probably still not going to crit very often.
I thought it only affected certain enemies and even then only happened with headshots. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure all of those 'crits' against the bugs weren't actually crits.
Talking about how you would be screwed if you couldn't read Roman numerals, Proceeds to not know how to read a Roman numeral clock...that's just *chef's kiss* exquisite.
It blows my mind that my memory of maxes randomizer playthrough of this game seems to be better than his tons of memories of playing this game over the last 15 years lol
2:10:10 the term for that is input randomness. Input randomness means rng is involved at the initial stage of the game. In this game, it's seed. In other games like into the breach, it's at the start of every turn which pushes you into formulating the best plan of action. Then there's output randomness which is rng that is at the end of an action. Gacha, hit chance in rpgs, enemy encounter in old school jrpgs and loot boxes are some examples. In this game, output randomness exists only in the form of enemy loot drops where the moment they die, rng dictates what will be dropped by that enemy. It uses weighed rng and gives you what you're lacking. Low on healing? You're very likely to get herb drops. Low on a particular ammo? You're very likely to get that particular ammo type and so on. Keyword being likely as its never guaranteed due to the nature of rng.

1.5x on the magnum is great in my opinion early on. Even on hardcore it can one or two shot mini bosses or bosses in three shots. Also I agree that my one gripe with the game is that in the village there are so many point of no returns without it telling you. I missed on treasure in the factory on my second playthough and had to restart to get the trophy. I also just realized mid vid there’s an auto-sort lol.

I found this out but the quest to deface the Ramon portrait is a clue to his boss fight, if you save the gold egg and throw it at him in the fight, it does %70 damage to his health, 2 eggs and he's dead
Running theme. Max, "I'm going to use my Magnum is the plan." Proceeds to not use his magnum while using shotgun, sniper, and pistol.
Which is the right plan. Magnum should be used exclusive against bosses
@@RRRRRRRRR33 I wasn't stating anything about one plan vs another plan. I was stating the haha irony that he said the plan was TO USE the Magnum and then DID NOT USE.
I don't know how Max never realized that the knights drop spinels when killed and didn't immediately kill every last one of them
Tip:once u get the blade swinging plagas exposed flash grenades kill them instantly. Blue light is a weakness to them. That's why they freeze whenever Ashley shines the latern on them.
Glad I can finally watch this playthru after finishing the game!
Ha I'm waiting on the same. Just finished the chapter at 3:10:00 ish. So have to stop their for know. Just wanted to see Max's reaction after playing that section myself.
I luv him but why is he soo bad at moments…
I just finished it tonight too!!! Already on chapter 3 of ng+ too 🤣🤣
I absolutely love Salazar’s voice echoing through the room from one corner to another during his fight like he’s dancing across the environment
I can't believe they literally give another cart ride like they just know people will want it more 🤣🤣🤣
The mine part was so funny 😂 Granny throwing dynamites n shit, sent max and the chainsaw guy flying multiple times, it’s hilarious as hell 😂
I’m close to the end and man what a journey it’s been. I’m so glad I got the game, definitely one of the best games I’ve played. Just everything about is so well done. ❤
First time playing re4??? Shit slaps man
Ramon is projecting his own insecurities onto Leon, calling him a "small, small man" and "Pulgarcito" which is the Spanish version of Tom Thumb literally translated as Little Thumb.
I love the little nuances this game has like on standard difficulty the note with the time on it say the time in normal script but on hardcore or professional it’s in Roman numerals. Cool touch Capcom. And that’s just one of many nuances in the game 👌🏽
It makes the puzzle easier on harder difficulties lmao
2:19:52 okay that might have been the funniest death I've seen in this game so far
1:05:30 Looks like the exclusive on the SG-09 is pretty good "as long as" you practice getting precise headshots.
According to the Game8 guide: "The chances of critical hits happening vary from weapon to weapon with more powerful weapons scoring critical hits more often. We conducted a test with the SG-09 R, the game's default weapon, and we scored 4 critical hits out of 20 shots with the crosshair tightened and aimed properly."
So given that the crit chance is a 5X upgrade that means it's 100% chance to crit "with the with the crosshair tightened and aimed properly", if you're going to run and gun then it's probably still not going to crit very often.
I thought it only affected certain enemies and even then only happened with headshots. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure all of those 'crits' against the bugs weren't actually crits.
@@linkueicatastrophe9727 Yeah it's safe to say Max was only seeing placebo.
Talking about how you would be screwed if you couldn't read Roman numerals, Proceeds to not know how to read a Roman numeral clock...that's just *chef's kiss* exquisite.
Max going the wrong way like I did on my playthrough made me bust out laughing. I was so scared playing Ashley 😂
Hey Max! You probably won’t see this but I recently had a bad eye injury and had to keep my eyes closed for 2 days and all I could do was listen to music or podcasts but all I did was listen to you play Re4 remake on UA-cam and it really made me forget about my pain for those few hours
Thank you for that :)
2:02:24 "This game is a roller coaster" he says. Oh how funny this is when you know what's about to go down in the very next chapter X)
Villagers: *throws dynamite*
Max: "What is exploding!?!?!"
CJ: "Ah Shit, here we go again."
Max: "Where is other twelve?"
Me: "JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, MAX!" [out loud]
-"If you don't know roman numerals you'd be screwed"
-Proceeds to fail 🤣
2:16:48
That played out too damn well to not admire! Awesome!
Well the merchant actually tells you to finish any unfinished business if you shop with him right before the point of no return.
@@RadTony He does it sporadically and normally after you’ve already been locked out of it though.
Ive been using the red 9 myself
@@R.-.Wnot really. He tells you right before you’d be locked out of it.
The part where your with Luis made me think it’s a experiment for a RE5 Remake. ^^’
Leon getting chainsaw'ed by a flaming chainsaw guy should be on a metal album cover
That "NOOOO" at 4:01:05 hit home because that was me at this part 😂
The plaga infested armor is waaaay horrifying in the remake!!!!
3:28:31 Between his inability to respond to audio cues, apparent hatred of health items, and insistence on fighting in the most dangerous way possible, it's kind of hard to watch Max play sometimes
The guy lost his fire
The Novistador getting the Ripley Assist is one of the funniest things I've seen on here in awhile.
Enjoying this playthrough!
You're supposed to shoot the Verdugo when its frozen. You can kill it and obtain a treasure from it.
His version of 7 12 will forever be his funniest hour.
1:51:04
what ever happened to "live with the choices you make! This is hardcore!"
Come on Max 😂
Man, the metal gear vibes that knife boss fight gave me, all the cinematic... and the luis sera death resembles a lot to Big Boss's death in MGS4.
The new design of the armored Garrador is incredible, and I like the new Novistador's camouflage technique. Also I gotta say I enjoyed the ballroom Novistador section much more than the sewers and the cave of the og combined.
"Novistador" sounds freaking funny in spanish. Is like saying "nosight'er", which is ridiculous xD
Max's "GRANDPAA" & "GRANDMAA" Screams are absolutely Hilarious😂😂😂😂😂
he had to be trolling us with the time puzzle
Nope. Several people, me included, did understand it this way.
This puzzle is designed for people who can't read Roman numerals and have to "visually" reproduce the numbers.
My cheeks were fully clenched waiting for that darn elevator in the Verdugo fight
2:52:25 Maximus speaking the truth!!👏💪
They took one of the lowest chapters (literally cause it's in a mineshaft) from OG and made it into one of the best. Major props
The game is effin amazing. That's all I can say✌🏿💯❤️Thank you for this Max! RIP Luis💙🙏🏿😞
I’m in the process of playing RE4 for the first time. But I had to pause since I had surgery today. I can’t put stress on myself or get my blood pressure up.
So I’ll just watch you lol
Your surgery is obviously a much bigger deal (wish you a speedy recovery). But yeah I can also vouch that if you have chronic anxiety and it's acting up, this game will NOT help lol.
@@sean8102 Thanks man! It wasn’t too bad, I just had to get some polyps, a bone spur, my septum completely cut out, all of my turbinate removed and then get all of my sinuses cleaned out because I had only a 2% opening throughout my entire sinuses lol
I can’t play stressful games or do any strenuous activities because my nose will profusely bleed more than it does me just laying here.
But I have almost no pain, so now I have 2 weeks to catch up on some games I’ve never played. Elden Ring is first!!!
@@sean8102 After RE4 that is!
@@fearlesscheshirecat1411 Wow, that is a lot to recover from. I'm happy to hear your pain level improved a lot. And yea I'd imagine that takes a lot out of you to say the least. Enjoy your 2 weeks, take it easy, relax. And again best wishes on the recovery from your surgery, and in general.
@@sean8102 Thanks man, I wish nothing but love and good things to you as well!
Oh damn, Leon going all out on mutant Renfaire cosplayers with his guns, knife attacks and Ken crazy kick combos makes me wish he was in a Capcom crossover fighting game...(sad)
the music in ramons boss fight is just too fucking good, its structured like a proper waltz too
Just so thematically beautiful!!
The VII XII puzzle killed me lmao
Whole time I was like c'mon Max.. 🤣
Max warning JJ Incase she's watching the stream is very wholesome.👍
44:31 "Striker"
If you buy the exclusive ticket then the Riot Gun gets 19 damage vs. the Striker at 16 damage, and the Striker is almost useless on bosses due to the spread.
Striker is of course the go-to once you have the cat ears.
In this chapter of max's Journey you shall witness the Birth of Leon Wick
Literally everyone else: “Luis”
Max: “lewis”
2:56:01
Ripley cameo; very excited to see her dad!
The knife fight truly felt like an mgs moment even krauser feels like a mgs character
He is the best boss battle in the game. It would of been cool to get a sort of tutorial level where you and Krauser are together training. It would build up their character dynamic even more.
Big facts! Shit was dope. I'm about to do another playthrough lol.
@@thorinhannahs4614 nah that wouldn't have really fit with the flow of the game having them interact too early.
@@DonYoGi8331 I disagree we already have the intro give us a flashback with him.
@@thorinhannahs4614 again that was a flashback tho.
3:33:08 "Gun rhymes with fun for a welcome."
Salvador saws you in half from behind while being ON FIRE.
If that's not horror movie cinematic I don't know what is.
