2003 BMW K1200LT Review

- Quality. Luxury. Craftsmanship. These are the words that come to mind when we see the white and blue BMW emblem. The K1200LT was BMW's flagship touring motorcycle produced from 1999 to 2007. Powered by an in-line 4, 4 stroke, 1171cc engine producing 98 hp and 85 ft/lbs trq, its no slouch and has plenty of power to glide the rider, passenger, and all their luggage down the autobahn. Weighing in at 833lbs, the K1200LT is top heavy, but settles down and rides very smooth. Range is good with a 6.18 gallon gas tank, and the motorcycle is quite comfortable. Offering several creature comforts like heated grips and seats, plenty of storage, ABS, and reverse gear, the BMW is a joy on long trips. If you're on a budget and looking for a long distance touring bike with futuristic styling, then look to Germany and the K1200LT.
I love mine...no other bike like it.

I just purchased a 2003 and yes grabby brakes and riding it reminds me of my post highschool days as a laborer driving a wheelbarrow. Changing the air filter or coolant or just about anything requires complete teardown. Mine is going for sale ASAP to date it is probably one of the worst I have ever owned and I have owned well over 100 in all brands except BMW and Guzzi. Resale looks pretty bad too.
I got sea sick from all the head movement left right up and down (like a bobblehead) Could not concentrate on the bike and its features :)

the blinkers are self-cancelling.. give it a few,they go out, even on a lane change..

Can't take a review seriously from someone who can't figure out basic riding gear.
@6:05 the mirrors are not electrically adjusted, you do them manually yourself. ikr, funny for an $18,000+ machine.
Well what I don't like about your review you very no little about the biker even riding you don't even know if it has dual rotors you didn't even care about the year don't you think you need to adverse yourself in that type of information
Unreal.... I was trying to study about the bike, I test drove yesterday. Everything was looking so familiar. Then I realized this is the same bike... lol Domingo and Drew are the sellers I met.
Yeah man, good people! Word of warning though, GA is gonna require an inspection before it can be titled here. It has a rebuilt, previously salvaged, title. Nice bike though!

personally i think the goldwing has more to offer but i can see pros and cons to both.
the Goldwing is a better bike for long straight distances on a cool day. the bmw handles better can turn sharper and has better aerodynamics than the gold wing
@@kc03300 but does it have reverse? can it tow a trailer? i can go on and on but i think we understand each other. you dig bmw, i dig goldwing.
A wing can also cost 2-3 times more.
@@Larryjo44 really? ive never seen a 2003 bmw k1200lt for less than $2500 or any year k1200 for that matter.
@@Billy_Darley Well, I wasn't referring to this bike and wouldn't but it..too many miles and certainly wouldn't trust it on a trip. I did buy an 05 2 years ago with 22k with all the bells and whistles and mint for 6k..LOVE it. Comparable Wing would be twice the price...was my point.
