    Excellent review - articulate, concise, and mentioned all the the features. Very descriptive of ride impressions. Thankyou for this review - it is refreshing after watching so many poor ones.

    Perfect description of the bike. My wife and I (her as a passenger) just did over 6000 miles on a used 2002 that I bought with 50,000 miles. After an initial issue with the anti theft (FOB out of sync .. had to take it out and bridge 4 cables) it never failed us.
    All service I did was exchange of motor and rear gearbox oil. Similar issue with the ABS, though a restart often fixed that issue and temperature related the cruise control sometimes didn't work reliably. For the mileage it had on start it was an outstanding performance. The amount of oil refilled was 5 quarts on 6000 miles.

    I had a klr to now I just picked up a 2001 bmw k12 00 lt. I to was worried about the weight but I jumped on it and it was a breeze. the power is crazy and it could really go through the curves.

    Wow what a backdrop view. And a very nice bike too! I wanted one of these so bad, but the 900 lbs scared me away from them. Now I wish I had just bought one of these instead of the Harley XL1200C. ( 550'ish lbs. wet with its bags & windscreen ) Glad I stumbled upon your channel. I love the east TN area!

    picked up a 2007 K1200LT. Great ride. Added a John Gemi Stage 9 chip. Great pull thru the gears.!!

      Eddie Denise Could you please give more info on the chip please and how much it changes the bike. I've an 2007 up here in Canada with very low mileage.. Had been trying to sell her to buy a BMW K1300GT but these are easy to buy but hard to sell. It takes a special kind of person to want this model bike. But she's is oh so comfy and reliable.. Thank you. Keep the rubber side down

    I have a 2002 K1200LT and my only real complaint is when trying to pull out of my driveway at very low speed due to it being so top heavy. I have never dropped it, but I have came close a couple of times.

    Service not to everyone. The 1200 lt brake fluid does drop enough to trigger abs sensor with pad wear. This goes against BMW service notes but I witnessed this firsthand.

    Well dude, it is a year later, still no update vid on the K1200LT. Do you still have this bike and if so still like the bike? I sold the Harley and am still on the hunt for one of these beauties nearby. That or a Goldwing.

    Went in to look at a used RT and saw one of these at such a good deal it was impossible to pass up. I was worried about the size as well, but man this thing handles great. I was comfortable on the bike immediately. Got on the interstate and thought I was taking it easy while getting comfortable with it...looked down and I was doing 85mph. Thought I was going around 60 or so. Instantly liked this bike.

    • @motomatt8415

    I just purchased a 2005 K1200LT and the antenna was missing on this bike. I saw that you were missing yours as well. Did you ever get another antenna on your bike and if so what did you do?

    • @motomatt8415
      @motomatt8415  7 років тому

      Easy fix to the problem... not really. I found the speakers to be pretty weak anyway and cds are outdated, so I took out the six disk cd changer and the radio unit up front. I replaced the radio button panel with a piece of aluminum and mounted my gps. the radio in the front pocket can be removed giving some decent tank storage. I now run sena smh-10 headsets and love them I just play music off my phone and my wife and I can communicate. Not exactly the answer to your question but I hope it helps.

    • @mjones1126
      @mjones1126 7 років тому

      I actually have contemplated the same for music. I acquired a UClear Force 220 intercom (for my wife and I) and it will bluetooth to my phone. How did you mount your GPS? I didn't find anymore videos on your K1200LT... what year was it?

      Michael Jones it's an 02 I'll do a video on it and post but to make it short it's a ram mount with a ram aqua box and direct wired kit for my Garmin works great

    Congrats on your new bike to U. You are going to find these buys are easy to purchase and hard to sell. Shop for parts on eBay and Beemer boneyard. Stay away from BMW dealers, they are a total rip off. There are guys on this forum who will show how to do repairs. BMW Owners of a America is a great organization to belong to. Their annual rally's are only about 5000 strong and very quite; much different from Sturgis. I have been riding a R1200CL for past 11 years and just purchased a Victory Cross Country Tour. Safe Riding!

    Run the other way when you see a BMW K 1200 LT for sale. Run faster away from a single mother .. both will break your heart, and empty your bank account...
    both of them will be great...at first.... neither of them will have any feelings for you right after the weddings... both of them will take you for a ride, figuratively and literally..you may be happy for a short time, until the faults start to outshine the gleam.. you will have trouble handling the weight of one now, and of the other one sooner or later. One may smoke, one will smoke .. both will eventually have rear end problems...both will make grinding noises.. both will give you a distorted view. both may have great headlights but you will not be able to see what lies just around the bends .. you will shower both with lots of glitzy trinkets and $pecial extra$.But don’t waste your time. Both of them will take your money break your heart, and leave you., both are high maintenance...,you will look back and say to yourself, how could I have been that naïve.?...I aint never going out on that limb again. and you will have gained two things very valuable on this journey called life.... experience,...and ...wisdom.. after the years pass, you’ll get over it............... someday...
    can you can listen to me, or you can go out there on that limb and find out for yourself ..
    steer clear of available BMW motorcycles, and single mothers. There’s a reason they are looking for a new fool.. there’s a reason...lots of em...
    when you spot one, no matter how good they look, no matter how sweet they seem, no matter how great they feel,...somebody somewhere is sick of putting up with their shit !!!
