Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

One thing that always stands out in your videos, is you take time to spend with your children. I think you have a future farmer in Ila, but there is no doubt she is daddy's little girl. Farm on!

Also he always talked with Ila before moving any equipment to be sure that she would not get run over. Good daddy. P.S. Seed corn is not "candy". Good discussion with Ila.

I second the motion to highlight Jim. Also, kudos on demonstrating (without being preachy) your consistent focus on farm safety, including the need to teach children the host of unseen dangers as well as the big ones. I love that Miss Isla chooses to spend time with you and that you reward her with actual (versus feigned) loving attention. You do good work, Dad.

Although pretty much all youtube family video's will tend to highlight the best out of the day, you can often tell when the kids are not behaving naturally or are putting on a show. Or the parents are pretending for the camera here. However with zach, I get really no hint of that whatsoever. And after watching them for quite a while it seems like the family would seem very familiar to any one to see in real life verses how they portray on the videos.

Those farmers depend on that equipment and the investment they have in them. Having a happy mechanic to rely on is even more important to protect that investment. I do IT work and computer repairs in the home and i get some of that same treatment by business owners who rely on their computer equipment for a livelihood way more than just home users.

There’s a huge difference between farm kids and kids that don’t live on a farm. Most farm kids are outside doing things and entertaining themselves. Most kids that don’t live on a farm rely on technology to entertain them. Farm kids usually have great common sense and can figure things out better as they get older because of everything they learn on the farm. When I was a kid my siblings and I would walk the creek that ran through our farm when we weren’t working looking for sand stones, snakes, and other interesting things. Or we would walk across the fields to visit our friends and do things around their farms. We were seldom inside until late in the afternoon.

Hard working honest man that you can set your watch by, runs equipment and CDL license. Plumb up an air regulator and a hose with an air chuck on the end. Plug your regulator into the air supply and just regulate the air going into the secondary line and stick the air chuck on all the tires. That way, if you hear no air go through, tire full. If you hear air going through, tire low and getting filled up. Saves extra steps too so you don't check, then get the air stuff ready, them go back to all the tires that need it, fill them and then recheck them. Just have a secondary regulator on your air chuck on the wall and regulate a secondary line just for tires. Set your pressure right at the regulator.

I think you under estimate the work that goes into farming it’s not just something you choose to do like a normal career is. It’s more of just in your blood type of job for all us farmers we do it because we don’t know any different. That is how the countless generations before us did it and so that is how we do it and how our kids and their kids will do it. You will never become rich being a farm hand you will get paid a decent livable wage but that’s it no overtime no benefits no retirement except for those rich corn farmers in the mid west but most can’t afford to pay you very well for the work you do I believe the average across the country for a farm hand is about $15-$20 an hour. Unless you work for a corporate outfit that pays a little more but then your working for a soulless corporation not a family farm. Wish you the best of luck but it’s not a career like some other jobs are it’s a way of life!

Finished planting beans yesterday, my dad came and ripped up the field for corn so I guess I’ll be out there in a few days.

Blue point digital air gauge. I’ve had one for almost 2 years and it’s still spot on!

Nothing better than having kids that would rather spend time with you, doing even the boring chores, just to be with you. Your kids give me the giggles when they say things like "That tiny thing?" when it comes to big equipment. She's going to be a farmer like you. Yes, I know they aren't perfect, as we don't see the fights with the siblings and the sass from time to time with the parents. It happens. Keep up the fantastic work with your munchkins, and hoping to see more.
