New preview pictures for House of the Dragon season 2, episode 5 have been released. In season 2, episode 5 of the Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, we will see the first-ever interaction between Aemond Targaryen and his sister Helaena Targaryen, a scene between Daemon Targaryen and Alys Rivers at Harrenhal, as well as a shot of Daemon alone. We will also see Corlys Velaryon devastated after learning the news of Rhaenys Targaryen’s death, a shot of Rhaenyra Targaryen and her son Jacaerys looking through documents at Dragonstone trying to find out if and where the Targaryen bastards are in order to call upon them to try and claim their riderless dragons. Additionally, we see Rhaenyra and Mysaria having a chat and orchestrating different plans. We also see Alicent Hightower’s first reaction upon seeing Aegon Targaryen, and Aemond at the small council, which will elect him as Protector of the Realm while Aegon is recovering, even though Alicent will petition for herself to be the regent. Then, we have a scene of Alicent and Criston Cole where Alicent confronts him for siding with Aemond instead of her. We get more shots of Criston Cole and Gwayne Hightower parading the head of the dragon Meleys through King’s Landing, Rhaenyra at Dragonstone, and a new shot of Jacaerys meeting with the Freys at the Twins with his dragon Vermax.

In the book it says Daemon was not at all affected by Alys and her powers. Why they make Daemon suffer her visions for 3 episodes now?

Can’t have Daemon steal the spotlight from anyone because anytime he gets a scene I’m glued to my screen. I wish he’d actually join the war like he’s supposed to be but I know this is different from the books in many ways.

Rhaenyra and Jacaerys finally deciding to get more dragons and riders. But it could be dangerous, they don’t know those people, who’s to say they won’t turn on them and join Aegon later on.

So the blacks are giving dragons to new dragon seeds. These are people that no one knows. She has connection to the children of the forest and three eyed raven and the isle of faces has so much magical power and history in regard to the children of the forest. Alys is playing a part in his visions by doing things like giving him weirwood paste. But she is not the sole cause of them. Just like Bran when he had the weirwood paste it helped his powers get stronger. Daemon has blood of the first men so it is very possible he is a greenseer. And in the book Daemon resists Alys, where Aemond does not and ends up getting her pregnant.

Rhaenyra is not a minor nor incapacitated, and Daemon is not ruling in her place, so he is not a regent. He is the partner to the queen regnant, i.e. consort.

Weird that we covered so much time in s1, and half way thru s2 and it's only been a few weeks in the story. I figured since the war lasts a little over 2years we'd get a year per season.

great last episode. Aemond is a fantastic character. Not many words and loving the intensity he punts out. dragons forced to go up against each other. no wonder they were nearly wiped out. wouldn't mind if the books went into that a little deeper, so we could see the impact on the dragons. we know it does impact them because they get restless and lonely on their own as g.o.t and h.o.t.d. makes a point of showing this a few times. just like to see more personality in them but yh, im happy anyway.
Aemond is my only character that l care in this show apart from all dragons.

Vermithor is a huge dragon. Yet not ugly like Vhagar, why did they do Vhagar like that?
Because Vhagar is bigger. The production said that Vhagar's body form is not because of the age but because of the size. Look at Dreamfyre (Helaena's dragon) she is 100 yo and older than Vermithor (94yo) but Vermithor is bigger because he stayed free at Dragonstone while Dreamfyre always remained in the dragonpit of kingslanding.
Vermie got fed extra well and was allowed to be mostly free by old man J while he was king for like 50 years,so he pretty much had the most premium treatment of all the dragons,and he also more than likely has some pretty cracked genes
He's the only dragon that was born after the Conquest to be really close in size to the original 3,even tho Vhagar is almost twice as old
At some point you’d think you’d start to see some of the features Vhagar has on Vermithor. Since they both had free range to get so damn big. I still think they just designed her wrong imo. I never would’ve thought she’d just look like a fat long neck dinosaur instead of a dragon.
