Sadly I suspect Kelly McGillis wasn't brought back because she both looks her age (which both Connelly and Cruise do not) and she hasn't kept her figure. On top of that looking her up on IMDB shows that while she is still acting, it's mostly been small roles on lesser known properties, so they might have wanted a more recognizable name for audiences today. I did see during the lead up to this movies release that someone asked her and McGillis said she was never approached for the sequel at all. I do think they should have found a place to at least drop a single line of dialog about "Charlie", I felt her character was dissed by not even getting a mention.
genuinely enjoyed seeing Matt be 100% emotionally invested also, much love to your mom, Matt! Hope she kicks this quickly and is totally healthy soon! 💛
This film is 10/10. I'd say it's one of my favorite films. I really admire and love the brotherhood and friendship of Maverick and Iceman, especially after they hugged and the scene shows the pic of their younger selfs. Also the Darkstar plane in the movie is not a real plane. But they actually used an actual prop model for the filming; but still the prop looks incredibly real is bcoz it is built by Lockheed Martin, especially its Skunkworks. U can see the Skunkworks logo on the tail of the Darkstar as well as on the stick gear. They based this design from the concept design of the SR-72 (successor of the legendary SR-71) which they're currently building in secret.
Fun fact Tom cruse was the only one outta the whole cast that actually launched off the aircraft carrier and everyone else took off from an airbase. Also another fun fact lol that scene where miles tellers goes inverted and he lefts up and hits the canopy with his head that wasn’t apart of the script they just didn’t tighten his buckles hard enough lol but the director thought it looked cool so he kept it in lol
I fell in love with jets and pilots so much because of my father. I never became a pilot, but I respect what they do and the pressures they are always under. Thank you to them!
You were right ... they are in the jets but not flying ... they are just doing their own acting, directing, cinematography while a pilot sits in front and flies.
Kelly McGillis was not asked to return as Mav's love interest. When asked about it, she said she is "old and fat and nobody wants to see her again." This movie was a fantastic sequel. I didn't really care for the ending. I would have preferred that Mav sacrificed himself for Rooster, but I understood why they chose the ending they did.
I just don't get reactors having a problem with Maverick throwing the dog tags in the original. I got the reason Mav did it, but so many think it was a some terrible act.
The fact that Matt chose to wait to watch this on Holden's video rather than seeing it in the theater? That's huge. That was a blessing to both Holden and the rest of us! Thanks for the sacrifice and holding out for so long when I'm sure you've been waiting for this since you first heard about the sequel being made!! I'm sorry to hear about your mom Matt! My mom went thru the same, had to get part of her thyroid removed because of it.
Jennifer Connelly's character in this movie was actually mentioned (but not in) the original. She's the "Admiral's Daughter" they joked with Maverick about having a relationship with in the bar conversations from the first movie.
Kinda surprised me too that all three thought that Jennifer's character was Charlie from the first one...especially as they'd seen _Top Gun_ recently but didn't pick up when Goose asked about Penny Benjamin? when being chewed out and the Admiral's daughter was mentioned.
@@imthewolf1 Goose whispers Penny Benjamin. Goose’s wife also says, “The Admiral’s daughter”. When Maverick asks what, his wife, “Goose told me about the time you went ballistic with Penny Benjamin”. It was the bar scene right before they all started to sing Great Balls of Fire.
I always liked Matt but I´ve never been so much aligned with him as in this reaction. He was exactly the same as me during the whole movie! Started from the hype till the very end! This was by far one of the best reactions to me -messured by a very high standard!
Matts reaction to this movie was everything I was hoping for. My family is Navy and Top Gun Maverick was my favorite movie last year. You can tell Tom Cruise but everything into this project and the fact that he pushed for Val Kilmer to be part of it because he didn't want to make a sequel unless he was on board it was definitely a passion project for him. Everything from this movie was amazing the characters, the acting, the music, the emotions, the cinematography etc. the list can go on and everything was on point. I'm not sure if yall caught it but the girl from the first movie Charlotte "Charlie" Blackwood wasn't in this one but I saw you guys were tying to tie her into the movie with Jennifer Connelly's character. Jennifer Connelly's character Penny Benjamin is a different character who was mentioned in the first movie and was the daughter of an Admiral that Maverick messed with but was never on screen and only mentioned by Stinger, Goose, and Carole. This movie is one of those feel good movies especially with the ending where Maverick and Penny fly away into the sunset and Lady GaGas music hits. I left the theater feeling so good inside. This movie while stressful was one of those feel good movies in the end where everything worked out in the end and from start to finish was such an impactful movie. I absolutely loved it.
I hope you guys love this movie like I did. This was the last movie I went to go see with my father in the theater before he passed. This movie holds a special place in my heart. Hope y’all enjoy. - Josh 😊❤
I feel like the: "It's time to let go" is more about Maverick still being a pilot. As he says to Iceman, he wants to do the mission himself, he's not a teacher,... Iceman is basically saying: You've done your job, you can move on to other things like becoming an admiral for example. To which Maverick responds: "I don't know how (to let go of being a pilot, that's what he is)"
100% I’m glad someone mentioned it. It wasn’t about goose’s death it was about maverick not letting go of his old identity of being a naval aviator. His time has come to let go of his youth and move on from that role in his life. He was stuck as a captain for so long because he wanted to be where he believed he belonged
This is probably the most fun reaction to this movie that I've seen- Holden and Jen are their usual awesome selves, but having Matt, who grew up with and absolutely adored the first one, in the room just losing his mind over how cool everything is takes this over the top. Most of us superfans were part of that $1.4 billion they made! Fantastic job, you guys!
@@zmarkoanything else you'd like to cry about? They were having fun watching an incredible movie together while also needing to have dialogue over the movie so that way they can even react to it and post it in the first place. They picked up the stuff that they needed to and if you think that they're not going to find out anything that they potentially missed which honestly didn't seem like there was much at all, then you're mistaken. Let them have fun. Otherwise just be a sourpill like you
@coltonholman8842 you're entire statement literally made no sense... whats the point of watching a movie for the first time and not pay attention... and you're demeaning the movie if you think it's ok to act like that talk that much and not listen as much... by that logic you're basically saying the movie isn't that good or isn't good enough to focus your attention on it
@@zmarkoI'm with you... people really only do reactions because they want attention and money... if they acted like this or talked this much in the theater they would've been kicked out... whats the point of watching a movie if you're not gonna pay attention
Nice to see Matt again! I absolutely love this movie and think it should’ve been the best picture last year. Hopefully, you guys love this movie. So sorry for matt’s mom.😢
I'm happy you guys got to see this, especially with Matt. Most of the time he seems unimpressed but knowing his genre of military films is a lot of fun in his excitement. This film reminded audiences of that less CGI and practical scenes with a good goes a long way. The other great thing is to what Jenn mentioned. This sequel gave us character growth beyond Maverick. While the first one created a tragedy from Goose's death we get to experience Rooster's impact as well. The death of Goose still lingers in their lives and they had to come to terms with it while overcoming each other. I say this may be one of the best films from 2022. I wish movies like this got Oscars or something instead of the artsy stuff.
I think it won for best sound mixing or something in that category? It deserved way more wins of course, but it still got a lot of nominations, including best picture.
I'm glad you all liked Top Gun: Maverick. This is in my top 10 favorite movies of all time. I was watching the first one for the first time on Netflix and then the trailer for Top Gun: Maverick dropped, and I was thinking to myself, this is the weirdest coincidence to happen in my life. I also recommend that Hooden and Jen should watch Karatie Kid 1-3 and Cobra kai. Cobra Kai also does a lot of great callbacks to the Karatie Kid movies, and it's one of my top 3 favorite shows.
1st of all Matt sorry to hear about your mom sending her good wishes. Second of all Great reaction from all 3 of you! We need more Matt in these videos! the banter, the companionship loved all of it! Plus it was great to see Matt geek out about the film.
Top Gun: Maverick was undisputably the BEST movie of 2022. If you're not a pilot, this movie would make you seriously wanna be a fighter jet pilot after watching it. Even if you're already a pilot (hobby or commercial), you'd still seriously wanna be a fighter jet pilot after watching it. So so so so good, this movie was.
The Darkstar is actually a physical prop that was designed and built by Skunkworks (you see the skunk different places on the airplane, on the stick, tail etc.) Skunkworks also made the SR-71 Blackbird, fastest jet to ever fly. The physical prop was outside and made the chinese fly over the area with a satelite. The roof lifting was actually not planned.
That scene was done with an F18 that then had the Darkstar composted over it. The F18 exhaust did knock the roof off and Ed Harris is a bad ass that stood there and didn't flinch when it passed.
I think Jen is kinda missing the reason Maverick disobeyed orders in this movie. In both instances it was him being entirely unselfish - he acted for the better of his team. In the first instance he did it so that the other people would not lose their positions and the project they were all working on. He knew he'd probably get into serious trouble, but he did it anyway. In the second instance he did it to inspire the team and give them confidence in their abilities by showing them that the mission can be flown. Again, he knew he'd probably get into very serious trouble, but he did it for his team. So, IMHO, in both instances it was not a case of arrogance or pride, it was a case of taking one for the team. And that is real character development.
I will swear to this day Mavrick didnt steal the jet for his mission-proving run, Warlock gave him authority. Look at the look on his face when Mavrick did his run. He knew!!!
This movie is hands-down a 10/10, and my second-favorite Tom Cruise movie, and within a breath of Last Samurai, my absolute favorite TC movie. Great reaction, guys, as always! Take care, be safe!
Aw dude, prayers for Matt’s mom, my mom has been living 13 years cancer free but I remember how rough the years she did have it were so, hope she comes through. Also never seen Matt so hyped lol it’s awesome
Best one with Matt yet. He showed a side of himself we don't generally as much & I thoroughly enjoyed his open reaction. Glad he was part of this with you two & this might be one of my top 5 favorite reactions videos from your channel!!!
Have to admit I don't think I've seen Matt get emotional watching a movie before. It's awesome to see him let it out and not hold back. Love this reaction all around! I've only seen this movie one time before and I thought it was okay for the most part. But watching this reaction made me like it a whole lot more. I'm going to watch it this week at some point and I'm excited to watch it. Good to see Jen change her opinion on Maverick at least a little bit. Hopefully she reads my first comment and it can help her see it a little different and help her appreciate him a little more.
Jennifer Connelly’s character is the Penny Benjamin mentioned between Maverick and Goose in the first movie when they are being chewed out about buzzing the tower and a ‘history of insubordination including one general’s daughter’.
Jennifer Connelly’s character was not in the first one but she was referenced as the daughter of a general that maverick hooked up with. And they mentioned her being that girl in this movie early on.
He is not flying the Super Hornet. He is in the rear seat of a two seater but shot to make it look like he is flying it. 100% sure of that fact. He did however fly the P-51 Mustang at the end which he owns and has flown for years.
@@thesnazzycometno but he was the first african american to complete navys basic flight training program and also first african american naval officer killed in the korean war
Holden, Jennifer Connelly's character is not the same character from the first one, but she was referenced in the last movie. The scene at the beginning where Mav and Goose were getting yelled at right before being sent to top gun, the "admirals' daughter" is mentioned. To which Goose looks at Mav and says "Penny Benjamin". Just wanted to point that out since you guys all seemed to think she was supposed to be the same girl from the original. Loved this reaction tho! Been waiting for this one for quite some time.
She's also referenced later by Meg Ryan when she says Goose told her the time Mav "went ballistic with Penny Benjamin." Also, Penny's Porsche is not the same vintage Porsche that Charlie had in the original, but it was a nice call back IMO.
Tom knows how to fly many different planes (he owns the one in the last scene and it was him flying it with Jennifer Connely onboard), but he wasn't allowed to fly the F18 in this movie. So yes, all the actors actually experienced those maneuvers because they were in the planes for real, but navy pilots were flying all the jets, Tom's included.
Yes, and it's also the reason that they had to put the line in about the jammer preventing them from using the F-35s while the practical reason is that the F-35 doesn't have a two seater variant. My only hang up with the film is that even the worse pilot in a 5th Gen jet is going to absolutely destroy an F-14, Top Gun instructor piloting it or not. And yes, Matt, the newer jets really can move like that.
@@pigs18 Some sim-jet-fanatic tried challenges like that against others of his group. F-22 vs F-14 in some good dogfighting simulator. There was simply no match at all, the F-22 would just draw circles around the F-14, without even considering it can almost fire missiles when the F-14 was behind it (assuming it could even get there, which it couldn't). In a head to head start (both flying towards each other) the F-22 was behind the F-14 before it could do a 180
How much time Matt waited without watching Top Gun Maverick is mind blowing to me( since he's a huge fan of the original) Loved you guys reactions. One of the best reactions I ever seen.
I went into this movie knowing how cool the fighter jet sequences would be. What I didn't know was how much I was going to love the story. It's one of my favorite movies of all-time! My grandfather's favorite movie was Top Gun and I wish he would've been able to see this before he passed because I know he would've loved it.
Can we just take a minute to appricate Holden for uploaded in 4K only 3-4% of his audience watch UA-cam on a 65' 4k TV and I'm omw of them so thank you very sir this was epic! 🍿🙌🏻💯
2 things. The new love interest is not the same girl, it’s Penny who is mentioned as an admirals daughter in a throw away line in the first one. And also the Navy would let let Tom Cruise fly the jets, but they were in the jets for all the scenes
For those of you that are new here Like and Subscribe! It’s hard to say with all the great content you have made already but I think this video is my favorite! I love the intro with Holden and Jen flying the jets. I love the museum tour and “I wonder what Matt is doing?” You both nailed the sponsor bit as well. But the best parts were the reactions and collective banter throughout the movie. I can’t wait for the next one! ✌️😎👍💕
My dad was in the navy, so I was born in a naval hospital there in Pensacola! Cool to see you guys checking it out, and this movie was SO good! Hope y'all loved it as much as I did!
"Let it go" refers to Maverick feeling guilty about pulling Rooster's app and feeling responsible for his safety in general. I.E. if Rooster is the best choice, don't let personal feelings influence the decision, and 'let him go'. IMO.
So just in case you guys missed it because it's easily missed, the lead female role in this movie was not the same female character from the first movie. There is a quick reference in this movie to where they speak on she is the daughter of an admiral that he messed around with earlier in his military career which is ironically referenced in the first movie as well. They didn't list the female by name in the first movie which is why it allowed this character to come forward in the sequel. It's unfortunate but they did not recast the original female character simply because the audience probably wouldn't have believed they would have stayed together because the actress has not aged well over these past 30 years if you were to look her up and see what she is like now. It's an unfortunate truth and I hate to say it but it is true.
Tom Cruise is an aviation buff and put in a nugget for pilots in the audience. In the last dogfight, the ejection handles didn't work because the F-14 had a real feature requiring them to be manually armed before each flight, but Rooster wasn't trained on the F-14 so he wouldn't have known. But the movie still works if you assume the plane was just old.
I actually got to see an advance screening of the movie 3 days before it came out in theaters worldwide. I gotta say that it was one of the best movie theater experiences ever
- The Lord Of The Rings : The Fellowship Of The Ring & The Return Of The King - Avengers: Invinity War & End Game - Blade Runner 2049 - Spider-Man: Far From Home & No Way Home - John Wick 3 & 4 - Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Fallout, Dead Reckoning Part One - Aliens - Deadpool 2 - Guardian Of The Galaxy Vol 2 & 3 - Mad Max: Fury Road
I was actually a sailor on the ship they filmed the movie on. Interesting experience to say the least. I loved the first one and I love this one even more.
@Holden No, TC was not flying those planes. The NAVY doesnt just hands over planes to movie productions to use them. I have to say I absolutely love Matt's energy here it was a lot of fun. Maverick pulling his application to the Naval Academy wouldn't stop or even delay his carrier, there are other ways to become a pilot in the NAVY they blew that out of proportion. This not the plane its the pilot applies in a few situation but a 5th gen fighter would mop the floor with a Tomcat especially if there are more than one. The difference is so big its not even funny. My main issues are with the mission itself, nothing about this mission makes any sense. 1. The Navy should've just strike that ridge line while they were at it, they announced the Hornets with the airport strike anyway. When Tomahawks raining down your base its safe to assume you are under attack. Saturate the area and even if they dont kill everything make it easy for them by destroying as many radars and missile batteries as possible. 2. The flares they used do absolutely nothing for those radar guided missiles but looks cool on screen 3. Those are medium to long range missiles, they cant maneuver when you launch them against planes that are that close they could've literally just fly between them, pull a high G turn and the missiles would just miss them. 4. why not do an Immelman ( a loop ) and egress the same way they came in, bellow those radars and missiles? 5. where were the growlers? the NAVY dont do suicide missions, they would've attach a flight of F-18Gs to this strike for EW support which would absolutely annihilate those SAMs and their radars 6. the admiral sent Maverick to NAS North Island ( San Diego ) but TopGun is at NAS Fallon in Nevada. 7. TopGun doesnt train pilots for specific missions thats the job of the squadron the pilot is at And these are just some of the mission related issues I could think of the list for the movie would be much longer. There were a lot of creative shots in the movie that was fun and interesting. Like the one at 40:32. That is not a rejoin, its a departure from formation. Rejoin is normally executed from behind and/or bellow so they can actually see the plane they are trying to fly formation with. It is a really cool action movie I placed my expectation wrong, was hoping for a movie about naval aviation but this is an action movie with planes. I wish someone would make one that is at least somewhat accurate.
Love love love this reaction guys! Top Gun Maverick was an amazing movie I’m happy to rewatch! BTW: the way I took Maverick’s dilemma is HIM letting go of being a pilot as his identity and him not being ready to “move on” or retire. 🤔 👏🏾 No lack of continuity there!
No, Tom wasn't flying the jet. He was in the rear seat with a camera to make it appear he was flying while actually being flown by a pilot in the front.. The outside shots are almost all actual shots of real pilots. Yes, they did have to train before hand because they were actually all going up. The scenes with the two-seaters were all sets.
This is one of rhe best reactions, oh my god. All three of your guys have such distinct energy and you're all bouncing off each other. Jen saying "Walmart Goose" and then seeing your reactions had me dying 😂
Best Maverick reaction of UA-cam. Few clarifications. Hell no TC didn’t fly that jet. I don’t think you realize how difficult it is to train and fly that course the way they did for the movie. Takes a hell of an operator and years of training to be that proficient. TC and the rest of the cast were trained essentially in an observer capacity and to operate the cameras, take the right shots and coordinate with the pilot up front what they needed to get successful shots. Although they were trained to sustain load factors and safety/ emergency procedures, no way the Navy or any other branch of the military would allow someone to benefit from a rare privilege of flying an active duty military jet because you are rich and famous. It wouldn’t be a good look for the military and pretty much be a middle finger to all our service men and women that sacrifice years to even have the remote chance of making it as a fighter pilot.
Not seeing this movie in theaters is a crime. Best movie theater experience I’ve ever been apart of. Watched it 5 times in theaters because it’s so good
Tom is not flying the jet himself, a civilian is not allowed by law to fly a military airplane. All the flying was done by actual Top Gun pilots or they made it look like they were (with helmets and certain angles). But Tom does have certain certificates to allow him to fly commercial (including a type of jet engine plane) or solo (he did with James Cordon for a sketch).
Great reaction, y'all. The live experience in the theater was unbelievable. People started sniffling during that familiar music at the start of the movie! And the crowd lost it when Hangman saved the day. By the time Maverick and Rooster embrace at the end, I was 100% DONE. So much fun to rewatch it with y'all.
Tom Cruise & the other cast members aren't flying the jets. They were physically in the jets though, but the planes were flown by actual fighter pilots. Tom is a certified pilot, but not a fighter pilot.
Interesting that you mention Tony Stark with Tom Cruise on screen. Rumors and "leaks" have been released saying that MCU intends to have Tom Cruise appear as a Tony Stark variant.
I liked the movie a lot, it was really similar to Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope. Not just the final mission where they have to navigate a long trench without getting shot down by the weapons along the trench and then hitting a vent/exhaust port only a few meters wide and avoiding enemy fighters. But Maverick is very much the Kenobi and Rooster is very much a Luke. Maverick has to teach Rooster to trust his instincts and let go of his fears and doubts. Hitting the target without the computer. Then of course Hangman comes in at the end and saves the day like Han Solo. With that being said even though it is familiar formula, it just goes to show that if you do it well and have respect for the characters people will want to see the movie. It is fun and entertaining and I'm glad it was made.
This movie means so much to me. It was the last movie we've ever watched as a family until my father passed away. I pushed it to my best abilities to watching this amazing movie opening night. I'm forever thankful for that experience alongside him. He had so much respect towards tom and jackie performing their own stunts. He and my entire family loved every second of this movie.
the amount you miss by talkin and looking away so much ........ also not the same woman ... not the same car . She is the "admirals daughter" that is mentioned in the first movie.
All the actors were sitting behind a real f18 fighter jet pilot, that's why they are using f18 jets in the movie because of two seats. The G force etc are real though
14:41 - tom cruise knows how to fly/pilot, but he ABSOLUTELY did not learn to fly nor fly the F18's shown in the movie lol. He was in the back seat of the 2 seater version of the F18s including all the other actors and didn't do anything other than act, the actual pilot in the front seat did all the flying (check the credits). Lets not spread misinformation guys.
Hot take- as cool as Ice is, he was responsible for Goose’s death. If he would have broken off like a team player instead of going for the points to win, then Goose would still be alive. That being said, this is an amazing sequel. Loved everything from Penny to Maverick to Ice.
As someone who use to be in Navy Aviation for 13 years and worked on F/A-18 Hornets, I cried also Matt!!! but for different reasons. yes about 80% of the jet shots was practical shots and how they did the flying "Head Shots" in the jets was, they used 2 seater Super Hornets with a camera rig above and behind the back seat's HUD displays that way they got the illusion of them piloting without the actors actually flying the jets.

He was stuck as a captain for so long because he wanted to be where he believed he belonged
it was 100% about letting goose go.
I feel like it's kinda both
This is probably the most fun reaction to this movie that I've seen- Holden and Jen are their usual awesome selves, but having Matt, who grew up with and absolutely adored the first one, in the room just losing his mind over how cool everything is takes this over the top. Most of us superfans were part of that $1.4 billion they made! Fantastic job, you guys!
Couldn't disagree more. I found the constant chatter and joking around while missing dialog and plot points incredibly annoying.
Otherwise just be a sourpill like you
@@zmarko Good thing there are plenty of other reactions to this out there, friend 🤠
Seeing this movie in IMAX was masterclass. And what a treat to have Matt in the video
I felt every emotion Matt went through with this movie, due to me going through it the same way when I first saw it 😂
Nice to see Matt again!
The movie has a ton of CGI though
Would maybe be worth doing 'my friend watches...' with more similar movies, like Fury for example if he's not already seen it
I'm glad you all liked Top Gun: Maverick.
100% should be next on the list!! They’ll love it!
43:40 - John Hamm delivered that line flawlessly, with that little note of both choking up and anger in hitching. It's so perfectly done.
he also was perfect in acting being annoyed with Maverick but deeply impressed by him.
Matt's reaction was the best. Dude was a wreck 🤣
Seeing the 3 of you react to something together is great. Loved seeing Matt again.
Admiral's daughter..
@@dennisswainston411 yep, got it wrong, lol
Dang, Matt caught the Star Wars similarity before Holden. I'm impressed!
“Impressive. Most impressive.”
"Obi-Wan has taught you well..."
The only film I've ever gone and seen twice at the cinema, it's such a masterpiece
ok i’m only like 2 minutes into the actual reaction to the film, but i am LOVING that Matt is playing Holden’s role so far! 😂
One of my favorite reactions from all of you- so glad you brought Matt, wouldn’t have been as good without him
Also hating 80’s music is criminal
That was a great one-take ad read from Jen! 😄
The actor who plays Hangman also plays a Navy pilot in an excellent film called Devotion. It's the story of the first black naval aviator.
Wasn’t that the period of time when Jonathan Majors was in every single film lol
I wouldnt call Devotion excellent, its also not about the first black naval aviator
@@thesnazzycometno but he was the first african american to complete navys basic flight training program and also first african american naval officer killed in the korean war
@@kylegareau9238 ah, I thought it was about just a naval aviator who went on to have a distinguished career
They sat in the back seat and filmed the scores why’ll the pilots flew the planes. So yes real planes were being flown but no actors flew the planes.
I’m loyal to the Harmy.
👊🏼💪🏽❤
I went into this movie knowing how cool the fighter jet sequences would be. What I didn't know was how much I was going to love the story. It's one of my favorite movies of all-time! My grandfather's favorite movie was Top Gun and I wish he would've been able to see this before he passed because I know he would've loved it.
Can we just take a minute to appricate Holden for uploaded in 4K only 3-4% of his audience watch UA-cam on a 65' 4k TV and I'm omw of them so thank you very sir this was epic! 🍿🙌🏻💯
Dang, you have a 65 foot tv??!!
@@401Impalabrand new OOOOOOOOLED
I love the museum tour and “I wonder what Matt is doing?”
You both nailed the sponsor bit as well. But the best parts were the reactions and collective banter throughout the movie. I can’t wait for the next one!
✌️😎👍💕
Hope matts mom is OK. Wishing her luck🙂
My dad was in the navy, so I was born in a naval hospital there in Pensacola! Cool to see you guys checking it out, and this movie was SO good! Hope y'all loved it as much as I did!
Words cannot describe how good seeing this in IMAX was. The sound of the afterburners was absolutely deafening.
It was awesome 🥺 I hope they put it back in, I’d definitely pay for it again
Goose did mention her name in the Captains office at the beginning of the movie.
Now Holden knows how other people feel when he watches Spider-Man with them. 😅
I love seeing the trio!! You guys always make the interactions, jokes and facts so entertaining every time.
I actually got to see an advance screening of the movie 3 days before it came out in theaters worldwide. I gotta say that it was one of the best movie theater experiences ever
This movie to me, is one of the greatest sequels of all time. T2: Judgement Day, The Empire Strikes Back, and Top Gun: Maverick.
- The Lord Of The Rings : The Fellowship Of The Ring & The Return Of The King
- Avengers: Invinity War & End Game
- Blade Runner 2049
- Spider-Man: Far From Home & No Way Home
- John Wick 3 & 4
- Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Fallout, Dead Reckoning Part One
- Aliens
- Deadpool 2
- Guardian Of The Galaxy Vol 2 & 3
- Mad Max: Fury Road
Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Spider-Man 2, The Dark Knight.

That was a cute intro.
Very camp. Loved it.
This might be the best reaction on the channel. Between Matt’s amazing reactions and chemistry/jokes with holden, and Jen hating the jokes.
I was actually a sailor on the ship they filmed the movie on. Interesting experience to say the least. I loved the first one and I love this one even more.
@Holden
No, TC was not flying those planes.
2. The flares they used do absolutely nothing for those radar guided missiles but looks cool on screen
3. Those are medium to long range missiles, they cant maneuver when you launch them against planes that are that close they could've literally just fly between them, pull a high G turn and the missiles would just miss them.
4. why not do an Immelman ( a loop ) and egress the same way they came in, bellow those radars and missiles?
5. where were the growlers? the NAVY dont do suicide missions, they would've attach a flight of F-18Gs to this strike for EW support which would absolutely annihilate those SAMs and their radars
6. the admiral sent Maverick to NAS North Island ( San Diego ) but TopGun is at NAS Fallon in Nevada.
7. TopGun doesnt train pilots for specific missions thats the job of the squadron the pilot is at
And these are just some of the mission related issues I could think of the list for the movie would be much longer.
Matt getting emotional in this movie is just the best thing ever ❤
Interesting that you mention Tony Stark with Tom Cruise on screen. Rumors and "leaks" have been released saying that MCU intends to have Tom Cruise appear as a Tony Stark variant.
Its honestly one of the best made movies I've ever seen.
I love the complete opposite Matt and Jen had lol. Matt’s crying the whole time and Jen’s busy calling rooster Walmart goose lmao
Now i get that Maverick keeps braking rules. But the movies would be pretty damn boring if he didn’t Jen. 😂 cut him some slack
Penny was the daughter of an Admiral that Maverick got in trouble for being with that was mentioned in the first Top Gun from what I have been told.
the amount you miss by talkin and looking away so much ........ also not the same woman ... not the same car . She is the "admirals daughter" that is mentioned in the first movie.
All the actors were sitting behind a real f18 fighter jet pilot, that's why they are using f18 jets in the movie because of two seats. The G force etc are real though
Required viewing (offline) Ryan George "Pitch Meeting" for this movie. One of my all-time favorites.
That’s not the same car or house. It’s a different girl all together. Her name was Charlie.. this is Penny the Admirals daughter.
Did anyone ever tell you that you look like a mixture of Chris Stuckmann and Kevin Owens?^^

This movie honestly blew me away I wasn't much of a top gun fan but I was so surprised how good it was
Man I apreciate the effort but this is definitly one of the worse "Top gun" reaction I have ever watched.
14:45 & 37:00 to be clear he wasn't allowed to fly the plane, was always in the backseat for the shots
Not Charlie's car or her house from the first movie. Completely different character.
I always figured Ice Man was saying he had to let go of the fighting part of the flying, pass it off to the next gen 🤷
Hot take- as cool as Ice is, he was responsible for Goose’s death. If he would have broken off like a team player instead of going for the points to win, then Goose would still be alive. That being said, this is an amazing sequel. Loved everything from Penny to Maverick to Ice.
I soon as I saw Matt in the thumbnail, I immediately knew that Jen was gonna get third-wheeled
It was a real touching moment when Matt’s mascara started to run. It made me get a little misty. 🙃
you are wrong thats not the same car as the first one, it was alot older porshe. and it was black
A fantastic movie and sequel that embraces and even heightens the 1st movie
is this Jens first on a skit? Amazing raction as always. much love.
Bro 80s was the best music era wtf. And I’m born 1999
