I dont think that is what he saying. I think it was more of reflection of now there is something else he is losing. He is losing is mothers looks he is aging. He is balder than me, We are getting old we have les in common. He Used Williams appearance to detail the loss he felt with time passing.William was his only family in a sense and the those age differences are extreme at that age. Every change William goes through he loses what little he has at the moment having never fully dealt with the loss of his mom. You hear him detail this when he describes the weddding of Kate and Will.
My older brother and sister told me not to know them at school, I later told my younger brother and sister ‘pretend not to know me’, I felt awful about it years later but it’s what we did. It was like ‘don’t embarrass me when I’m with my friends’. We are all close though and have grown ever closer the older we’ve got. I’m happy none of them love me the way Harry loves William though

How true. It always amazes me how when my kids were young they would fuss and squabble with each other so much one could be forgiven for thinking they didn't like each other. But pity the poor soul who picked on my daughter's younger brother and when he got old enough he protected her. They always joined forces against the world yet drove me crazy with the infighting. It is true that Prince William looks like his mother. However, he also inherited the fat chicks on his father's side. As he has gotten older, Prince William looks and smiles like Prince Edward.
It was a metaphor, and if you had read the book you would know that he was infact referring to the breaking of a pact, Harry believes William has forgotten what they both agreed as teens to do in the name of their mother, and that was take down the press.

Add to this all the drama with Meghan, Harry even admits it was Meghan who upset Kate in that story, saying Kate had «baby brain». Well done Meghan who has her own podcast all about stereotypes of women dismissing a womans thoughts/feelings because of hormones and baby brain 🤦🏻♀️ Anyway, maybe Harry one day will wonder why they now sit there with no family on either side execept for Meghans mom.. Actually it's very common for an older sibling to want to be away / pretend not to know the younger sibling.... youths are youths...but when you are an adult and grown up, things are different and you look back at the old days with embarrassment. In school you want to remain individualistic/ you want to be alone away from family.
Trouble is William obviously never grew out of wanting Harry to stay away from him. Which is why Harry is so troubled. Sibling rejection is a very real thing.

Harry likes to make himself into an innocent helpless victim. He was probably the WORST little brother anyone could ever have. But for a younger brother who looks up to their older brother and who, it sounds like, was excited to be able to spend tie with them, I can imagine it was probably so hurtful. My older sister was one of the popular girls while I hung out with the weird art kids, and she rarely acknowledged me at school. And I know it's common, and it happens a lot. It still doesn't feel great, and doesn't really help the sibling relationship.

Dude he legit said in this interview that this was sibling rivalry. He knows it was normal. As he said, it was never intended to hurt William. I agree with you on the first part however. But you have missed the fact that he didn't express William was some kind of monster, all he did was show the truth of where the cracks in their relationship came from to show that is wasn't his wife who caused the rift, it came far before that. What he is talking about is the normal events that caused distance and turmoil in the brothers relationship.

First of all, people around the world love both of you dearly, Prince Harry and Prince William. We admired and love your mom. We were shocked when your mom had passed away. My way of showing love and care for you, is to leave you alone. You will have your way to cope with it.
May I say this to you. Prince William had told you to pretend not to know each other at school, that was one way to keep privacy in life for both of you. To move on with activities in life around friends at school but not with member of the royal family, may have help Prince William coping with his trauma. Bearing in mind that you are member of the royal family, and your perception might be so different from that of your brother.
You are so heartwarming. Your heart is so tender and caring. But your physical expression came out stiff and relentless due to conflict in mind.
