My honest prediction on Wayward Realms is that it will release as a buggy mess but maintain a dedicated community which will grow as the game improves, whether by official updates or by modders fixing it. Modders will also expand the systems greatly and the game will still be played decades later.
Skyrim was amazing for 3 reasons the 1 the world/npcs it felt real and exiting 2 the game play it was so simple non of these realistic animations (weapon sway etc ) simple but affective perk/level system 3 the unvoiced character with no cutscenes it made it feel like you was the character rather than controlling it
Every game Bethesda has launched since Skyrim has been increasingly disappointing. Obsidian has been on a similar downward trajectory. I don't have a lot of hope, frankly. I really enjoy 1st person RPGs, which there aren't very many of unfortunately. I went to college not too long after Skyrim came out, and I remember I used to sit and eat my lunch by the river daydreaming about the future of games like Skyrim. I don't know what happened.
Wayward Realms will most likely be undone by the very wide but not very deeps pitfalls of procedural generation. Example: Daggerfall Avowed will most likely be undone by its lack of open world and player choice. Example: Outer Worlds ES6 will definitely be undone by profit and their goal to monetize above all else. Example: Fallout 76
Must be exhausting to be so pessimistic. Either that or you're just trying to act as smart as you possibly can. Not to mention that Daggerfall is an ancient game meaning it's state is absolutely irrelevant for modern games, and Fallout 76 was never actually undone - it's doing pretty well now. The only thing that is somewhat acceptable is the Outer Worlds argument.
es6 both greatly looking forward to it.... and after starfeild dreading it at the same time. i actually did like starfeild until i realized that every "abandoned" area for bandit hunts was basically just 5 identical places copy passed to a randomly thrown together AI world. the stories you could fallow were interesting enough but also empty as their was little atmospheric story telling to be found. so much potential, i do hope they try again with the world they built but approach it another way in the probably distant future.
The updated engine? An interview with another UA-camr mat, todd slower said there use the starfeild engine update it. I love the elder scrolls and i have lost all hope so i abandon all hope and know only war
Love Origins ,an absolute masterpiece. DA2 was repetitive in design but the characters and stories were very very good. Inquisition looked very beautiful but it was mostly an empty game , it felt like it wanted it to be something else, I did enjoy the main quest to a certain degree but the characters lost that Bioware magic to me. The fourth game does not look like I would enjoy it , but I am going to reserve judgement until it is out and I have played it.
I'm intrigued by Wayward Realms, but I don't really know what to make of it. Avowed doesn't seem that special to me. As for Elder Scrolls 6, I don't expect it to be any good honestly. I'm way more exited for the future Larian and Owlcat games than any of these. Also Exodus
i think your right about procedural generation. but only as far as used in say Starfield. If and a big IF the procedural generation is used in the Development phase not the player phase of a game when its works wonders. RPG and Mine craft are not the same style of games. So in an RPG the Would Should be the same for each person to enters it. so if you wanna Procedurally generate the work thats perfect then you map your payer pathway and hand craft then areas they take the main part of the play focus.
Call me skeptical, but I am 100x more excited for Wayward Realsm than Elder Scrolls 6. Honestly, never heard of the first game but I would be more excited for that even. :/

The development is trending up. They hit their 700k kickstarter goal within days and have entered full time dev for the next year. Open beta will release and then a publisher can fully fund them and then the game has a legit chance
None of the games in the video will be half as good as BG3. The rpg genre will be fine. BG3 really invigorates the genre but some of these contemporary devs just aren’t the same people anyways
Can't believe you're not above 1k subs. Great quality vid, perhaps some background music could make it feel better.

those days are not coming back if we observe the latest trajectory. But let us hope , this franchise remains at least playable.
obsidian isn't really going in a downward direction, their RPGs... maybe, but their other stuff has been banger after banger
Try skyrim nolvus modpack. Wait for v6 release in a couple of months. I played v5 and its basically a new game
Greed and lazyness happened. They don't care about the players of their games anymore. They don't even listen to them anymore
1000% agree with you on ES6 Starfeild was so Horribly optimized. all they gotta do is not fuck it up for a Win.
Yeah, that's the hope.

What can we expect for Elder Scrolls VI? Bug, bugs, lies and probably more bugs...
It's "B" after all

I'll let the starfield comment slide 😆 I'm most looking forward to avowed and elder scrolls 6.

Immediately notice that Dragon Age Veilwardens is left out of the list; and rightfully so, I don't believe that it will be an RPG of any note.
I’m curious: what do you think of dragon age games?!

Avvowd worries me because it kind of of back tracked a bit. It look wonderful on its Revile Trailer. And now it kind of looks like a oblivion clone.
Personally, I dont like this artstyle. But they do make good narrative driven titles, so I am keeping my hopes up.

Elder Scrolls is going to bomb unless Bethesda suddenly decides to completely restructure. (they wont) It's idiots from top to bottom.
I am keeping up my hopes up, at the same time I agree that they have become incompetent
Elder Scrolls 6 opinions!

these games look so boring and uninteresting
Anyone else notice how this guy REFUSED to mention the name Fallout.
I doubt Wayward realms will ever make it to a full release. I have no faith in the developers to ship a product.

BG3 is a turn based game. Totally different... A great gale nonetheless
