The only thing that worked properly in the car was the Sony stereo and the V8. It seems like this hit had the same success in the UK, that British cars had in Sweden.
I think Some of these had poor distribution in the uk . I bought both Somebody Dance With Me by DJ Bobo and Obsession by Army Of Lovers at the time and both were on pretty small labels with not much availability outside the big cities and only got airplay on MTV Europe which a lot of people in the uk still didn’t have in the early 90’s.

"Highland" by One More Time is a fantastic song. I had never heard of it until I moved to Czechia, where it regularly appears on the radio. That's one song the UK really missed out on. Twisted Sister's track is great too. "Shame Shame Shame" by whoever this Izabella is, wasn't a hit in the UK in 1992 because Sinitta had a top 30 hit with the song. It's amazing how artists like DJ Bobo, Kate Ryan & Sandra were huge across the rest of Europe and never had a single hit in the UK. With Bobo, it was probably connected to how stupid his name sounds in English (e.g. Bobo the Clown).
Some really great smash hits there! It's a mystery why they weren't hits in the UK as well. What about other countries though? Many of these artists were Swedish.
In some cases, it's not strange at all, it's simply too bad lyrics for someone whose first language is English. Swedish musicians have gotten much better at it, but in the past it could be really bad, when it could even mean something completely different to an English speaker than to someone who has learned English as a second language. If I'm being completely honest, I think most of the list is shit, they probably had better music in the UK.
Does "Mary Malagna" from Sarah sample "Lose Control" by Laura Branigan, as the backing track sounds similar and the backing singer says "Creatures of the night", which is also in "Self Control".
I would argue a few of these are wrong. Like Jessica Folcker who is Swedish and mostly famous here. To be no 7 in Sweden and 47 in UK is not bad. The same goes for Leila K, September, E-Type and a few more.
There is only one Italian song on the list which, however, has reached number 1. (In-Grid) I'd be curious to know if the Eurodance cover of Crime of Passion (by the Italian project Blamble B) entered the charts in Sweden since the original was a good success.

I've never heard of most of these songs
I guess you are from Uk 😢
Army Of Lovers
😮😮😮😮 swedish artists with hits in sweden. I so wonder why
You are probably to young and missed MTV..and most of the artist are not Swedish.
UK and USA should both be ashamed for disliking on I promised myself from Nick Kamen, they hated it only because of the hit of Erasure (a little respect)
Highlands deserved better
Bah, the brits trying to be too cool for school.
Well...
Since Sweden is THE global authority and undispute GOAt of pop music there is no way tosuger oat this.
UK is all kinds of wrong with a side of incorect a generally suck at everything-
Stick to Classic Rock and Punk were you atleast have a fighting chance against other power houses like Sweden (again) and Finland
It is due to bad taste in music in the UK.
oh why bother commenting,,, hmmm I'm boooored the majority of theese artists are from SWEDEN and Loreen won the EURO MELLO a couple of times , hejsan hoppsan vad hände här... guess the language.
Not all 80's music were great😂
So?
Enjoy the music
For a country that produces so much music (the UK), they don't know anything about music
Swedish Bands. It’s all about promotion.
13 from Sweden and 23 from another country.
As a Scandinavian I could not care less...
