Definitely been my favorite shoe so far. I ran my first half marathon in it a week ago and I just love the extra lift it gave around mile 10 when I was feeling fatigued.
Just got these and ran a 32K long run past weekend. For my foot with slight bunion problem, the top eyelet would stab into my big toe joint after about 10K. More people need to be warned about this!! I have seen many commenters suggesting KT tape over the joint or skipping the lacing on the top set of eyelets all together. I want to love this shoe because everything else is fantastic, but they need to fix the upper.
I have put in about 250km in my pair and the only thing i have noticed about the durability is that on the outsoul right under the rod, this is where the foam was compressed a bit bit more and is now about 1mm higher than the rest. Maby it is because im using it in the snow and on light trails too, but im not sure. I also used to do trackwork in it and this worked fine. Great Shoe and Great Video!
Thanks a lot, I am considering buying a pair exclusively for my long runs during a marathon plan. (Racing in vaporfly, training in Deviate nitro 2, and track sessions with the takumi sen 8). I fell in love with the takumis and the lightstrike pro. Comfort of the upper, I would say I don't mind as long as I can run 2 to 3 hours without any chafing or blisters.
Good review Ben. I recently bought a pair of these at sale prices. I have run in the Nike (vapour/Alpha) and Saucony supershoes - all of which I have had problems with. Apart from some minor gripes with the upper - I find these far more comfortable to run in over long distances and the grip is amazing - which is important coming into winter!!! I hope they can improve on the upper a little - but if not then I would buy another couple of pairs at the discounted rates.
Terrific shoe. I've got 40 miles in mine so far at a mix of paces between 6:00-4:00/km. If the upper from the Pro 2 was on this it would be insane 😎 The 3 is definitely more stable than the previous version. I was planning to use NB RC Elite V2 for my spring marathon but I'm probably going to can that idea and use the Adios Pro 3 after doing a couple of 10 mile runs in both shoes.
@@jaychar2186 Ended up with the Alphafly 1 actually! Almost wish I’d gone with the Prime X, but the Adios Pro would definitely have been my last choice to be honest.
I’ve got over 120 on my pair and one marathon in them. It’s a good shoe, but I’d say wait for the improved upper on the next iteration if you don’t already have them. These are fine even at an eight or nine minute pace, but I feel it performs best when staying in the mid-7 range or better. They definitely keep you rolling forward unlike some of those shoes that bounce you up. I have to slide those foam protector things over my second to last toes to protect from those damn eyelets. Other than that, no real problems with the upper for me, but it clearly is in need of drastic improvement.
It's interesting that you're using this as s long run shoe. There's something to be said about limiting super shoe use for race day and a handful of key peaking sessions only, to get that race day psychological edge. "I've been hitting my goal paces in training with regular shoes, I'm going to really smash it on race day in these super shoes!"
The spring and bounce on these shoes is amazing, though I had to swap out insoles, adding an arch to stabilize the beastly midsoles with their wild geometry.
Hi Ben! Informative review👍 I bought them on discount so my question is how many miles or in my case kilometres you think that you could get out from them?🤔 I know that weight and running style makes so much difference.. I am a mid foot striker with 85kg of weight.
If you really used it for almost every long run since june.......... 20 weeks, 200 miles...... Your weekly long run is about 10 miles? By the way, I really like your videos and hope you'll be improving for years to come!
Mine have just arrived 😁😁 I'm not a fast runner ( 55 years old) but run over 50 miles a week and run every day . I'll be interested to see what the wear rate is like ( I have new balance and ASICS with over 600 miles and still very usable) . This shoe looks quite specialised , and are the most expensive run shoes I've bought so I hope they give me a few months use 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️ thanks for video 👍 update - ran my fastest ten miles in the shoes this morning ( 8 min faster) 😁 could be a bit of new shoe syndrome but I must say it's an amazing shoe making ten fast miles feel much easier. 👍
@Immortal at around 70 miles there is no wear , prime x the same 👍 if you don't have strong ankles these could be bad news , but I just take tight fast corners on the balls of my feet and that's that sorted . Very comfortable shoes
adidas rules again my pair is in the pulse lilac color, is a rea shoe i have reserve for a alf marathon in january b y he wa i did e2 time trials aa 3k and 5k and the shoe is amazing im oin o prove on a long run soon and save them for races only
What are you favorite training shoes? In your opinion can these be used as a trainer for even shorter runs? I have a nova blast 3, that I seem to like; and was thinking about adding another one into the rotation.
How did you find the toe box compared to say the pro 3 I got numb toes at the end of the marathon in the E pro 3’s- few people suggested these as an alternative Thanks !
I picked these up online today for 130 pounds!!! Im just hoping they are true to size and im an 8.5 in my hokas and im hoping theres no issues with the sizing
these shoes have a carbon plate installed or? I always thought shoes with carbon plate are more for race and tempo runs since they are already worn out after less kilometers. Or is it different with this shoe?
i got blister on top of my big toe in just 6km 😂, lacing also sucks always and heel kinda lose even when i have exact size, should've gone half a size for the blisters but i guess it's just the top design rubbing.
I've used both but use the takumi Sen more. It's not got full carbon rods (they're composite) but it's still v light and relatively snappy. I like how they feel going at faster paces and prefer to be closer to the ground and much more agile.
The takumi sen 8 is a much smaller and lighter shoe than the adios pro 3, which Adidas target for the 5k to 10k race distances. Worth a try on a treadmill in store before you buy to see how you get on with them?
Can I use this a as go to run shoe for almost everything? Right now I have the Novablast 3 for all my runs but I want something faster and more forgiving.
Why wouldn't you? I use my nb elite v2 no issues at all. I just got the pro 3 for racing but did a 10 mile run as a test and they work great as long run or racing shoe.
Training in carbon plated race shoe, won't that make race day performance less special? I imagine if you wear normal shoes such as Pegasus for training, then on race day, with super shoe, you can perform better.
When you train in a carbon plated super shoe, in this case rods, you receive less damage and impact from the ground. In return you feel less fatigued and beat up, especially on your shins and knees. You’ll see the difference once you start running over 14 miles
Excellent review, new to your channel and I'm playing catch up as a runner. Baby steps for me but this has been an incredible show and a major upgrade from the very unstable Pro 2. Many thanks for giving it so much effort! 🇬🇧🦿🦿

Great shoes. I have put on about 500km here and they are still going strong. Midsole not as springy anymore but these things are tough
When you say tough, what do you mean?
Hi Ben! Thanks for the great feedback on your 200. I keep saying to myself

Same here, NB RC Elite V2 is a great shoe, but it’s quite mild for the race day. The responsiveness of Pro 3 seems to be better choice for the race
Just got this on a clearance sale thank you for the recommendation! Great shoes so far only a few runs but I am extremely impressed.
Great stuff! Hope you continue to enjoy them
Great review and video. What would you choose Saucony Pro 3 or Adidas Pro 3?
Have both these and the Prime X and currently debating which to use for my first marathon in April 🤯 Not that there’s a bad option between the two!
Yeah I’d agree! Good luck
Which one did you end up going for mate? / also happy with the outcome?

the top is not supposed to have any sort of cushioning. its not a daily trainer, its a real running shoe. still looks awesome
The spring and bounce on these shoes is amazing, though I had to swap out insoles, adding an arch to stabilize the beastly midsoles with their wild geometry.

I’ve done just over 100 miles in them but they are pretty worn out now & giving me sore ankles. The rubber has worn down already on the heel.

I had to sell my pair whit 10km, still prefer ADIOS PRO 2 and Takumi sen 8 by far...for more distance ENDO PRO 3.

I personally would reccomend them for races from 5K- to the marathon :)
