I used to think I could also make Pokemon real and wanted to get into robotics to specifically make a Monferno do Flame Wheel irl. Thinking back I think that would have been a great hazard to everyone's lives, so good thing I went into environmental science instead.
Once I decided that I wanted to restart my HG save. Just clicking the “new save”. I got into Elm’s lab and checked the Pokémon. Chickorita was shiny. No attempts, it was that way as is. I quickly got it and tried to save. Turns out, you needed to delete the save to save a new game. I was HEARTBROKEN. Years later I decided to redeem that chickorita. It took 2156 resets but I FINALLY got him. Absolutely priceless experience

@pumpkinplushness This is why my old college prof always said "Samples save lives". Mostly it saves my sanity XD. Luckily dyeing is one of those things that the more often you do it, the easier it is to get the right colours in the first try or two. A strong sense of colour theory never hurts either 😋 I'm excited to start posting my repairs, sewing tutorials, and other such things to UA-cam in the coming months (different account). I got a waitlist over 35 people deep, so I got incoming content to last me a while 😅

That's a bold move picking Grass in Gen 2, where the first two gyms are super-effective against it. Unlike Fire in Gen 1, where it's weak to the first two gyms. That's completely different and in no way the same. /s charmander and chikorita are in the same boat yet people trash on the pear and love the lizard
Bcus Charizard is cool and Iconic and Chikorita is one of the worst Starters in its Region and Starters in ALL Pokemon Games To Date. Even if you exclusively just compare it to Grass Starters across all Games it's still last. Now if you still like it for it's cuteness or design that's fine but objectively it's bad. It's barely somewhat decent when compared to most other Grass Pokemon in general

My first game was Heartgold that I got for Christmas from my grandma. My first Pokémon ever was Chikorita so it holds a special place in my heart- and seeing someone out so much dedication and love into making a handmade plushie of one is really, really comforting for some reason. I always see people saying Cyndaquil and Totodile are better and the love for Chikorita is more scarce, but this gave me a tonne of nostalgia. I can’t wait to watch all of this series!
Wooo! Chikorita fam for the win! The plush is totally adorable, and I love this idea. Can't wait to see the room full of plush that you get by the end. As far as guesses. If I remember correctly the first few Routes don't have many new Pokemon. At least not in the grass. Without Headbutt I think you'll likely get a Sentret. Unless you wait until night time to get a Hoothoot. I hope for Sentret. A real cutie and it evolves into the amazing Furret. Which will probably be one of the best plush to make.

If I included Kanto mon it would be more diverse of course. However I think it may be more fun to wait for a Kanto game first!

You're smarter than I am. I decided to dye almost 4 yards of fabric instead of cutting out the pieces and dying those. I work at a fabric store so now I get to warn them about melting your faux fur if you dye it! Thanks
XD oh no!!! I woulda done the same if I had a bigger pot 🤣 but yeah!! The synthetic dye needs to be like... constantly boiling... jwj I tried to just do it while slightly simmering... It melted my fabric AND didn't change color aaaaaa

Until unfortunately the batteries of the cartridge ran dry and I woke up to an empty safe file as well...
We all had no way of knowing it was a bad one in the beginning, I just was a fan of glass starters and had fun! Then I heard later how I totally picked the wrong one. @@pumpkinplushness You can play through the games with basically any Pokemon, so there never is a "wrong" choice. It is just a bit more difficult with Chikorita. I wonder if the little guy would do better in other regions that isn't that much "anti-grass". I love picking weaker and underappreciated Pokemon. It's a really fun experience :D Yeah, still sad too this day about the large Snorlax plush T-T

Great video! I really felt that story about Silver version losing your save. I had a similar thing happen to me: my cartridge got some soda on it during a long car ride, and the next time I went to boot it up, my file was gone! It wouldn't even save anymore, so I could never play it again. In a weird way, it made Silver my favorite Pokemon game because it took up this almost mythical status as I only ever got to play it once.

I had a dream once about seeing a life sized dragonite plushie amid a huge pile of all sorts of various Pokémon merch in a room. It was the only object in that room I remember & I yearned for it like nothing else, still do. That literal dream plushie is my white whale of all toys or plushies.

The place it could be is perhaps a panel at a convention or somthing. Ive seen things for um... Air balloon animals I think they are? somthing like that :)
The reason the game wouldn't save is because the battery in the game was dead, same happened to my Crystal version and it's near impossible to find batteries for it these days
For sure... I bought all the stuff to fix it, and I didn't know that about the batteries. Back then I just went to the local grocery store and just got a two pack for like 5$ or so... I realized I needed to be static free and I constantly had a lot of static so I was too afraid to start haha. Wish I kept all that stuff for sure..

I appreciate that you are a Chikorita enjoyer, that's quite rare since most people in the fandom just make fun of how poorly it does in a playthrough compared to the other starters.

Also, I can relate to your story. Loved collecting plushies for my home in Silver and even got the big Snorlax one. Until unfortunately the batteries of the cartridge ran dry and I woke up to an empty safe file as well...
We all had no way of knowing it was a bad one in the beginning, I just was a fan of glass starters and had fun! Then I heard later how I totally picked the wrong one. But what the heck I loved it xD there is no wrong one!

@@pumpkinplushness You can play through the games with basically any Pokemon, so there never is a "wrong" choice. It is just a bit more difficult with Chikorita. I wonder if the little guy would do better in other regions that isn't that much "anti-grass".

Great video! I really felt that story about Silver version losing your save. I had a similar thing happen to me: my cartridge got some soda on it during a long car ride, and the next time I went to boot it up, my file was gone! It wouldn't even save anymore, so I could never play it again. In a weird way, it made Silver my favorite Pokemon game because it took up this almost mythical status as I only ever got to play it once.

I had a dream once about seeing a life sized dragonite plushie amid a huge pile of all sorts of various Pokémon merch in a room. It was the only object in that room I remember & I yearned for it like nothing else, still do. That literal dream plushie is my white whale of all toys or plushies.
That sounds like a great dream :D I've had a fun idea to one day gather all my plushies and others can come hug them and stuff... Its quite a ways away... But one day! The place it could be is perhaps a panel at a convention or somthing. Ive seen things for um... Air balloon animals I think they are? somthing like that :)

The reason the game wouldn't save is because the battery in the game was dead, same happened to my Crystal version and it's near impossible to find batteries for it these days
For sure... I bought all the stuff to fix it, and I didn't know that about the batteries. Back then I just went to the local grocery store and just got a two pack for like 5$ or so...
I realized I needed to be static free and I constantly had a lot of static so I was too afraid to start haha. Wish I kept all that stuff for sure..
